Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled, for the first time in the world, the Honda FCV CONCEPT, a concept car for an all-new fuel-cell vehicle (FCV), and the Honda Power Exporter CONCEPT, a concept model for an external power feeding device that enables AC power output from the FCV with maximum output of 9 kW*1. The all-new FCV that will be based on this concept model is scheduled to go on sale in Japan by the end of March, 2016 and subsequently in the U.S. and Europe. In addition to the FCV and external power feeding device, Honda will further promote the application of the Smart Hydrogen Station (SHS), a packaged hydrogen station unit that adopts Honda’s original high-differential-pressure electrolyzer. In this way, Honda will work toward the forthcoming hydrogen society under three key concepts – “generate,” “use” and “get connected” – and strive for the early realization of a CO2-free society.Honda views hydrogen as a high-potential, next-generation energy carrier due to the fact that hydrogen can be generated from various energy sources and is easily transportable and storable. Based on this view, Honda has been positioning the FCV -which uses electricity generated through the chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen as a power source for the motor – as the ultimate environmentally responsible vehicle and taking a proactive approach to the research and development of FCVs since the late 1980s.

In 2002, the Honda FCX became the first*2 fuel cell vehicle in the world to be certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). With these certifications, Honda began lease sales of the Honda FCX in Japan and the U.S. In 2003, Honda developed the Honda FC STACK, the world’s first*2 fuel-cell stack able to start at below-freezing temperatures. Then in 2005, Honda became the world’s first*2 to begin lease sales of FCVs to individual customers in the U.S.

In 2008, Honda began lease sales of the FCX Clarity, an unprecedented fuel-cell vehicle that offers not only the ultimate in clean performance, but also new values and the appeal of a car, including an innovative sedan-type package and driving feel that is far beyond conventional vehicles.

As demonstrated by this track record to date, Honda has been a leading company in the field of FCV development, amassing real-world data through lease sales in Japan and the U.S., including actual feedback from individual users and also driving data from the vehicles.

The Honda FCV CONCEPT is a concept car for Honda’s next-generation FCV, a successor model to the FCX Clarity, with which Honda strives to achieve a further improvement in performance and a reduction in cost. The newly-developed fuel-cell stack installed to this concept car is 33% smaller than the previous fuel-cell stack and yet realized output of more than 100 kW and output density as high as 3.1 kW/L, improving the overall performance by approximately 60% compared to the previous version of the fuel-cell stack. Honda’s next-generation FCV will be the world’s first*2 FCV sedan with the entire powertrain, including the downsized fuel-cell stack, consolidated under the hood of a sedan-type vehicle. This powertrain layout enables a full cabin package that seats five adults comfortably and also will make it possible to evolve this vehicle into multiple models in the future when the more widespread use of FCVs requires enhanced choices for customers.

The Honda FCV CONCEPT is also equipped with a 70 MPa high-pressure hydrogen storage tank that provides a cruising range of more than 700 km*3. The tank can be refilled in approximately three minutes*4, making refueling as quick and easy as today’s gasoline vehicles.

Furthermore, the Honda FCV CONCEPT features an external power feeding function*5, which underwent a large number of verification tests with the FCX Clarity. When combined with an external power feeding device, this FCV can function as a small-sized mobile power plant that generates and provides electricity to the community in times of disaster or other events.

Striving to make a contribution to the forthcoming “hydrogen energy society,” Honda will continue taking on new challenges in the area of hydrogen technologies including the Smart Hydrogen Station, FCVs and external power feeding devices.

Honda ha presentato una versione più vicina alla produzione della FCEV Concept.

Non è un genere che amo, affatto, ma è comunque meglio della Mirai di Toyota.

In pratica questo "Power Exporter" trasforma l'auto ad idrogeno in un gruppo elettrogeno? :)

Non mi è chiaro se utilizzi direttamente l'idrogeno avendo una Fuel Cell interna, oppure se faccia solo da inverter, utilizzando le FC dell'auto... :pen:

con qualche accorgimento nel frontale (e magari rivedendo alcune nervature) la vedrei benissimo come una rivisitazione della Citroen GS :)

TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 17, 2014 – The Honda FCV Concept will make its North American debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show on Jan. 12. Continuing more than a decade of Honda leadership in the area of fuel cell vehicle (FCV) technology, the Honda FCV Concept showcases the styling evolution of Honda’s next fuel-cell vehicle, anticipated to launch in the U.S., following its introduction in Japan, which is scheduled to occur by March 2016.

As the next progression in Honda’s dynamic FCV styling, the Honda FCV Concept features a low and wide aerodynamic body with clean character lines. The interior strives to achieve harmony between man and machine by taking advantage of new powertrain packaging efficiencies delivering even greater passenger space than the Honda FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle, including seating for up to five people.

The Honda FCV Concept made its world debut in Japan on Nov. 17, 2014, followed by an announcement that Honda will provide FirstElement Fuel with $13.8 million in financial assistance to build additional hydrogen refueling stations throughout the state of California in an effort to support the wider introduction of fuel-cell vehicles.

Honda Fuel-Cell Vehicle Firsts:

The original FCX became the first EPA- and CARB-certified fuel-cell vehicle in July 2002. The FCX also was the world’s first production fuel-cell vehicle, introduced to the U.S. and Japan in December 2002.

Additional highlights include:

  • The Honda FCX was the first fuel-cell vehicle to start and operate in sub-freezing temperatures (2003).
  • The FCX was the first fuel-cell vehicle leased to an individual customer (July 2005).
  • With the FCX Clarity, Honda was the first manufacturer to build and produce a dedicated fuel-cell vehicle on a production line specifically made for fuel-cell vehicles (2008).
  • · Honda was the first manufacturer to create a fuel-cell vehicle dealer network (2008).

      Con un pacco batteria da 82 kWh, questo consente un'autonomia di circa 560 chilometri nel ciclo WLTP o 483 chilometri nel test EPA.
       
      Questo modello racchiude un motore elettrico montato sull'asse posteriore da 275 CV / 205 kW che aziona le ruote posteriori. Come possibile segno del futuro del veicolo, VW fa notare che un altro motore potrebbe alimentare le ruote anteriori per fornire un totale di 355 CV (265 kW). Questa versione a trazione integrale potrebbe raggiungere i 100 km/h in cinque secondi, ed avere una velocità massima limitata elettronicamente di  180 km/h.
      Space Vizzion è simile agli altri membri della famiglia di Concept ID, evitando una grande griglia a favore di aperture più piccole sotto il cofano e nella fascia inferiore. Questo perché un radiatore tradizionale non è necessario sull'EV. Oltre ai fari a matrice di LED, ci sono strisce LED che corrono per la larghezza della parte anteriore e avvolgono i lati. Illumina anche il logo VW.

      A seguito del M.Y. 2020 in Nord America, anche la versione Europea della Civic viene aggiornata.
      Debutta il nuovo frontale, con una diversa mascherina e nuovi fendinebbia. 
      Ulteriori modifiche nella parte anteriore includono fari full-LED standard e DRL LED ridisegnati che seguono le linee dello styling.
      La Honda Civic M.Y. 2020 ottiene anche nuovi cerchi in lega leggera da 16 pollici per il modello entry-level e da 17 pollici “Shark Grey” per i modelli di fascia media e alta. Completano gli aggiornamenti esterni una nuova vernice chiamata Obsidian Blue.
      All'interno nuovi pannelli porta con diversa texture, sedile del conducente elettrico regolabile in otto direzioni per i modelli di fascia alta ed una fruibilità migliorata grazie all'aggiunta di pulsanti e quadranti fisici per l'infotainment e i controlli del clima.
       
      Invariata la gamma motori, costituita dal 3 cilindri 1.0 da 125 CV ed il 4 cilindri 1.5 Turbo da 182 CV, a cui sia aggiunge il parco Diesel 1.6 i-DTEC da 120 CV.
      I motori a benzina possono essere equipaggiati con cambio manuale a sei marce o con cambio automatico CVT, mentre il diesel è dotato di un manuale a sei marce o di un automatico a nove velocità.
      Tutti i modelli sono equipaggiati di serie con la suite di sicurezza Honda Sensing con sistema di frenata per ridurre gli effetti delle collisioni, sistema adattivo di controllo della velocità, avviso di superamento della corsia, sistema di assistenza al mantenimento della corsia e riconoscimento dei segnali stradali. 
      La Honda Civic aggiornata sarà disponibile per l'ordine in tutta Europa a partire da dicembre, con consegne a partire da gennaio 2020.
