Fiat ha due centri ricerca COMAU ed un polo produttivo del medesimo negli USA da una vita - oltre che aggiungere al totale, come già detto, quello dei dipendenti Chrysler all'atto dell'acquisto della medesima............della serie.............così sobboni tutti ! Non si smentiscono mai quelli de Il Fattaccio......

È stata questa la reazione di molti osservatori italiani, a Detroit, di fronte alla notizia. Scetticismo lontano dall’apprezzamento con cui ha reagito la stampa internazionale

A Detroit, in concomitanza con la conferenza stampa tenuta al salone dell’auto da John Elkann e Sergio Marchionne, è arrivato il comunicato che annunciava l’assunzione di 1.500 persone a Melfi e la fine della cassa di integrazione. I 37 giornalisti italiani presenti parevano sorpresi sì, ma anche annoiati di fronte alla notizia, tanto da far dire al presidente Elkann: «Pensavamo di trovare più entusiasmo. Assumiamo, non licenziamo».

L’incredulità sui social

Un legame, questo dell’Italia con Fiat, che continua ad assomigliare al rapporto di due amanti che vorrebbero lasciarsi, hanno bisogno uno dell’altro, ma si sopportano a malapena. Il frutto di anni di cattiva informazione, di sindacati che hanno difeso la poltrona prima di tutelare i veri interessi dei lavoratori, ma anche la colpa — va detto — di amministratori del Lingotto che hanno gestito il potere con arroganza. L’arrivo di Sergio Marchionne, nel giugno del 2004, in un’azienda alla deriva, aveva provocato la stessa incredulità vista ieri davanti a quel comunicato. Riuscirà questo manager, sconosciuto in Italia, a risollevare le sorti del primo gruppo industriale italiano o finirà col venderlo, come suggerivano alcuni banchieri che oggi flirtano con la politica? Ora che a distanza di dieci anni, dopo una trasformazione epocale, Fiat ha acquisito il terzo costruttore americano Chrysler e si è rafforzata come azienda globale, presente in oltre 100 Paesi, grazie a prodotti apprezzati per il loro valore, perché c’è ancora di tanto scetticismo? (Sui social in molti si chiedono se la storia delle 1.500 assunzioni sia vera... Come se una società, quotata in borsa in America e in Italia, possa comunicarle al capo del governo senza farle!).

La memoria corta

Gli italiani — come diceva Enzo Ferrari — non sanno perdonare il successo? Preferiscono piangersi addosso? Forse Fiat non è più capace di comunicare se stessa? Fatto sta che al salone di Detroit la stampa non italiana diceva: voi avete la bella notizia, quella che vale di più della presentazione di un modello, quella che dà fiducia al settore. Eppure tra gli italiani e la Fiat vi è stata una vera storia d’amore, perché nessuno ricorda l’orgoglio di milioni di operai che si sono sentiti parte dell’azienda, condividendo il successo di un modello costruito dalle loro mani, con le doti che solo la manovalanza italiana possiede, la fierezza con cui alla fine del loro percorso aziendale si dichiaravano anziani Fiat? Perché non si ricorda la marcia, silenziosa, negli «anni di piombo», a Torino, di migliaia di dipendenti che volevano dimostrare il diritto di entrare liberamente nella loro fabbrica, per lavorare? Perché non si ricordano gli emigranti a cui Fiat aveva dato dignità, casa, scuole, servizi sociali, benessere? Questa storia d’amore deve essere ricucita. Sergio Marchionne, che ha lasciato l’Italia a 14 anni, con la Fiat nel cuore, riuscirà anche in questa impresa?

Semi OT. Nel corso della presentazione, il CEO di RAM Bob Hegbloom ha annunciato che il 1500 MY 2015 col diesel passa da 28 a 29 MPG su autostrada. Credo che 'sta sorpresona abbia mandato per traverso la giornata e non solo a quelli di Ford !!!!!!!

Secondo me, un po' e un po': soluzione ZF "customizzata". Peraltro è già quello che avviene per i cambi che io sappia:D

I 350 dipendenti trasferiti da altri stabilimenti vedranno sconvolte le loro abitudini di vita.

I 1000 nuovi lavoratori, inizialmente inseriti con contratto di somministrazione, saranno sfruttati e, anche se si dovesse arrivare alla loro stabilizzazione attraverso il contratto a tutele crescenti del JobsAct, saranno sempre sotto ricatto e sotto minaccia di licenziamento.

Questo detto da un giornale molto vicino ad un certo sindacato.

Non c'è speranza, siamo un paese finito.

The next Alfa Romeo vehicles following the 4C and 4C Spider will be a mid-size sedan comparable to a BMW 3-Series and a mid-size sport utility vehicle smaller than the Grand Cherokee.

Harald Wester, head of Alfa Romeo, confirmed the vehicles during a media roundtable Monday on the sidelines of the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The sedan and SUV are two of the eight vehicles the brand is expected to launch by 2018 under a previously announced $6 billion plan.

Wester said the two new vehicles, as the 4C models were, will be designed and built in Italy.

The mid-size sedan will be unveiled at a 105th anniversary celebration for the brand on June 24, 2015. The unveiling will coincide with the re-opening of Alfa Romeo's museum in Milan, Italy, that has been shuttered in recent years.

The SUV, according to Wester, will be unveiled at a future date. According to the company's five-year plan, the vehicle is anticipated to launch between 2016-2018.

Wester did not announce production or U.S. arrival dates for either of the vehicles, which will be based on rear-wheel-drive technology. He did say the launch cycle will likely be about every six months through 2018.

Earlier in the day, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne said globalizing Jeep and the relaunch of Alfa Romeo, which was out of the U.S. market for 20 years, is extremely important to the company's plans going forward.

"Jeep and Alfa is the single largest elements of the growth platform," he said during the Detroit auto show, adding the company overall is in "execution mode."

Alfa Romeo unveiled the 4C Spider on Monday during the Detroit auto show. Reid Bigland, head of Alfa Romeo North America, also used the unveiling to formally re-introduce the brand to the U.S. market by also unveiling the 4C coupe, which is on sale now.

"The Alfa Romeo 4C coupe and 4C Spider are a great way to reintroduce the Alfa Romeo brand back to the North American markets," Bigland said during the unveiling. "But this is just the beginning. Our commitment to the Alfa Romeo brand is unprecedented."

Alfa Romeo plans to sell 400,000 vehicles by 2018, including about 150,000 in North America.

The brand also plans to double its current North American dealers to about 200 by early 2016 The current dealers are primarily Fiat dealers that were awarded Alfa Romeo franchises, but a handful are Maserati dealers.

DETROIT -- Alfa Romeo’s second completely redesigned vehicle in its $6 billion brand overhaul will be a sedan that might carry the historic Giulia nameplate, top executives with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles hinted Monday.

Speaking to reporters in Detroit, CEO Sergio Marchionne let slip that the next Alfa -- set to be revealed June 24th in Italy on the brand’s 105th anniversary -- would be a sedan.

Later, Harald Wester, the global head of Alfa Romeo and the man leading the brand’s U.S. resurrection, said he would not contradict Marchionne.

Asked if the sedan would carry the historic Guilia name, Wester said that both the Giulia and Giulietta nameplates “are milestones in Alfa’s history which are worthwhile to be reconsidered.

But, he said, “I’m not confirming” the name.

For dealers, the next Alfa is more important to the brand’s U.S. comeback than is the 4C and 4C Spider revealed Monday at the Detroit Auto Show because it represents the brand’s first volume play.

Alfa Romeo wants to reach 400,000 annual sales from a redesigned lineup by 2018. The two-seat 4C and 4C Spider represent only about 3,000 sales per year globally.

About 150,000 of the 400,000 annual global sales goal for Alfa are expected to come from North American consumers, said Reid Bigland, Alfa’s brand head in North America.

In November, Alfa began selling new cars in the U.S. for the first time since 1995, and sold 91 Alfa Romeo 4Cs during November and December.

Future Alfa customers -- the brand refers to its many enthusiasts as ‘Alfisti’ -- are car enthusiasts who are more likely to be driving high-end German or Japanese sports cars now than they are likely to have owned an Alfa Romeo before the brand left the U.S., Wester said.

MILAN (Bloomberg) -- Alfa Romeo is finalizing the development of its first SUV as the revival of the sporty brand takes shape.

The compact SUV will likely be unveiled in 2016 following a midsize sedan that is slated to premiere this year, said people familiar with the matter.

The two models will both be based on rear-wheel-drive technology dubbed Giorgio, which has been developed by an engineering team led by former Ferrari managers, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private. Fiat Chrysler declined to comment on specific Alfa Romeo product plans.

The SUV will likely be produced alongside the sedan at the Cassino plant near Rome, the people said. By basing the two cars on similar technology, Fiat Chrysler aims to cost costs, as a new model costs about $1 billion to develop compared with investment of less than $300 million to adapt existing technology, Marchionne said last year.

The SUV, codenamed Project 949, will be similar in size to the Audi Q5 and BMW X3. It will be the first model to offer a new high output V-6 diesel that is part of the brand’s new high performance engine range.

Alfa Romeo plans to present the sedan, which has been referred to as Giulia, on June 24 to celebrate the brand’s 105-year anniversary. The presentation will be held at the Alfa Romeo museum outside Milan, where the carmaker was founded.

The two cars are critical to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV’s strategy to transform the niche Italian manufacturer into a luxury brand capable of challenging BMW and Audi.

CEO Sergio Marchionne plans to spend 5 billion euros ($5.9 billion) on Alfa Romeo’s overhaul to tap into the cachet that lingers from cars like Duetto Spider driven by Dustin Hoffman in the film “The Graduate.”

With a plan to roll out eight new models by 2018, including two SUVs, the brand is seeking to increase sales more than fivefold to 400,000 cars. The expansion will come mainly for China and North America.

As part of its return to the U.S. market, Alfa Romeo will present the open-top spider version of the $53,900 4C sports car at the Detroit auto show. U.S. dealers say demand is strong.

 

 

 

Missed target

“We’re delivering Alfas as fast as we can get them,” said Chuck Eddy, a Fiat Chrysler dealer near Youngstown, Ohio. “We’re excited. We’re looking to build a new facility, and we wouldn’t do that if we didn’t feel positive about the brand.”

Still, Alfa Romeo may only reach half its target. IHS Automotive forecasts 2018 deliveries of about 200,000 cars from less than 70,000 last year.

The goal’s “pretty ambitious,” said Michelle Krebs, a senior analyst at Autotrader.com. With U.S. sales growth plateauing, “the pie isn’t growing so they’ll have to take that share from somewhere. But where?”

Alfa Romeo’s revival is critical to Fiat Chrysler’s upscale strategy, which calls for vehicles to be made in the company’s under-used Italian factories for sale worldwide. The company’s problems in Italy contributed to 141 million euros in European losses in the first nine months of 2014.

“There’s room in the U.S. consumer’s mind for another luxury brand, if done well,” said Richard Hilgert, a Chicago-based analyst with Morningstar Inc.

Perplesso anch'io, non capisco in quale modo questo cambio radicale dovrebbe portare benefici in termini di vendite ad una vettura che ha una (bella) storia e una solida reputazione nel mondo delle auto sportive

Non è di cambio che si parla ma di affiancamento ! Si avrebbe sia la Corvette tradizionale che quella a motore posteriore centrale. Rinnovo le mie perplessità.......
