Kia presenta la Morning, ossia la Picanto riservata al solo mercato Coreano. Sebbene alcuni dettagli meccanici potranno esser differenti, la vettura esteticamente è la nostra futura picanto. Nel quadro strumenti è presente un piccolo schermo a colori che misura 4,2 pollici e mostra informazioni molto rilevanti per il conducente. C'è anche un touchscreen da 8 pollici per il funzionamento del sistema di infotainment, che consente l'accesso a numerosi servizi digitali online. Per quanto riguarda la sezione meccanica, dobbiamo tenere presente che stiamo parlando di un modello per il mercato sudcoreano. Lì, il nuovo Morning Urban sarà disponibile con un motore a benzina SmartStream da 1,0 litri aggiornato che sviluppa 76 cavalli. Kia presenta la nuova Cadenza - alias K7 - per il mercato Americano e Coreano. Nuovi interni con schermo da 12.3" per la telematica di bordo, nuova trasmissione automatica ad 8 rapporti. Nessuna notizia della gamma motori che - attualmente - in USA è disponibile con il V6 3.3 Theta da 295 CV; in Corea è disponibile con nuovi V6 da 2.5 litri e 3.0 litri.

Debuttano le rinnovate Kia Niro Hybrid e Kia Niro Plug-In-Hybrid, il cui stile esterno è ispirato alla versione full electric (Kia Niro EV), mentre all'interno troviamo l'utilizzo di nuovi materiali e nuove opzioni di colore. Inoltre, i modelli Niro sottoposti a restyling ottengono il nuovo sistema telematico UVO Connect di Kia. All'esterno, la Kia Niro M.Y. 2019 riceve un nuovo design dei paraurti, fari riprogettati caratterizzati da un design "ice-cube" (disponibile come FULL LED, optional), nuove LED DRL con un esclusivo layout a doppia freccia e fari antinebbia LED (optional). Nella parte posteriore, i crossover adottano luci posteriori a LED ridisegnate, una piastra inferiore in argento, nuovi catadiottri e fendinebbia posteriori. La Kia Niro Hybrid è disponibile con cerchi da 16 sino ai 18 " (quest'ultimi anche diamantati bicolore), mentre la declinazione Plug-In-Hybrid è disponibile esclusivamente con cerchio da 16". La telematica è affidata ad un sistema di infotainment da 8,0 pollici touchscreen e da uno schermo TFT da 4,2 pollici nel quadro strumenti. Optional schermo touchscreen da 10,25 pollici e schermo nel quadro strumenti da 7,0 pollici. La gamma Niro guadagna anche due pacchetti di colori in Europa: rosso-arancio o prugna. Altre modifiche includono l'adozione dei "paddles" al volante per il cambio a doppia frizione a sei rapporti ed un nuovo freno di stazionamento elettronico con freni posteriori più grandi. Il sistema telematico UVO Connect diventa disponibile sulla Kia Niro Hybrid. Compatibile con il touchscreen opzionale da 10,25 pollici ed uno smartphone, UVO connect offre accesso a informazioni sul traffico in tempo reale, previsioni meteo, POI, prezzi del carburante, parcheggio, informazioni sulla stazione di ricarica ed altro ancora. La gamma Niro aggiornata vede anche l'introduzione di nuove tecnologie di sicurezza attiva come la funzionalità Stop & Go per il sistema Smart Cruise Control e Lane Following Assist. Nessun cambiamento viene apportato ai propulsori, che combinano un motore a benzina GDi da 1,6 litri con una batteria ai polimeri di litio da 1,56 kWh (per Niro Hybrid) e lo stesso motore termico con una batteria da 8,9 kWh nell'ibrido plug-in . Le emissioni di CO2 dell'ibrido sono pari a 99,8 g / km (ciclo combinato WLTP) mentre l'ibrido plug-in emette 31,3 g / km. Il modello PHEV può essere guidato in modalità EV fino a 49 km. Kia inizierà le vendite europee della Niro PHEV e Niro Hybrid durante il secondo trimestre del 2019.

In USA debutta il M.Y. 2020 per la Kia Sportage. Probabilmente questo "maquillage" verrà proposto anche da noi in Europa. Orsù, cambia il paraurti anteriore che presenta una nuova barra cromata che corre a tutta larghezza, intersecando le luci diurne. I fari anteriori sono stati ridisegnati ed utilizzano la tecnologia LED per frecce ed anabbaglianti. Il contorno della griglia ora è più sottile, inoltre al posteriore ci sono leggere modifiche per paraurti, fari e scarichi. All'interno troviamo un nuovo schermo tattile da 8" , il cui sistema supporta Apple CarPlay ed Android Auto. Nuovo design per il volante, parte bassa della plancia e controllo climatizzatore. Debuttano, fra gli aiuti alla guida, il sistema di rilevamento dell'attenzione del conducente, il Lane Departure Warning e l'Active Cruise Control con funzione di Stop&Go. Ecco la nuova Kia Soul 2020, che è stata presentata in anteprima al L.A. Auto Show. La fisionomia è sempre quella del MPV squadrato, ma ora la personalità è molto più marcata, anche grazie all'utilizzo di una fanaleria a più livelli per il frontale ed un posteriori con luci "boomerang" che avvolgono l'intero retro della vettura. Kia tende a far sapere che il montante "C" della sua nuova Soul è ispirata all'ala di un aeroplano...il problema è il resto. In USA si parte con un 4 cilindri 2.0 litri aspirato da 150 CV e 178 Nm di coppia abbinato ad un manuale 6 marce o ad un automatico a variazione continua IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission). Sempre in USA, ma a questo punto anche sul suolo Europeo, abbiamo il 4 cilindri 1.6 Turbo ad iniezione diretta di benzina accoppiato alla trasmissione doppia frizione a 7 marce. La potenza massima è di 204 CV e la coppia di 264 Nm. Per la Scandinavia e per gli animi ecologistici, Kia presenta in simultanea la Kia Soul EV, completamente elettrica con batteria da 64 kWh che alimenta un motore elettrico da 204 CV e 394 Nm di coppia. Nessun dato è stato rilasciato per prestazioni e consumi. Sulla Kia Soul EV sono disponibili 4 modalità differenti di guida ed un particolare sistema di recupero dell'energia in frenata, che si aziona non mediante il pedale del freno, ma attraverso una leva attorno al volante (paddle). Arriva la versione full electric, presentata in Korea - Seul - che garantisce una autonomia di 450 km con la batteria da 64 kWh, che scendono a 300 con quella da 39.2 kWh. Dati molto importanti se confrontati con la e-Golf, che rispetto a quest'ultima ha una batteria di 3.4 kWh più grande ed una autonomia di 200 km. Kia dichiara che sia possibile ricaricare la batteria all'80% (senza specificare l'amperaggio) in appena 54 minuti. Rispetto alla Hyundai Kona Electric, è più potente ( 204 CV e 400 Nm di coppia) ma realizza uno 0-100 km/h in 2 decimi in più (7.8 s rispetto a 7.6s). Kia ha dichiarato di aver già ricevuto 5000 ordini per la Niro EV in Korea.

Debutta un nuovo 1.6 Turbodiesel in luogo del vecchio 1.7 CRDi. Il nuovo diesel eroga 136 CV e 300 Nm ed ha un sistema di trattamento dei fumi con filtro SCR ed ADBlue che le consentono di rispettare le norme Euro6d-Temp. Sul lato benzina, debutta il nuovo 1.6 Turbo benzina da 180 CV accoppiato ad un cambio doppia frizione a 7 velocità. Questo motore si posiziona tra il 2.0 litri aspirato ed il 2.0 litri turbo benzina dell'allestimento GT. Nuova grafica per il paraurti e per le ottiche, con tecnologia LED per quelle posteriori.
