Cita

Bertone Classic.
Bertone RUNABOUT

The purest car design geometry, consisting of just two lines.

The Return of a 1969 Design Icon

The original Runabout was more than a concept – it revolutionized automotive design, inspiring icons like the FIAT X1/9 and Lancia Stratos.

Decades later, its impact endures, earning the prestigious Gran Turismo Award at the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Celebrate the Good Life.

The original 1969 Runabout has a special place in car design history. It is one of legendary designer Marcello Gandini’s most iconic wedge designs, and a prime example of the master’s
ability to execute a spectacular shape with brilliant simplicity.
A masterpiece of design, the Bertone RUNABOUT is made for collectors and connoisseurs who
appreciate groundbreaking style and exceptional performance. With its pure geometry and
stunning lines, it is more than just a car – it’s a piece of history.

Design Inspiration

The L-shape

Andrea Mocellin, Bertone's lead designer, shares his vision: “The challenge was maintaining the spirit and purity of the original 1969 model while integrating modern high-performance technology. The new Bertone Runabout is a perfect blend of design heritage and modern performance, created for those who celebrate the good life and the pleasure of driving.”

The Runabout follows the Zero principle in terms of design and geometry. The Runabout’s distinctive profile can be easily memorized in just two seconds, with the car’s two main lines clearly visible. The L-shape on the side, starting from the roll bar and continuing all the way to the front, thereby creates a wedge shape, while the horizontal bottom line gives the car a somewhat nautical feel.

Tradition of Exclusivity

In line with Bertone’s tradition of exclusivity, the new Bertone RUNABOUT will be crafted in a select series, highlighting our dedication to exceptional craftsmanship.

This remarkable launch also unveils the Bertone CLASSIC line, a collection that honors the brand’s most legendary automotive masterpieces.

Designing freedom: The Bertone Runabout in two forms

It comes in two distinctive configurations: the Barchetta, offering an open-air, purist experience without a roof or windshield, and the Targa, featuring a removable roof for added versatility.

FROM 55 TO 500 hp

Powered by a V6 engine, the Bertone RUNABOUT delivers thrilling performance while maintaining the agile and lightweight feel that defined the original. This is more than a car – it’s a piece of history you can drive.
