Ciao,

2 domande:

New engines and improved interior for the upgraded SEAT Leon

  • The SEAT Leon receives a new 1.5 TSI engine, delivering 115PS (85kW)/220Nm
  • A new generation of eHybrid engines (plug-in hybrid) is now also available, delivering 204PS (150kW), while offering more than 100km of all-electric range
  • The interior receives two newly designed and improved HMI, with 10,4” and 12.9” infotainment system and 15W wireless mobile device charging

The SEAT Leon undergoes technical and technological upgrades. It adds new engines – including a new 1.5 TSI engine as well as a new generation of eHybrid plug-in hybrid engine – and integrates improved digitalisation into the cockpit for both the 5-door and Sportstourer version.

“The SEAT Leon remains essential in the brand’s strategy, carving out a successful path, allowing it to embrace new technologies,” said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of SEAT. “The expanded engine line-up, including a new generation eHybrid and digital technologies continue its evolving journey.”

The SEAT Leon remains a key pillar in the brand’s strategy. It is available with a wide range of powertrains, including four different technologies: TSI (petrol), eTSI (mild hybrid), TDI (diesel) and eHybrid engines (plug-in hybrid). In total, there are seven different powertrain options, from 115PS (85kW) to 204PS (150kW).

It is now exclusively available with four-cylinder engines: either 1.5 TSI (petrol, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid) or 2.0 TDI (diesel).

The entry point for the SEAT Leon is the new 1.5 TSI engine (previously: 1.0 TSI), delivering 115PS/85kW (+5PS/4kW) and 220Nm of torque (+20Nm), and linked to a 6-speed manual transmission.  CO2 emissions are 120-132g/km while it uses 5.3-5.8 liters of fuel to travel 100km according to the official WLTP test cycle.

It’s also available with two mild hybrid options (eTSI): 1.5 litre 115PS (85kW) and 150PS (110kW), exclusively in combination with the 7-speed DSG transmission. It mates 48V mild-hybrid technology to the combustion engine, which not only adds the efficiency of electrification but also comfort.

Finally, a new generation of eHybrid engines (plug-in hybrid) is now available for the SEAT Leon, delivering 204PS (150kW)/350Nm. It combines a 1.5-litre TSI 150PS (110kW) petrol engine, 115PS (85kW) electric motor and 19.7kWh lithium-ion net battery pack. The combination allows the SEAT Leon to deliver eco-conscious excitement and an electric-only range of more than 100km. And when the battery needs recharging, drivers can now charge up to 50kW on DC fast-chargers or at 11 kW at home on an AC wallbox.

The SEAT Leon also receives technological upgrades in the exterior, with new optional matrix LED headlamps available for the first time in SEAT’s hatchback.

Inside the SEAT Leon refocuses digitalisation with a new and improved human-machine interface (HMI), implemented in the digital cockpit (10,25”) behind the steering wheel as well as in the larger 10.4 “standard infotainment system (previously:  8,25”) or the optional 12.9’’ infotainment system, both with a retro-illuminated slider. And when mobile smart devices need a charge, the SEAT Leon now offers wireless fast-charging capabilities of up to 15W with refrigerated technology.

Designed, developed, and produced in Barcelona at the brand’s Martorell facilities, the SEAT Leon will enter production this month (May 2024).
