  1. How they can buy FCA if Exor owns about 30% of the company? FCA is at the stock market with a huge quantity of the shareholders.

Revenue of Great Wall in 2016 was about 14.9 billions USD, revenue of FCA in 2016 was 111 billions USD. In 2016 Great Wall sold 1 mln cars, 5 times less than FCA.

Is it another joke issued by Autonews?

  2. To be honest, I have almost everyday troubles with Multiair of Dodge Dart. But my car is not stock, it has Marelli tuning boxes, also I live about 1500m above the sea level.

So, throttle mistake. Yes, happened about once in a month. Never happened under the load, just in a light traffic, about 1300 rpm. To clear the mistake is enough to turn off/on the engine.

Another mistake, check engine light, happened once in a week in a summer time and once per month in winter. The reason is a reach mixture. It influenced on performance. To get rid of it I need turn off/on the engine as well.

In my opinion Multiair system has a kind of safe mode, that not allow engine to be near the edge of oil temperature or reach fuel mixture. Too intelligent system that depends on atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity. When something is beyond of the set up level the system shows a mistake that is not critical but warning.

Lights are not a signals of the problem that something is broken, no it is the signal that something is beyond of normal level.

  3. Russian market is not a Klondike anymore. Russian economic depends on oil mostly. I would say they cannot do anything but oil extraction. So, oil prices are low, and will be low for many years ahead.

I would say FIAT made right decision.
P.S. Mostly they, and a lot of other companies, stopped sales because of the special emergency system that must be installed in any new car. Big money involved in testing and government required crash tests. No reason to develop it for rather small market as Russia.

  4. Guys, probably someone knows what is the locking percentage of limited slip differential? I mean at Q2 and QV models. Perhaps 4WD version with LSD has different locking percentage.
Does anybody know it? Is it the same as classic Alfa's had - 25%, or more aggressive tune?

  5. Utopian idea. DTM is a local (EU, mostly German) championship. Sergio might be willing to invest in global activity, known in North America and Asia. In my opinion there are only 2 championships where Alfa can be represented globally, WEC and F1. Anyway, in both championships cars use hybrid technologies. The same technology has to be used on production cars, to advertise it..
My conclusion, we will not see Alfa in racing till Hybrid technology will appear in the model line. 2020-2021???

  6. I would like to come back to this topic for the clarification. We tried to figure out what engine was used as the base of 155 V6 TI with 90 degrees engine block.

I was sure that it was PRV (from Lancia Thema), others were convinced it was V8 from Montreal. It sounds weird but two opinions are right. Both engines were homologated as optional engines.

P.S. FIA published ALL past homologation sheets, please enjoy

  7. 38 minuti fa, MacGeek dice:

Engineers describe V6 Alfa as two 3 cylinders engines joined in one.

  8. Does anyone know if 2.0 GME engines have built-in after-run electric pump for cooling down a turbocharger after engine stops? The same systems is installed in 4C 1750 TBi and US 1.4 Turbo Multiair. It runs the electric pump up to 10 minutes, the system substitutes turbo timer.
