Press Release:

The Agera RS pushes the boundaries and takes the Agera to all new levels of performance. With focus on track aptitude, the RS utilizes advanced technology from the One:1 program while maintaining all the features and functionalities of previous S and R models, and beholds the Agera’s everyday usability, luggage compartment, rear window and detachable and storable hardtop.

Examples of available RS enhancements are; advanced lightweight sound insulation, new track optimized front splitter, front winglets, side skirts, advanced dynamic underbody flap system and a dynamically active rear spoiler for added down force, which is now up to 450 kg at 250 km/h. The RS also features improved side air outlets behind the front wheels, increased power and raised rpm limit. Even with all the additional functionality and equipment, we have managed to lower the curb weight, compared to the R and S versions, using advanced chassis and body composites and lay-up.

On top of the standard equipment, the Agera RS also offers the option to choose Koenigsegg active and self-levelling chassis package, 3G connected Pre-Active chassis setups, alternative aero package, active sound cancellation and much more.

The engine - like the previous Agera S version - has been optimized for regular pump gas and now puts out an incredible 1160 Bhp on regular petrol.

Given the 5 liter engine volume, this gives an astonishing 232 Bhp per liter with perfect reliability. On certain markets the Agera RS can also be upgraded to run on E85 with flex fuel capabilities, for even higher power levels.

The Agera RS is the ultimate track tool, while still being able to be registered for road use worldwide, as it is complies with the latest safety standards and other necessary homologation features.

The RS will be handcrafted in only 25 examples, with 10 pre-sold prior to the first showing.

Optional functionality for Agera RS

Front hood vents for increased downforce

One:1 inspired active front venturi flap system under splitter

Active ride height and shock absorber system

Integrated side winglets for reduced drag

1 MW E85 power upgrade

Roof Scoop

Interior options as anodizing, contrasting stitching and/or piping, pattern on floor mats / roof / back wall

Lifestyle options such as Diamond encrusted key fob, sound system, parking sensors, rear view camera, front end stone chip protection film, luggage set, winter wheel package and aero carbon softline roof box

A stretch of the highway between Las Vegas and Pahrump will be closed Saturday and Sunday for some extremely reckless driving.

Under a special permit from the Nevada Department of Transportation, Swedish super-carmaker Koenigsegg plans to use a straight, 11-mile section of state Route 160 to try to set a new speed record for production cars.

To do that, the company’s ultra-exclusive, 1,360-horsepower Agera sports car will have to top the current mark of 268 mph set in 2010 by a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

In the process the team also hopes to set a new record for the highest speed on an open public highway.

Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club at the southern edge of Pahrump is hosting the run at the record. Joel Oscarson, strategic development coordinator for the driving school and club for racing enthusiasts, wasn’t available for comment Friday, but he previously told the Pahrump Valley Times that this weekend’s attempt has been in the works for about a year.

Oscarson called it “one of the most exciting events ever attempted on Nevada’s highways.”

The southbound lanes of Route 160 will be closed and traffic shifted onto the northbound lanes between the Tecopa and Sandy Valley roads from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the speed trial.

NDOT spokesman Tony Illia said the Nevada Highway Patrol will provide traffic controls and escorts during the closure and detour. Motorists in the area should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, Illia said.

No parking, walking or bicycling will be allowed along the 11-mile stretch of road during the closed, private event.

Guinness World Records, the arbiter of such things, defines a production car as a vehicle in its original condition, with no modifications or adjustments other than those offered as factory options by the manufacturer.

There are no stipulations on how many of the cars must be produced, which is why only a handful of hyper-specialized and expensive sports cars are usually in competition for the record.

Koenigsegg questo weekend tenterà di battere il record di velocità della Bugatti Veyron Super Sport su un tratto si superstrada di 11 miglia (chiuso all'uopo) nel Nevada
