    Lungo 4160mm, 4Ever è più corto di 60mm rispetto alla Captur; la versione di serie verrà costruita nella ElectriCity di Renault.

    • The rugged, adventure-ready 4EVER Trophy show car is also here to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 4L Trophy humanitarian rally.

    The Renault 4 is much more than a car: it is a true icon. With over 8 million units sold in more than 100 countries, it has been crossing generational and social gaps for the past 60 years. It is as comfortable in cities as far out in the countryside, and multipurpose – you can drive it to work and on long journeys, use it to carry loads, and a lot more.

    It is unpretentious yet in, chic yet a car for everyone, and appeals to men and women alike.

    Production was discontinued 30 years ago but the 4L has never left the limelight. It is one of the original young-timer vintage cars and the past 25 years have seen the 4L Trophy prove time and again its worth as a versatile car built to last. This explains why it is still a crowd pleaser, especially with the younger generations.

    The 4EVER Trophy show car that Renault is unveiling at the 2022 Paris Motor Show is its second iconic model to get an electric reboot, following Renault 5 Prototype, during the Renaulution. Renault, in other words, is tapping into its illustrious past to better electrify its future.

     

    A MODERN TWIST AND A LOT OF DARING

    The Renault 4EVER Trophy show car creates new memories while bringing back old ones. Under a muscular exterior, the stylistic ties to its 4L predecessor are evident. The original car’s main features have been revived:

    • The silhouette with the prominent bonnet, bumper, and hallmark angled rear section, are readily recognisable
    • The rear, trapezoidal side windows with their rounded corners are located just above the rear wheels
    • The front flanks have been left bare (no lights or stylish markers)
    • The wings sit atop the wheel arches and reach through to the shield

    The retro style blends harmoniously with the rest of the otherwise sophisticated and technological lines.

    The show car has generous curves and a very elaborate grille. The ‘ultra tech’ connections between the spokes and bodywork bring an added layer of precision and modernity. The same can be said for the meticulously honed rim around the roof.

    A UNIQUE LIGHT SIGNATURE

    4EVER Trophy puts a new twist on the Renault 4’s iconic wide horizontal grille featuring the round, built-in lamps, now with Matrix LED lights. The innovative lights give the vehicle a strong identity. While the recognisable pill-shaped rear lights have also been entirely redesigned, they remain readily recognisable and are a clear nod to the iconic 4L.

    A LIGHTWEIGHT OFF-ROADER EAGER TO EXPLORE

    An electric vehicle that ventures off the beaten track: that is what the rugged 4EVER Trophy show car conveys at first glance. The electric motor reflects the future production model.

    The low section on 4EVER Trophy, painted Gun Metal Silver, has been designed for the great outdoors. An open invitation to explore new horizons, this show car exudes a clearly adventurous spirit. It has a certain flair to its look with the silver coat, and magenta highlights on the roof straps, suspension springs and wheel emblems.

    The dune-buggy vibe gives 4EVER Trophy a competitive look. The hollowed-out bonnet has a huge air exhaust that vastly improves the efficacy of the radiator located in the centre of the shield. The front overhang has been shortened considerably for a greater clearance capacity.

    With a spare tyre located on the carbon fibre roof, and a shovel and waffle boards on the upper section of the rear door, the car is ready to tackle any situation.

    The vast body protection panels on the lower section are made with a considerable 20 cm clearance around the wheel arches. The high-seated body highlights the width of the 753 mm wheels mounted on 19 inch rims. The underbelly has been reinforced to provide greater protection for the battery located in the middle of the chassis.

    Each wheel on 4EVER Trophy has a visible compressor that can be readily adjusted from inside the car to adapt the tyre pressure to suit the terrain.

    While 4EVER Trophy is clearly an off-road car by nature, it was also designed to be enjoyed on any road, fuss-free. The future electric 4L aims to be as versatile as its predecessor once was – or rather has always been since 1962.

    A FUTURE B SEGMENT SUV

    The 4EVER Trophy show car paves the way for the future all-electric B Segment SUV that will be at ease on urban and rural roads alike.

    Like the Renault 5, it will be made using the new CMF-BEV platform for B segment electric vehicles. The platform will guarantee the best performance in terms of range, acoustics, and on-road behaviour, without compromising on the design.

    The market positioning of the future Renault 5 and Renault 4 will be much like that of Clio and Captur. The 4EVER Trophy and Renault 5 Prototype on display at the Renault stand during the Paris Motor Show embody Renault’s “nouvelle vague”.

    Like its predecessor, the future vehicle built off 4EVER Trophy’s design will be made in France. Thanks to their shared traits, all vehicles using the CMF-BEV platform will be built in the ElectriCity hub in northern France.

  2. EQE SUV è il nuovo SUV elettrico di Stoccarda e, ad oggi,  ultima delle vetture previste su piattaforma EVA2.

    Nonostante sia teoricamente vicino alla berlina EQE, ha un passo inferiore di 90mm, attestandosi ai 3030mm ed una lunghezza di 4863mm (-132mm).

    Mercedes afferma che il passo più corto rende l'auto più agile, una vera impresa per un'auto che pesa circa 2600 kg, ma tant'è.

    Il bagagliaio ha un volume di 520l, pressoché tanti quanti quelli fatti registrare dal capostipite EQC e decisamente meno del GLE a combustione che invece ne offre 630.

    All'interno troviamo l'ormai noto MBUX Hyperscreen con l'aggiunta di audio Dolby Atmos, aggiornamenti OTA e funzionalità sbloccabili a pacchetto a seconda delle esigenze del cliente.

    Mercedes ha anche pensato d'introdurre un filtro deell'aria HEPA.

    Nelle varianti 4Matic, il motore anteriore può essere completamente disaccoppiato, consentendo all'auto di diventare trazione posteriore e risparmiare sulla batteria. Anche qui c'è l'opzione della ruota posteriore sterzante, che, combinata con la sospensione anteriore a quattro e con la la sospensione multi-link nella parte posteriore, dicono renda l'auto agile quanto le macchine di segmento inferiore, stando a Mercedes.

     

    Le versioni disponibili sono:

    - EQE SUV 350+ a motore singolo posteriore da 215 kW e 565 Nm con range tra 480 e 590km;

    - EQE SUV 350 4MATIC con doppio motore e trazione integrale, 215 kW e 765 Nm con range tra 459 e 588km;

    - EQE SUV 500 4MATIC con doppio motore e trazione integrale, 300 kW e 808 Nm con range tra 460 e 547 km.

     

    La ricarica del pacco batterie da 90,6 kWh può essere caricato sino a 170 kW.

    Verrà prodotto in Alabama, nello stesso stabilimento in cui viene prodotto il fratello maggiore.

    The EQE SUV is the multi-purpose variant of the EQE executive saloon. Like the latter, it is available with the essential innovations of the EQS and at the same time is more dynamic than the EQS SUV. The EQE SUV is one of the most spacious representatives of its class. Yet it is more compact than the EQE Saloon and, at 3030 millimetres, has a wheelbase that is nine centimetres shorter. The external dimensions are 4863/1940/1686 millimetres (length/width1/height). As the fourth model after the two EQS and EQE Saloons as well as the EQS SUV, the EQE SUV uses the new all-electric platform.

    Up to 590 kilometres2range

    The modular drive concept enables the EQE SUV to offer a wide range of maximum total drive outputs from 215 to 300 kW. Depending on the vehicle equipment and configuration, the European vehicles can achieve WLTP ranges of up to 590 kilometres2. In the EQE SUV, the lithium-ion battery consists of ten modules. In certain cases the innovative battery management software, which was developed in-house, can be updated over-the-air (OTA).

    Extensive range of driving assistance systems

    The current generation of driving assistance systems includes numerous functions that support the driver. The general standard equipment of the EQE SUV includes ATTENTION ASSIST, Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Parking Package with reversing camera and Speed Limit Assist. The status and activity of the systems are shown in a full-screen view in the assistance display in the driver's display. Further options are available in the Assistance Package and also the Driving Assistance Plus Package.

    Particularly manoeuvrable and agile

    The chassis of the new EQE SUV comprises a four-link suspension at the front and an independent multi-link suspension at the rear. Due to the comparatively short wheelbase of 3030 millimetres and the corresponding suspension tuning, it feels particularly agile and manoeuvrable even with the basic set-up. The AIRMATIC air suspension with ADS+ continuously adjustable damping is available as an optional extra. To increase ground clearance, the vehicle level can be raised by up to 30 millimetres3. In addition to the DYNAMIC SELECT programs of ECO, COMFORT, SPORT and INDIVIDUAL, the EQE SUV models with 4MATIC also boast the OFFROAD program for off-road driving. A rear axle steering system with a maximum steering angle of 10 degrees is available as an option.

    Always up to date

    The EQE SUV offers the possibility of activating additional vehicle functions via over-the-air technology (OTA) in a number of functional areas. This means that after purchase and having chosen the original new car configuration, some of the EQE SUV's equipment can be individually customised. The OTA functions are available in the Mercedes me Store, and the range will be successively expanded.

    MBUX Hyperscreen on request

    With adaptive software, the MBUX display and operating system makes personalised suggestions for numerous infotainment, comfort and vehicle functions. A highlight of the interior is the optional MBUX Hyperscreen. With the zero-layer design, the user does not have to scroll through submenus or give voice commands. Situational and contextual applications are offered at the top level in the field of view. With the MBUX Hyperscreen (optional extra), three displays merge almost seamlessly into one another to create a screen band over 141 centimetres wide. The front passenger in the EQE SUV has the option of a 12.3-inch OLED display with its own user interface. The system uses an intelligent, camera-based blocking logic that recognises if the driver is looking toward the front passenger display. If this is the case, the system automatically dims the dynamic content for security reasons (see separate chapter).

    Clever route planning

    When it comes to Navigation with Electric Intelligence, the name says it all. For on the basis of numerous factors it plans the fastest and most convenient route including charging stops. It also reacts dynamically to traffic jams or a change in driving style, for example. Navigation with Electric Intelligence is clever; it calculates the estimated charging costs per charging stop. Furthermore, the customer can edit the planned routes individually. They can edit the planned routes individually by adding in preferred charging stations along the route or excluding proposed charging stations.

    Heat pump as standard

    The EQE SUV features a sophisticated thermal architecture with a heat pump as standard. This makes the system work very efficiently: the waste heat from the electric drive (inverter and electric motor) and also the high-voltage battery can be used to heat the interior. This reduces drastically the draw on battery power for the heating system, thus increasing the range. Another pleasant and efficient function is pre-entry climate control. The THERMATIC automatic climate control system with two climate zones is fitted as standard, while the THERMOTRONIC with four zones is available as an option.

    New sound experience

    "Serene Breeze" is the name of the new, fourth soundscape that makes its debut in the EQE SUV. It offers a relaxed and natural sound. With the holistic sound staging, the paradigm shift from combustion engine to electric car becomes audible for the occupants in the Mercedes-EQ models. A variety of soundscapes allows for an individual acoustic set-up. An optional interior driving sound is available. This adjusts adaptively to the driving style.

    Tailor-made charging rates

    Since June 2022, Mercedes me Charge4 has been offering three new charging tariffs in Europe that are tailored to individual driving performance. Mercedes me Charge S for occasional chargers, Mercedes me Charge M for normal chargers and Mercedes me Charge L for frequent chargers. With the introduction of the new, transparent tariff system, customers have access in part to fixed prices that apply regardless of the operator. With the Plug & Charge function, the EQE SUV can also be conveniently charged.

    A host of high-tech features

    DIGITAL LIGHT headlamp technology (special equipment) makes innovative functions possible, such as the projection of auxiliary markings or warning symbols onto the road. Another equipment highlight is ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL Plus. A HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter cleans the incoming outside air at its very high filtration level. ENERGIZING COMFORT links together various comfort systems in the vehicle. The individual ENERGIZING COMFORT programmes enable a special feel-good programme depending on the mood or needs of the customer. This enhances physical comfort and performance while driving and during a break. The Dolby Atmos sound formatÒ takes the audio experience in the EQE SUV to a new level.

    Distinctive purpose design

    The proportions of the EQE SUV combine function and aesthetics with the sporty character of the SUV. The new model, with its unmistakable purpose design, marks a turning point in its class. The overhangs and the front-end assembly have been kept compact. The wheels in sizes from 19 to 22 inches are positioned flush with the outer edge of the body and lend a commanding stance.

    A great deal of aerodynamic fine tuning

    The EQE SUV shares some aerodynamic measures with its model brothers. The underbody with its numerous aerodynamic details plays a central role in a very good Cd value from 0.255, which was achieved despite the large load volume and short rear overhang. But the dimensional concept with the flat windscreen, sweeping roof line and indents were also important factors.

    MBUX Hyperscreen and leather-free equipment available

    The EQE SUV is based on the large electric platform from Mercedes‑EQ. On top of this it boasts an interior that has been consistently digitalised. The optionally available MBUX Hyperscreen implements this vision to impressive effect. The standard Electric Art interior does not make use of any leather at all.6

    High level of passive safety

    The principles of Integral Safety apply regardless of the type of drive system. Like all other Mercedes‑Benz models, the EQS SUV therefore has a rigid passenger compartment, special deformation zones and state-of-the-art restraint systems. The European version of the EQE SUV can detect whether the rear seats are actually occupied. If a passenger in the rear is not wearing a seat belt, the driver receives a specific warning. The so-called occupant presence reminder can indicate children who may have been overlooked in the rear of the vehicle. In vehicles for Europe, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada, this system is on board as standard.

    CO₂-neutral production as part of the eco-balance

    Production of the EQE SUV will start at the Mercedes‑Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (USA) in December. The battery factory in nearby Bibb County supplies the batteries for this model as well as for the EQS SUV. Since this year, all of Mercedes‑Benz's own passenger car and van plants worldwide have achieved CO₂-neutral production as part of their eco-balance - including the two Mercedes‑Benz plants in Alabama.

    Per chi vuole più prestazioni c'è AMG EQE SUV che si distingue per look dedicato sia dentro che fuori (iterazione EV della calandra Panamericana) e ad assetto, sterzo e sospensioni rivisitate.

    Se EQE SUV 43 4MATIC mantiene lo stesso propulsore dell'EQE 500, andando ad aggiungere kW in più (350 kW), il più prestante 53 4MATIC+ ottiene numerose modifiche al motore elettrico, con inverter nuovi, sistema di raffreddamento potenziato, cavi ad hoc ed un boost in quanto a potenza (460 kW e 950 Nm).

    Se volete ancora di più dal primo SUV elettirico di AMG, l'AMG Dynamic Plus pack aggiunge le modalità di guida Race Start e Boost che permettono di ottenere, a seconda dello stato di carica e della temperatura del pacco batterie, 505 kW e 1000Nm.

    AMG EQE SUV è disponibile, di serie, con cerchioni da 21'' e pneumatici Michelin Pilot Sport EV MO1; sono anche disponibili come optional dei 22'' o 23''.

    Mercedes-AMG presents the EQE SUV, a further milestone in its electrification strategy – the first all-electric SUV from the performance and sports car brand. With its variable interior and performance-oriented drive concept, it is the most versatile electric vehicle in the Mercedes-AMG portfolio. The new model also offers generous space for passengers and luggage. Like the AMG EQS Saloon and AMG EQE Saloon, the AMG EQE SUV is based on the electric platform from Mercedes-EQ. Two powerful electric motors and the fully variable all-wheel drive form the basis for the hallmark AMG dynamic driving experience. The Mercedes-AMG developers have also designed many other parameters independently. These include the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension with Adaptive Damping System, rear-axle steering and AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL – an AMG-specific roll stabilisation system. Added to this are the AMG SOUND EXPERIENCE and the exterior and interior design.     Non trovate alcun aggiornamento sulla famiglia Classe A poiché è stato appena presentato il modello ristilizzato.

  4. In America debutta la nuova Chevrolet Trax, modello che sostiuisce la precedente generazione conosciuta anche in Europa e fuori produzione negli USA da diversi mesi.

    Se vi sembra familiare, non sbagliate, è sostanzialmente la Seeker vista in Cina qualche mese fa e si imporrà come nuova entry level di Chevrolet (da 21k dolllari circa) benché sia leggermente più grande di Trailblazer (4,54m contro i 4,41m).

    Oltre agli allestimenti LT, LS, 1RS e 2RS troviamo anche il nuovo ACTIV, con un aspetto un po’ più rugged come di attuale moda.

    Il motore, però è un 1.2 Turbo a 3 cilindri da 139 cv e 219 Nm, a trazione anteriore e con cambio automatico a 6 rapporti.

    La dotazione è già molto completa dagli allestimenti base con schermo infotainment da 8” per poi passare agli 11” dei top di gamma; molto ampio anche il corredo di ADAS.

    Verrà prodotta nello stabilimento sudcoreano dove veniva assemblata la Spark.

    DETROIT – Chevrolet today introduced a reimagined Trax — a new, technology-forward choice for customers seeking the practicality of a compact car and the utility of an SUV.

    Larger than today’s Trax, it provides more space for passengers and cargo, along with more standard and available content. A robust array of standard safety features and a suite of technologies will help keep customers connected, all at a starting MSRP of only $21,4951.

    “The all-new Trax has everything you need and nothing you don’t,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet. “More space. More features. More style. This is an entry-level vehicle that will surprise and delight customers with its value and plays a critical role as the gateway into the Chevy brand.”

    Five distinct personalities — LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS and ACTIV — offer design and content choices, while all trims add enhanced features and technologies, including:

    • Chevy Safety Assist2 with six advanced safety and driver awareness technologies
    • Larger infotainment3 screens — a standard 8-inch-diagonal system and an 11-inch-diagonal screen on LT, 2RS and ACTIV trims
    • Wireless Apple CarPlay4 and Android Auto5capability
    • LED headlamps
    • 17-inch, 18-inch or 19-inch wheels
    • Four-wheel disc brakes
    • Active Noise Cancellation

    Additional new features on most trims include push-button start, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging6 and more. Cruise control is also standard equipment on all models and Adaptive Cruise Control2is available on some trims, a first for Trax.

    The new Trax is powered by a 1.2L turbocharged inline-three engine rated at a GM-estimated 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. It is matched with a proven six-speed automatic transmission. The turbo contributes to excellent on-demand power, particularly for passing maneuvers and on-ramp acceleration.

    Modern and purposeful design

    Longer, lower and wider than the current model, the 2024 Trax introduces an athletic, muscular design inspired by the Chevrolet Blazer.

    “The bold exterior and tech-forward interior design of the all-new Trax redefines what an entry-level vehicle can be,” said Phil Zak, executive design director, Global Chevrolet. “It demonstrates that modern, stylish design doesn’t have to come at a premium.”  

    At the front, sleek horizontal lines emphasize the vehicle’s width and are designed around the lines of the iconic Chevy bowtie at the center of the grille, which flow outward to the slim, Blazer-inspired headlamps that feature all-new LED lighting elements. Chevy-signature high-eye LED daytime running lamps make the Trax more visible, day or night.

    A sleeker side profile is enhanced by a 4-inch-lower (101 mm) overall height than the current model, while strong “shoulders” in the body contribute to a taut, muscular presence and strong stance.

    Each trim has specific design cues, including specific grille designs and wheels, as well as unique décor, depending on the model:

    • LS and LT feature clean, straightforward designs, with additional bright trim on LT. 17-inch steel wheels are standard on LS and 17-inch machined aluminum wheels are standard on LT.
    • RS trims offer the Trax’s sportiest design with additional exterior trim accents, as well as a unique grille with an embedded RS badge. The 1RS trim includes unique 18-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels and the 2RS features 19-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels.
    • The new ACTIV has a monochromatic look including titanium chrome accents and an aggressive-looking rear skid plate motif. It also features unique black 18-inch wheels.

    New dimensions enhance driving experience, spaciousness

    The new Trax’s larger dimensions pay dividends when it comes to the driving experience and interior spaciousness, with its nearly 6-inch-longer wheelbase and wider track offering more composed ride and handling characteristics, compared to the current model.

    Inside, the 11-inch greater length and 2-inch greater width than the current model translates into greater roominess and cargo capacity, including 3 inches more rear legroom, which increases comfort for rear-seat passengers, and maximum cargo capacity that increases by nearly 12%.

    Technology-forward interior

    Trax’s interior was designed to have a lightweight feel, achieved with sweeping lines and light, technical cues that emphasize the vehicle’s width and create a sense of airiness — all enabled by the vehicle’s longer, lower and wider platform.

    The low instrument panel enhances outward visibility and contributes to the feeling of airiness, while a technical texture pattern sweeps across, adding depth. Other elements take inspirations from other recent Chevy performance vehicle designs, including signature round vents and more.

    Display screens are the centerpiece of the tech-forward design, with the infotainment screen canted slightly toward the driver, for more intuitive control. LS and 1RS trims feature an 8-inch-diagonal infotainment color touchscreen, while LT, 2RS and ACTIV have an 11-inch-diagonal infotainment color touchscreen and an 8-inch-diagonal driver information center.

    The different trims also receive their own décor and accents, including:

    • LT features black seats with Sky Cool Gray accents
    • 2RS features red accents on the seats and a racing-inspired flat-bottom steering wheel
    • ACTIV features Evotex seats with yellow accents
    • RS and ACTIV trims feature black bowtie emblems

    Additional standard and available content include:

    • Center console with ergonomically optimized shifter location
    • An electronic parking brake opens up more storage space in the console
    • Four bottle holders and two cupholders
    • Heated front seats, steering wheel and outside mirrors are standard on 1RS, 2RS and ACTIV and available on LT. Heated front seats and outside mirrors are available on LS
    • Remote start standard on 1RS, LT, 2RS and ACTIV and available on LS
    • Automatic climate control, push-button start and added rear-seat USB ports on LT, 2RS and ACTIV
    • Power-adjustable driver’s seat on ACTIV
    • Available sunroof

    For the first time on Trax, customers can wirelessly connect Apple CarPlay4 or Android Auto5 to the infotainment system, while wireless phone charging6 is a new available feature on LT, 2RS and ACTIV. Trax also continues to offer Wi-Fi Hotspot capability7.

    Chevy Safety Assist and more

    When it comes to safety and driver awareness technology, the 2024 Trax ups the ante with new, standard Chevy Safety Assist2 — a suite of six advanced safety and driver awareness technologies that include:

    • Automatic Emergency Braking
    • Front Pedestrian Braking
    • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
    • Forward Collision Alert
    • IntelliBeam auto high-beam control
    • Following Distance Indicator

    A Rear Vision Camera2 is also standard, while Adaptive Cruise Control2, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert 2, Rear Cross Traffic Alert2 and Rear Park Assist2 are available.

    Concordo a pieno.

     

    Ciò detto e al netto del mio esser di parte, la trovo davvero bellissima.

    Come detto più volte, Polestar ad oggi è l'unico brand per cui farei il passaggio da combustione ad elettrico e probabilmente la mia scelta ricadrebbe sulla 2.

  6. Dopo innumerevoli leaks, BMW ce l'ha fatta: ecco la nuova M2 in tutta la sua gloria. Equipaggiata con il 3.0 TwinPower Turbo sei cilindri in linea, della famiglia S58, offre 460 cv, 550 Nm di coppia e cambio manuale a 6 rapporti (l'automatico a 8 è optional).

    Il frontale è caratterizzato dall'inedito doppio rene con listelli orizzontali, ennesima variazione sul tema da parte di BMW; per il resto come da prassi troviamo prese d'aria, diffusore posteriore, spoiler, tetto in carbonio e carreggiate allargate.

    Il peso dichiarato della nuova M2 è di 1730 kg per la manuale e 1754 kg per l'automatica.

    I cerchi sono da 19'' con pneumatici 275/35 R19 all'anteriore e da 20'' con pneumatici 285/30 al posteriore; di serie troviamo il differenziale attivo e le sospensioni adattive!

    All'interno ovviamente iDrive8 con controlli e configurazioni specifiche (M Setup) per settare telaio, frenata, sterzo, M Traction Control della M2 come si desidera.

    Verrà costruita nello stabilimento di Saint Luis Potosì in Messico.

    The new BMW M2 delivers signature M performance in a highly concentrated form. With its 338 kW/460 hp six-cylinder in-line engine, an optionally available six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, the second generation of the compact high-performance sports car promises unadulterated driving pleasure. The debut of the new BMW M2 marks another highlight event in the model offensive celebrating the 50-year anniversary of BMW M GmbH, while making the first step into the world of its high-performance cars an even more enticing one.

    Compact dimensions together with powertrain and chassis technology adapted from the BMW M3/BMW M4 are at the heart of a vehicle concept that endows the new edition of the two-door model with beguiling agility and handling that remain easily controllable even as the driver explores the car’s limits. This distinct character profile also manifests itself in the expressive exterior design with its athletic coupé proportions. The sophisticated control/operating concept for customising the vehicle setup also helps to produce a performance experience of remarkable intensity. Thanks to these many attributes, the new BMW M2 continues the brand’s tradition of ultra-sporty models with compact dimensions that began in 1973 with the arrival of the BMW 2002 turbo. It is also building on the success of its predecessor, which notched up nearly 60,000 sales worldwide.

    The global launch of the new BMW M2 will get underway in April 2023. It will be built alongside the new BMW 2 Series Coupé at the BMW Group’s San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico.

     

    Compact dimensions, extremely powerful proportions.

    The athletic appearance of the new BMW M2 stems from its compact dimensions, extremely powerful proportions and hallmark M design features. It measures 214 millimetres less in exterior length than the BMW M4 Coupé models and has a 110-millimetre shorter wheelbase. At the same time, the vehicle and track widths exceed the figures for the new BMW 2 Series Coupé by a considerable margin.

    The large, frameless BMW kidney grille with its horizontal bars combines with a three-section lower air intake with almost rectangular contours to give the front end of the car a familiar M look. The design has been crafted around technical requirements in terms of cooling air supply and aerodynamic balance. Clearly designed surfaces, prominently flared side skirts and muscular wheel arches set the tone for the side view. The rear end of the new BMW M2 also has a compact, powerful feel and adds a number of individual touches in the form of the eye-catching spoiler lip on the boot lid, the vertically arranged reflectors, the rear apron’s diffuser insert – with its puristic design – and the two pairs of exhaust tailpipes positioned a long way in from the outer edges.

    The choice of five exterior paint finishes available for the new BMW M2 includes the Zandvoort Blue solid and Toronto Red metallic shades exclusive to this model. An M Carbon roof that reduces vehicle weight by around six kilograms is offered as an option.

     

    Six-cylinder in-line engine with instantaneous power delivery and a thrilling appetite for revs.

    The version of the straight-six engine developed for the compact high-performance model with M TwinPower Turbo technology and high-revving design stands out with its M-typical performance characteristics. Differing only in a small number of details from the engine employed in the BMW M3 and BMW M4 models, the 3.0-litre unit thrills with its urgent response, healthy appetite for revs and linear power delivery into the highest reaches of the engine speed range.

    Developing a maximum output of 338 kW/460 hp, the engine under the bonnet of the new BMW M2 outguns the base unit used by its predecessor by 66 kW/90 hp. Peak torque of 550 Nm (405 lb-ft) is produced between 2,650 and 5,870 rpm with maximum output arriving at 6,250 rpm. The new engine revs to a maximum 7,200 rpm. The pulsating build-up of power is accompanied by an emotionally rich soundtrack generated by the M-specific exhaust system with electrically controlled flaps. The system of oil supply is designed to handle extremely dynamic driving situations when out on the track, as is the cooling system.

     

    A choice of performance experience: eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic as standard, six-speed manual gearbox as an option.

    The engine’s power is relayed to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic as standard. Its extremely sporty gear shifts, direct connection to the engine and ability to execute multiple downshifts to the lowest available gear form the ideal basis for beguiling, instantaneous acceleration. It is operated by means of a selector lever sporting the latest M design as well as shift paddles on the steering wheel. The Drivelogic function offers a choice of three shift settings.

    A six-speed manual gearbox is available as an option for anyone seeking a performance experience in the classical mould, rooted in the intense interaction between driver and car. It lends itself to a sporty style of driving thanks not only to its precisely defined shift action, but also the Gear Shift Assistant, which uses engagement speed control to ensure slip-free operation when downshifting under braking into corners. If required, the Gear Shift Assistant can be deactivated in the M Setup menu.

    The new BMW M2 completes the sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in 4.1 seconds with the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and in 4.3 seconds when fitted with the six-speed manual gearbox. It is capable of powering from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 13.5 seconds (automatic) or 14.3 seconds (manual). The limited top speed of the new BMW M2 can be raised from 250 km/h (155 mph) to 285 km/h (177 mph) by specifying the optional M Driver’s Package.

     

    Rear-wheel drive, M Traction Control and Active M Differential provide agility, precision and driving pleasure as the occasion demands.

    Regardless of the choice of transmission, the new BMW M2’s traditional form of dynamic performance is also embodied by its rear-wheel drive. The linear build-up of lateral acceleration forces characteristic of M models helps the driver to guide the car through corners with controlled drifts, for example. The standard M Traction Control function is also designed to allow the driver to carefully probe the vehicle’s performance limits by setting individual intervention thresholds for wheel slip limitation, with a choice of ten stages.

    Another contributor to the sublime dynamics of the BMW M2 is the Active M Differential at the rear axle. Also included as standard, it is able to seamlessly generate a locking effect of up to 100 per cent whenever required. This optimises traction on road surfaces offering different levels of adhesion for the left- and right-hand rear wheel, for example, as well as improving power transfer when accelerating hard out of corners.

     

    Sophisticated chassis technology, precisely controllable handling.

    The new BMW M2’s compact dimensions, short wheelbase, almost perfectly balanced 50:50 weight distribution and sophisticated chassis technology combine to deliver precisely controllable, fingertip handling. The car’s agility, dynamism and precision also gain from the excellent torsional stiffness of the body structure and chassis mountings helped by bespoke bracing.

    Both the double-joint spring strut front axle and the five-link rear axle come with M-specific kinematics. The standard equipment roster for the new BMW M2 includes adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, M Servotronic steering with variable ratio, DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) including M Dynamic Mode, and powerful M Compound brakes with six-piston, fixed-calliper brakes at the front and single-piston, floating-calliper brakes at the rear. The integrated braking system presents the driver with two pedal feel settings. The new BMW M2 comes with 19-inch light-alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch items at the rear, each representing an increase of one inch on the diameter of the wheels fitted as standard on the BMW M3 and BMW M4 models. There is also the option of fitting them with track tyres.

     

    Advanced sports car cockpit with BMW Curved Display as standard and the option of M Carbon bucket seats.

    The new BMW M2 boasts a cockpit with a driver-centric design featuring M-specific readouts, controls and setup options, as well as the advanced BMW Curved Display. Driving-related information including Shift Lights appears in a new graphical layout on the 12.3-inch information display. M-specific widgets for vehicle setup and tyre condition are just two of the items that can be called up in the 14.9-inch control display. The optional BMW Head-Up Display also features M-specific readouts.

    Both the BMW Curved Display and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant form part of the latest-generation BMW iDrive. Based on BMW Operating System 8, it has been purpose designed for intuitive interaction between driver and vehicle using touch control and natural language. The new BMW iDrive system enables personalisation with the BMW ID and My BMW App as well as allowing a Personal eSIM to be used in the vehicle. Smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ is likewise included as standard on the new BMW M2, and there is also a 5G antenna system for optimised connectivity.

    The driver and front passenger are welcomed as standard by sport seats in a model-specific design with Sensatec/Alcantara surfaces. M Sport seats with integral head restraints and perforated surfaces in Vernasca leather/Sensatec are available as an alternative. The M Carbon bucket seats that can also be found on the options list use carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the structural elements of the seat cushion and backrest and also feature cut-outs in the side bolsters and below the head restraints, thereby shaving around 10.8 kilograms off the vehicle’s weight.

     

    Three-zone automatic climate control, BMW Maps navigation system, Setup button and M Drive Professional as standard.

    The comfort features fitted as standard in the new BMW M2 include three-zone automatic climate control, BMW Live Cockpit Plus complete with BMW Maps navigation system, ambient lighting and the Hi-Fi speaker system. When it comes to automated driving and parking systems, the Front Collision Warning, Speed Limit Display with no-overtaking indicator, Lane Departure Warning and Park Distance Control functions all come as standard. The Driving Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and the Parking Assistant including Reversing Assistant are just some of the options available.

    The Setup button on the centre console provides direct access to the settings options for the engine, chassis, steering, braking system and M Traction Control, as well as the Gear Shift Assistant if fitted. Two overall vehicle setups can be stored and then retrieved using the M buttons on the steering wheel.

    Besides M Traction Control, the standard-fit M Drive Professional also includes the M Drift Analyser and M Laptimer. Plus, the M Mode button on the centre console can be used to adjust both the level of driver assistance system activity and the content shown in the information display and Head-Up Display, with a choice of ROAD, SPORT and TRACK settings.

    Also on the options list is the M Race Track Package, comprising the M Driver’s Package together with the M Carbon roof, M Carbon bucket seats, interior trim strips in Carbon Fibre finish and track tyres.

    Renault Korea Motors is launching an all-new vehicle lineup of fuel-efficient Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) models on D segment based on the latest Geely-Volvo technologies for both local and export markets starting 2024.

    Renault Korea Motors will be able to bring to the customers premium features and industry-leading technology through new services in the cars, with new services coming up each 6 months (connectivity or sales services).

    This body shape unveils the proportions and dynamic lines of the next RKM coupe SUV. This vehicle will be designed, developed & produced in South Korea. It will carry the brand's ambitions through a breakthrough, modern and attractive style that will then be extended to the entire range.

    This vehicle also demonstrates RKM’s ability to capitalize on the new and very promising hybrid platform. It will take its occupants into a future where technology and innovation will connect mobility and digital life and offer caring services to our customers.
