Here is an article from today's AutoExpress Magazine:
COUPÉ DARES TO BARE
It's another swoopy coupé from Peugeot - last week the magazine brought you pictures of the 308 CC, and now in this week's mag our spy photographers have captured the best images yet of the two-door version of the 407 totally undisguised.
The mag's shots prove it will be a stunner. The successor to the 406 Coupé is based on the existing saloon, but borrows its styling from the Elixir concept car first seen at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. The smooth bonnet, rakish headlights and wide grille are trademark 407, but behind them, the Coupé features a gently sloping shoulder line and curved roof with slim pillars.
At the rear, a high bumper and discreet tail spoiler mark it out from the four-door. All credit goes to Peugeot's own designers, as the Coupé has been styled in-house, whereas its predecessor was the work of Pininfarina.
Despite the profile, the 407 Coupé will be as spacious inside as the saloon. Generous front and rear legroom will make it a genuine four-seater, while it's rumoured that the load area will be accessible through a conventional bootlid rather than a hatchback opening.
The Coupé will share the saloon's wide engine choice, including an excellent new 2.7-litre V6 twin-turbodiesel, also used by Ford, which makes its Peugeot debut here. Further down the range will be 2.0 and 2.2-litre petrol motors, as well as a 2.0-litre HDi oil-burner. Manual, sequential and automatic gearboxes will be available.
The flagship V6 407 Coupé, to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, will cost about £24,000 - that's £1,500 more than the saloon.
mi sembra strano trovare immagini della 407 senza alcuna camuffatura.. quando la presentazione ufficiale dovrebbe essere a settembre dell'anno prossimo.
