semplicemente i modelli ora a listino non fanno utile, quindi usano il brand più forte e sportivo nel senso vero della parola per vendere anche altro, sempre seguendo le linee guida del marchio stesso... mi pare anche giusto, dato che tutti parlano, ma solo analizzando questo forum, che dovrebbe essere proprio il target a cui si rivolge la lotus di ora, si compra tutto tranne che roba stile elise\exige

imho comunque vogliono anticipare che il rapporto qualità\prezzo sarà simile a quello dell'evora, cioé buona qualità, ma molto prezzo

La vedo nera, e intanto io non vendo la mia baracca poco LUXURY ma molto sport da 700kg e con il roverino da morto di fame!!!

Ma pensa te questi malesi... pensassero alle vendite di evora sostenendola bene !!
E pensassero a mettere un motore giusto in quel telaio che da 14 anni attende un motore/cambio degni di questo nome!!!

The Paris Auto Show is always a showcase for some of the most impressive, desirable luxury and performance cars each year. This year, it looks like Lotus will be adding to the mix with a full trio of new concepts ahead of plans for 2012 and later launches.
Lotus has already confirmed at least one new car will be coming to Paris, and speculation that it's the new Esprit is already rampant. A new report out today says three new cars are expected: the all-new Esprit, a new roadster, and--breaking from the Lotus mold--a front-engined grand touring car. While the roadster may fit the Chapman profile of light-yet-quick sports cars, the Esprit and the new GT are expected to reflect a new strategy.
Lotus insiders often joke that the brand's name is actually an acronym, meaning "Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious." Those days are largely behind the company thanks to the brilliant Elise and Exige models, but despite the good work the Toyota-powered models have done for the Lotus brand image, the company is planning to move away from its hardcore, lightness-focused performance duo and more toward luxurious, full-featured cars.
Why? To target the luxury market rather than solely the performance market, where there are more buyers with more cash to spend--and where cars are purchased more frequently. The ultimate goal is to drive total production up from the current 2,000-2,500 cars per year toward the 7,000-car mark--roughly tripling total sales.
We'll have to wait until Paris this October to see if the reports prove true, but we await the date with mixed feelings: excitement over three new Lotus models, but trepidation over what they may become.

Ecco la prima foto -certo non di buonissima qualità- della Lotus Emas. Di cosa si tratta? Presto detto: verso la fine di giugno vi riportammo alcune indiscrezioni sul progetto di realizzare un modello Lotus sulla base della Proton Emas. Ed evidentemente a giudicare da questa immagine, si trattava di voci fondate.

La compatta malese, disegnata da Giugiaro e presentata sotto forma di prototipo al Salone di Ginevra dello scorso marzo, condividerà la sua piattaforma ed i suoi motori con il modello inglese. Che si differenzierà dalla Proton essenzialmente per le finiture più curate, mentre la linea dei due modelli sarà quasi completamente sovrapponibile.

Il modello che vedete nell’immagine si fa notare per una carrozzeria tre porte, un muso molto aggressivo e grossi cerchi dal design molto elaborato, che con ogni probabilità rimarranno appannaggio della concept. E se fosse proprio questa la grande sorpresa che Lotus sta preparando per l’ormai vicino Salone di Parigi?
