Per determinare se un auto abbia successo o no basta vedere il target annuale ( alla presentazione di un nuovo modello le case lo dichiarano sempre) poi vedere i dati annuali e se si vuole anche quelli mensili. Altea boosts SEAT sales in Germany The Spanish market leads the Altea sales ranking, followed by the German market, where the Altea was launched in June and which in scarcely five months, by the end of October, had already reached the 6,500 units mark. It is worth emphasising that Germany was the country in which SEAT sold most Altea units in October, with a total of 2,080 cars, 1,230 more than in September. In October SEAT sold almost 5,400 cars in Germany, 16% more than in the same month in 2003. Similarly, from January to the end of October, the Spanish brand has sold more than 50,800 vehicles in this country, which means a rise of 2.8% in comparison with the same period last year. These facts confirm that these are good times for SEAT Germany in a country with a very competitive automobile market and one in which, in comparison with 2003, sales have fallen 1.8 per cent. Poi è sempre possibile che raggiungano il target facendo sconti enormi, questo non lo so ma di fatto l' Altea non è un insuccesso.
  5. Le dimissioni di Hartz hanno una forte valenza per le future strategie di Volkswagen ma anche per la politica tedesca. La "Hartz IV" è la legge approvata nel 2004 che rivoluziona ( in parte ) il ricchissimo welfare tedesco. La caduta di Hartz è un ulteriore segnale che il sistema di potere socilademocratico creato da Schroeder sta crollando. Tutto ciò mi rende piuttosto felice; Schroeder è riuscito a far sforare il trattato di Maastricht per ben 6 anni di fila, la Germania è il paese che negli ultimi 5 anni è cresciuto di meno in Europa.   9. John De Nisschen ( capo di Audi Usa) ha detto che il target è di 50.000-60.000 e che circa il 60% saranno per il mercato nord americano. A me piace moltissimo la Q7 ma credo che le dimensioni siano esagerate. 5 metri di macchina non sono il massimo per girare nelle città italiane.

  11. La Magna è canadese, non tedesca. La scelta secondo me deriva dal fatto che Marchionne ha impresso un' accelerazione sul progetto Stilo dopo che era stato più volte bloccato.
  12. Ho trovato questo articolo su automotive news europe che mi sembra una fonte piuttosto autorevole. La Fiat ha chiesto all Daimler-Magna Steyr di aiutarla nella progettazione della Stilo perchè Marchionne vuole che la nuova Stilo sia commercializzata entro il 2007 ( presentata addirittura nel 2006) e la Fiat è molto in ritardo col progetto. Sono state già rifiutate due proposte di design. Non mi sembra niente di scandaloso dato che ormai le case delegano moltissimi compiti durante lo sviluppo ai fornitori. The lower-medium Stilo is Fiat's third-best-selling model, the success of its replacement is crucial to Fiat's recovery. Marchionne wants production of the new Stilo to start by the end of 2006, with sales beginning by summer 2007 at the latest. That means a time to market of 20 months. By comparison, best-practice competitors need more than two years to do the same. The reason for the rush is that previous Fiat regimes delayed development of the Stilo replacement by twice rejecting designs. The final design was signed off in April. Marchionne, who became Fiat Auto's CEO in February, wants the new model developed quickly because the current Stilo is selling well below its target. Fiat introduced the current Stilo in September 2001 with a 400,000 units-a-year sales target. Last year Fiat built 108,778 Stilos. The Italian carmaker hopes to sell 120,000-150,000 units a year of the next Stilo, supplier sources say. For its new Croma upper-medium car, Fiat subcontracted engineering to Italdesign Giugiaro. Engineering company Stola developed the 159 lower-premium car for Fiat brand Alfa Romeo. Both will be entry-level vehicles. One is expected to be aimed at the all-wheel-drive Subaru Forester sport wagon, according to an industry source who asked not to be identified. Jeep has not said what vehicles are planned. But industry sources say Jeep's first car-based models will share a platform with the sleek, front-wheel-drive Dodge Caliber hatchback, which replaces the Dodge Neon. That platform was engineered for awd applications. The two Jeeps are code-named MK49 and MK74, according to the source. The MK49 will have awd, sporty styling with a wagon silhouette that is low to the ground. The MK74 will have a taller roofline so it looks more like an SUV, and the wheelbase is expected to be slightly longer. While the MK49 is expected to be targeted at Forester buyers, the MK74 will be aimed at Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 buyers. The Caliber will go into production in March 2006, followed by the MK49 in July and the MK74 in September. The vehicle platform was co-engineered with Mitsubishi Motors Corp. The MK74 will have estimated annual production of 45,000 to 50,000 units and the MK49 about 40,000. Among the names being considered for the Jeep vehicles are Patriot, Scout and Compass. Last year, Jeep sold 427,239 units with three nameplates, the Grand Cherokee, Liberty and Wrangler. This fall, the Commander will be added. It shares a platform with the Grand Cherokee and offers seven-passenger seating. The Commander is expected to be priced above the Grand Cherokee.

James G. Selwa, 53, will run Fiat Auto’s Maserati and Alfa Romeo brands in North America, according to sources. Selwa was tapped by former BMW executive and Rolls-Royce chief Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, who is running Alfa Romeo worldwide. Earlier this year, Kalbfell confirmed that Alfa plans to return to the United States but would not give a date, saying “North America is a must for a brand like Alfa Romeo.” Kalbfell joined Alfa Romeo on Jan. 1 and has said he would recruit several seasoned auto executives from outside the company to run various business units. He added the title of CEO of Maserati on Feb. 21 after the Fiat group decided to link Maserati to Alfa Romeo. In the United States, most Maserati stores are owned by Ferrari dealers. The Italian brand was relaunched in 2002. Rolls-Royce says no successor has yet been named to run its North American subsidiary. Selwa has a proven track record for start ups. Rolls-Royce credits him with establishing the importer organization and the dealer network in North America, where the brand was relaunched in January 2003.
