Mercedes reveals the sound of their new F1 engine

Has a maximum rev limit of 15,000 rpm

Mercedes Formula One engine boss Andy Cowell has previously said the new F1 engines are going to be "loud but sweeter sounding" and now the company is letting us be the judge.
In a video posted on the Mercedes AMG Petronas YouTube page, the company has revealed the sound of their new turbocharged 1.6-liter engine. Featuring an audio recording from a prototype engine, the clip is synced to a simulated lap of the Monza circuit. While it won't be music to everyone's ears, Mercedes says the engine has a maximum rev limit of 15,000 rpm and a single turbocharger spinning at speeds of up to 125,000 rpm.
