The new high-tech 2.0-litre unit is derived from the already much praised 1.8 TFSI engine introduced recently in A3, A4 and A5 models, but takes its efficiency a step further still through the use of new Audi valvelift technology. By employing sliding cam units mounted on the intake camshaft that allow for more variation in the degree of valve lift, the engine is able to ‘breathe’ even more effectively, switching to a higher cam profile when strong acceleration is required, or a lower profile that requires less fuel and air compression when throttle usage is more relaxed.

The new 2.0-litre TFSI unit delivers 211PS from 4,300rpm and a very impressive 350Nm torque maximum from just 1,500rpm – more even than the 3.2-litre V6 FSI unit also powering A5 models. It enables the front-wheel-drive A5 2.0 TFSI with six-speed manual transmission to cover the 0-62mph sprint in 6.9 seconds, reach a top speed of 155mph and return up to 42.8mpg according to the combined cycle test. And despite doing full justice in performance terms to the purposeful styling of the A5, it also shows restraint where emissions are concerned, with an output of 154g/km for the front-wheel-drive version.

Standard specification for front-wheel-drive and quattro all-wheel-drive versions of the new A5 2.0 TFSI includes xenon headlamps with trademark LED strip daytime running lamps, 17-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, 3-zone electronic climate control, a 10-speaker Concert CD audio system, full Milano leather upholstery and rear acoustic parking.

vi dirò di questa A5.............l'avevo criticata per il design, sopratutto per l'estrema piattezza del frontale, ma oggi son costretto a ricredermi. Forse la frase detta da De Silva " l'A5 è l'auto più bella che io abbia disegnato" è un pò troppo forte ma alla fine non credo che sia cosi esagerata

Ti quoto tutto........devo ricredermi su strada è veramente notevole stilemi fari-calandra a parte si vede proprio che è più desilva che audi, tuttavia io preferisco la sr3 coupè.

anche io alla fine preferisco la sr3 coupè ma oggi come oggi se potessi/dovessi prendere un coupè questa A5 mi creerebbe più di un dubbio

C'è da dire che la maggioranza di A5 che si vedono in giro montano il "pacchetto S" che a mio avviso migliora non poco l'estetica, specie nel frontale...

A voi piace la versione "barbone"? A me personalmente no, sembra castrata...

si è vero..ma ormai è cosi per molte auto: migliorano moltissimo con i pack estetici sportivi!

Audi has updated its entry-level A5 model, adding more power while reducing fuel-consumption and emissions. The base A5 in Europe will now be available with a 178hp (132kW) 2.0L TFSI engine instead of the former 1.8L TFSI, and its average carbon-dioxide emissions have been reduced by as much as 9%.

Derived from the 208hp (155kW) version of the turbo charged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder FSI engine already in the A5 range, the new engine benefits from Audi’s latest valvelift technology and holds a 10hp (7kW) power advantage over the old 1.8L TFSI. Torque also increases by 52lb-ft (70Nm) to 236lb-ft (320Nm), which is available from 1,500rpm to 3,900rpm, ensuring that the A5 2.0L TFSI can out-accelerate its predecessor to 62mph by 0.6 seconds, taking 7.8 seconds to complete the sprint, and on to a top speed of 148mph. Fuel economy has also been improved by 7.5% over the 1.8L model and CO2 is down by 9%, registering at 154g/km.
Standard specification for the new A5 2.0 TFSI 17in seven-spoke alloy wheels, 3-zone electronic climate control, a 10-speaker stereo, full leather trim and rear parking sensors.
The A4 range has also come in for an update. New for European models is the introduction of a new 167hp (125kW) 2.0L TDI engine with 258lb-ft (350Nm) of torque available between 1,750 and 2,500rpm.

ehm... mi sembra ci sia un piccolo errore nell'articolo... il nuovo 2.0 TFSI sostituisce il vecchio 2.0 (infatti si parla di un guadagno di 10cv). il 1.8 TFSI da 170cv credo rimanga a listino così com'è.
