Per la precisione, il singolo è uscito settimana scorsa, mentre l'album sarà lanciato in occasione dell'insediamento di Barak Obama alla Casa Bianca. Mi sembra di ricordare il 19 gennaio.
Lo stesso singolo, Working on a dream, era stato presentato in anteprima durante una degli ultimi congressi pre-elettorali di Obama, il tutto in chiaro ed esplicito supporto al (ex) candidato democratico.

Mi è sempre piaciuto, ma non l'ho mai "frequentato" come meritava, io al tempo viaggiavo a primi U2, depeche mode e smiths...


ma non troppo tempo fa questa:

(detto per inciso: non una delle migliori..) mi ha di colpo fatto rituffare indietro nel tempo ( e son cose che fan male ).
Nostalgia e malinconia possono essere piacevoli a volte e questa canzone era abbastanza paracula per raggiungere l'obbiettivo

comunque per me il boss è questo:

Cosimo, mi hai fatto quasi commuovere io sono con il Boss sin dalla prima ora, ma hai tirato fuori proprio tutte le mie preferite.

Mancano giusto queste, leggerissimamente meno conosciute, ma altrettanto (per me) capolavori:

Questa poi ha un significato partcolare, affettivo, per via di... ahem un cara amica proprio di Youngstown. Però il testo è un capolavoro a prescindere...

il mio preferito è quello più Folk, quello più affine a woodie Guthrie
Prendendo spunto dal cammeo di un imberbe COX, il brano dancing in the dark non era previsto nell'album BORN IN THE USA ma fu aggiunto all'ultimo ,su pressione del produttore landau( il boss ricorda che su "born in the usa" sono finiti la maggior parte dei brani esclusi da Nebraska) . Il produrrore voleva un altro brano ,da proporre come singolo ,che bucasse l'etere. ( citazioni varie da " come un killer sotto il sole)

bello il libro, certo che potevano raggruppare per album le canzoni....
hanno scelto un ordine tutto loro che non comprendo, visto che impiego molto meno tempo a cercare i testi su internet che spulciare l'indice....

l'album non mi è dispiaciuto, però alterna pezzi che trovo davvero belli ("Life itself" o "The wrestler") ad altri un po' insipidi

bello il libro, certo che potevano raggruppare per album le canzoni....
hanno scelto un ordine tutto loro che non comprendo, visto che impiego molto meno tempo a cercare i testi su internet che spulciare l'indice....

in effetti...
L'autore ha voluto riunire i brani per tema, seguire un percorso ben preciso a livello di emozioni. Sogno,lotta, realtà e raggiunta maturità .

Non l'ho ancora comprato, tutti originali gli album del boss, perchè da buon lucchese aspetto il prezzo ridotto .
Comunque i mie preferiti sono .
In primis We shall overcome . I brani , come è noto, non sono suoi ma si rivela straordinario come interprete e arrangiatore e inoltre è interessante la blue grass band con cui ha realizzato l'album.
The river , Nebraska , tunnell of love,lucky twon , human touch anche se quest'ultimo ha avuto poco successo a quello che si dice.
Il fantasma di tom joad invece mi dà l'impressione di un lavoro incompiuto , alcuni brani sono corti e forse scritti di getto e bruscamente terminati
Trovo sotto tono invece alcuni brani di Darkness on the Edge of Town e infine manca all'appello Devils & Dust che acquisterò a breve.
