il v6 VM ha delle buone possibilità di essere montato da sulle VE Commodore sedan e Pontiac new G8.Sembra che la Holden ci stia lavorando sopra, il resto sono informazioni riguardo alle eventuali versioni ibride dei sopracitati modelli

General Motors’ Holden subsidiary is spearheading the development of a new diesel version of the modular Zeta platform as well as an advanced hybrid system, which could eventually be sold in its VE Commodore sedan and Pontiac’s new G8. In an interview with Australia’s GoAuto News, Holden boss Denny Mooney revealed that engineers in Australia were developing a two-mode petrol-electric hybrid system based on technology sourced from an alliance formed between BMW, DaimlerChrysler and GM.

GM will first release the “two-mode” hybrid system in its Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs later this year but according to Mooney, “Holden is doing the engineering work.” Mooney then revealed that engineers were also working on a new diesel V6 but there’s currently no production date scheduled. At the Geneva Motor Show, GM unveiled a new 2.9L diesel V6 that outputs 184kW and 550Nm of torque. Mooney wasn’t willing to admit whether or not Holden is in fact using the same design, but he did confirm that it does fit with Zeta.

When we’ll see a diesel or hybrid powered Holden Commodore, or Pontiac G8 for that matter, is still up in the air. “Here’s the deal with diesel, and you can put hybrids in the same mould, by the way. You’ve got to have a business case,” Mooney said. If Holden can secure a large export deal for the enviro-friendly vehicles, then it’s more than likely we’ll see them enter production in the near future. “Diesels are very popular in Europe and not so popular in the US and some other parts of the world,” admitted Mooney, “so it might depend on an export market.”

Ma piuttosto usera qualcosa di piu economico di origine Isuzu diesel e non il piu costoso VM....

Powered by a turbocharged V6 3.0 litre diesel engine, the new Hyundai Veracruz is about to enter the premium SUV market. The so called S-engine, Hyundai’s first ever V6 diesel, was developed in cooperation with SeohanWarner Turbo Systems, Ltd. (SWTS), a BorgWarner Joint Venture in Korea. After previous collaborations for the A and J Engine, the 3.0 litre Diesel Engine Program represents the latest success of BorgWarner’s global management and project launch. “Thanks to the close coordination between the BorgWarner Turbo & Emissions Systems teams in Korea and Germany we could ensure high quality levels and technical support throughout the intensive program for Hyundai’s powerful V6 Diesel”, explains Roger J. Wood, Vice President, BorgWarner Inc.; President and General Manager, BorgWarner Turbo & Emissions Systems.

Refined Performance – the S-Engine

With its maximum output of 176 kW at 3800rpm and 451 Nm of peak torque in the 1700 to 3500rpm range, the S-engine sets new standards of refinement and performance for a diesel. The engine’s six cylinders displace 2,959cc and are banked at 60 degrees, which is the optimal angle to minimize vibrations in a V6. Both innovative and effective turbocharging is achieved by the electronically controlled variable geometry BV50 turbocharger from BorgWarner Turbo & Emissions Systems. Compared to pneumatic actuator technology, the electric actuator of the third generation BV50 turbocharger leads to improved control accuracy and transient behaviour. Consequently, it allows Hyundai’s engineers to better adjust the engine in terms of increased fuel economy and performance as well as advanced emission trade offs. Together with material refinements, including a selection of lightweight Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) for the cylinder block, these technologies lead to significantly reduced emissions. As a result, the turbocharged V6 diesel engine accomplished the first grade fuel economy in Korea and meets the latest Euro IV regulations.

First comments on the engine from Korean customers already reflect the potential of the 3.0 litre V6, for they truly doubted that it is actually diesel powered.

dunque non e il VM R630...VM R630 oltre ad essere piu performante ha una cilindrata di 2987cm3....quello Hyundai di 2959cm3.....i diritti di produzione del 4 cilindri diesel avevano acquistato da VM...ma sembra che questo nuovo V6 diesel di Hyundai non c entra nulla con VM...

probabilmente hanno acquisito la licenza del v6.La minima differenza di cilindrata può essere ottenuta con una corsa leggermente inferiore ,scelta per qualche motivo loro.Più avanti credo avremo altre notizie.

ma con tutto il rispetto la tua ipotesi e' a dir poco improbabile e forzata come al solito...secondo il comunicato sopra e un motore sviluato in collaborazione tra hyundai e SeohanWarner la filiale coreana di borgwarner...e apparte la cilindrata nemeno potenza coppia e emissioni c entrano con il VM...
