The Dodge Circuit EV displays bold exterior and interior styling with outstanding performance, zero gasoline consumption and zero tailpipe emissions.

The Dodge Circuit EV design screams pure sports car from every angle. The Dodge Circuit EV's profile demonstrates perfect proportions for balanced handling, placing the driver and passenger midway along the wheelbase. At the front of the vehicle, the distinctive Dodge crosshair grille splits the wind, sending it over the long, low hood and cleanly over the windshield and cockpit. The body sides feature a deep scallop, providing visual depth and also a functional rear-brake air duct. At the rear, the functional elements blend with design to create a uniform finish.

The Dodge Circuit EV is adorned in all-new "Tangoreen" exterior color, wearing large "EV" graphics on both sides of the sports car.

The uncomplicated interior of the Dodge Circuit EV delivers a combination of pure function and athletic refinement. The cockpit design puts complete control of the car at the driver's fingertips. Nestled within a leather-covered instrument cluster are two primary analog-face gauges. A digital display conveys information regarding the electric-drive system.

The seats feature deep bolsters and are covered in premium leather. The same premium leather covers the center console and the width of the instrument panel.

The Dodge Circuit EV delivers all of the convenience features of a performance sports car, including premium sound system, power windows and door locks, air conditioning, speed control.

Propelled by a completely electric ENVI drivetrain, the Dodge Circuit EV posts impressive performance numbers:

Perhaps the most impressive Dodge Circuit EV number, however, is zero. That's how much gasoline the vehicle consumes while providing exhilarating sports car performance. It's also how much tailpipe emissions are produced.

The Dodge Circuit EV utilizes just three powertrain components. These include a 200 kW (268 horsepower) electric motor to drive the wheels, an advanced lithium-ion battery system to power the electric-drive motor, and a controller that manages energy flow.

Working with the latest advanced lithium-ion battery technology, the Dodge Circuit EV has a driving range of 150 to 200 miles between charges – more than triple the average daily commute of most consumers. Recharging the vehicle is a simple one-step process: plugging into a standard 110-volt household outlet. The recharge time can be cut in half by using a typical 220-volt household appliance power outlet.

The Dodge Circuit EV offers driving enthusiasts a performance sports car that can be driven to work every day – without consuming gasoline or producing tailpipe emissions.

Vi dirò che mi sembra addirittura + personale dell'originale. Se con lo sviluppoo nel tempo riuscissero ad avere un po' + di autonomia, e se non la prezzassero da gioielleri, sarebbe anche papabile...
E ØØØ, per l'uso che si fa di un'auto di queste caratteristiche, ergo passeggiata sportiva o poco +, beh anche 200km alla fine fanno abbastanza.

La coupé americana su base Lotus Europa, interamente elettrica

Unire lo spirito sportivo Dodge (leggasi Viper e simili) con quello tipicamente “british” di Lotus, conciliando alte prestazioni ed emissioni zero. E' quanto propone al NAIAS di Detroit la Dodge con la Circuit EV, evoluzione della recente EV Concept: in pratica una Lotus Europa trasformata in vettura a propulsione elettrica, con buone doti stradali, prestazioni da sportiva e percorrenze piuttosto elevate, almeno secondo i dati dichiarati.

ESTETICA: INGLESE A STELLE E STRISCE
Sull'estetica della Circuit EV c'è poco da dire, se non che le linee della Lotus originaria sono state sostanzialmente conservate, ma a differenza della precedente concept (che era proprio uguale alla Europa), è stato adottato un "family feeling" Dodge, con la tipica calandra "a croce" della Viper, ulteriormente accentuato dalle carreggiate allargate e dallo scudo anteriore basso e avvolgente. Stesso trattamento è riservato alla coda, con poche modifiche che amplificano la "muscolatura", secondo lo stile tipico del marchio americano. Il corpo vettura mantiene comunque la compattezza della coupé Lotus (lunghezza 3.900 mm, larghezza 1.714 mm, altezza 1.150 mm, passo 2.330 mm), con carreggiata posteriore più larga dell'anteriore (rispettivamente, 1.490 mm contro 1.457 mm) e diametro di sterzata di 11.6 m. Alla fine il risultato è comunque di un certo effetto, e sottolineato da una tinta arancio "Tangoreen", di moda tra le recenti sportive. L'interno, con abitacolo a due posti, è essenziale, con la plancia incentrata sui due elementi circolari analogici e su un display digitale per il il controllo del motore. Il rivestimento di plancia, sedili e consolle centrale è in pelle, con finiture in "silver" satinato, e sono previsti accessori da auto "normale", come sistema audio di qualità, aria condizionata, cruise control...

MOTORE E PRESTAZIONI: ELETRRICA DA CIRCUITO
Ciò che, in realtà, rende unica la Circuit EV è il sistema di propulsione, sviluppato dalla divisione ENVI. Il motore, interamente elettrico, mantiene i 268 CV del prototipo; è alimentato da moderne batterie agli ioni di litio, e affiancato da un controller per distribuire ed ottimizzare l'energia elettrica; è previsto anche un sistema di recupero di energia in frenata. Da sportiva le prestazioni: da 0 a 100 km/h sotto i 5 secondi, e percorrenza del quarto di miglio (poco pi di 400 m) in 13 secondi. La velocità massima è superiore ai 190 km/h, ma evidentemente è stata data priorità sia al comportamento stradale (Lotus docet), che al consumo di energia: l'autonomia dichiarata è tra i 240 e i 322 km, che si effettua comunque con una presa domestica, sia a 110 che a 220 volt (e in questo caso, ovviamente, la ricarica completa avviene in metà tempo). Secondo Dodge, i km percorribili con un "pieno di energia" è pari al triplo della percorrenza media quotidiana delle maggior parte degli automobilisti americani. Il tutto senza consumare una goccia di benzina, e con emissioni locali pari a zero...
