A seguito della completa vendita del pacchetto Mazda da parte di Ford, il CEO della casa di Hiroshima mette subito in chiaro che non sono in cerca di un nuovo partner commerciale.
Just five short days ago a reputable source in Japan shocked the world by stating that Ford and Mazda were on the brink of ending their storied 31-year relationship. Now, straight from the mouth of Mazda CEO Takashi Yamanouchi comes the news that Mazda is not only not looking to change its relationship with Ford, but that it also has no plans to involve any other automaker or outside partner either, according to a report by Reuters.
"We have an agreement to continue our strategic partnership with Ford. Therefore, we are not thinking at all of forming an alliance with companies other than Ford," Yamanouchi said at a news conference. The Japanese automaker's CEO later added, "In any case, under any circumstances we believe it is important to maintain the Mazda brand."
This update substantially changes the previous notion that Mazda and Ford would be moving apart, which would have created many unique issues as the pair shares platforms and plants worldwide.
