Big tailgate, and lots behind it: embossed ‘Amarok’ on the back

  • Making a statement of its own: the new premium pick-up’s look from behind
  • Design tribute: showcased in a short clip

Aclear statement: in front of you is the new Amarok. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ premium pick-up will soon be celebrating its premiere. And its cargo box with tailgate is a further highlight. The Amarok name embossed in future in metal is put centre stage in a short video clip.

Pick-ups are true transportation marvels, which is why in many regions of the world it is unimaginable not to have them around as load carriers – be that in the commercial sector or for people with big hobbies. So that everyone knows that this is a vehicle that can carry relatively large loads off road too, the model name appears in future as an additional design element embossed in large, clear letters on the tailgate.

Depending on model and specification, large loads of up to 1.2 tonnes can be accommodated behind the tailgate in the new Amarok’s cargo box. A supreme maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes can now likewise be produced via more engine/gearbox variants. On some model variants, incidentally, the Amarok name additionally appears on the front of the vehicle as well.

Alongside the already showcased ‘IQ.Light’, the striking, redesigned embossed ‘Amarok’ on the tailgate is just one of many design and engineering highlights of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ new Amarok. More will be presented over the coming weeks. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ design brings these highlights to the fore in true cinematic style. Making a big ‘impression’: the vehicle in front is clearly the new Amarok!  After you have registered on our press page vwn-presse.de, you can use this Link to download photos, text and the video clip directly.

Following in the wheel tracks of success

Over 830,000 units of the Amarok have been sold to date in Europe, South America, South Africa and Oceania. The strengths of the successful premium pick-up from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles: supreme drive systems, high load capacities, systematic functionality and a design the cuts a good figure both on and off the road. The brand from Hannover is further developing these strengths with the new generation. The new Amarok will launch as of the end of 2022 in the first few countries with double cab and four doors (DoubleCab), and in some individual markets with a two-door single cab (SingleCab).

Floating design: the display unit in the new Amarok

The central control unit in the premium pick-up is going vertical

Design tribute: display unit showcased in a short clip

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ premium pick-up will soon be celebrating its premiere. And its interior presents a further highlight. The display unit in the new Amarok is in future vertically aligned and offers a better overview and extensive control options. A short video clip shows the screen, which has a diameter of up to 12 inches.

A better overview and easier access to controls in Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ new premium pick-up: with the new digital cockpit and a display unit (with 10 to 12-inch screen) that is almost vertically ‘levitating’ above the central console many new possibilities in the segment open up. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is using a mix of digital functions and ergonomically optimally configured buttons and/or push/rotary switches in the Amarok that are intuitive to use.

Additionally entering the pick-up world of the Amarok are over 30 driver assist systems, which can be configured via the display. More than 20 of them are to be found in the Amarok range for the first time. These include lane-keeping and lane-changing assistants, lighting and speed assistants, and also surrounding area view and road sign recognition. The scope of interaction between vehicle users and pick-up, for example via mobile online services such as ‘We Connect Navigation’ and the operation of air conditioning, infotainment, navigation, parking assistants and the exclusive premium sound system (dependent on specification), can be easily managed via the central control panel. There is also a row of switches arranged underneath the display. They provide quick and direct access to some of the numerous functions.

Alongside the already showcased ‘IQ.Light’ and the strikingly embossed ‘Amarok’ on the tailgate, the new, vertically arranged display unit in the interior is also another eye-catching feature among the many design and engineering highlights in Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ new pick-up. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ design brings these highlights to the fore in true cinematic style. The ‘floating’ central control element is on show here.

È la stessa domanda che si è fatto il designer dopo che gli hanno girato le richieste del management Ford 😂
