The news of the potential sale in Brampton comes as Stellantis confirmed it will take another year to retool the Belvidere Assembly plant to build the Jeep Cherokee and later, the Jeep Compass, in the United States.

Current generation Compass or any STLA Medium based car is just badly designed and engineered for US market.

Narrowness of this particular platform at the shoulder height, poor interior design with small and poor infotainment for modern standards. Lack of 4 cylinder engines. What could go wrong?
Exterior is nicely designed but technically it lacks in some departments.
In general for all Stellantis products, and this one included, they're not planning product to be attractive across the whole Europe. It always seems that they only look at the French market and French taxation system and that's it.

Sorry. Actually Pentastar has different numbers for cylinder. Some engine manufacturers just count cylinder numbers differently and that's what Chrysler did with the Pentastar. It can happen with Vee engines.

But already for electric supercharger you need 48V tech i.e. mild hybrid wether it's a BSG driven or P2.5 system.
EU7 is not related to a CO2 emissions.

Electrification to overcome a lag for a high boost versions or to at least slightly improve fuel economy is always more than welcome.

.500X? Wasn't 500X II planned as a proper fully fledged C segment SuV?

IMO it's foolish to launch new Tonale on STLA M. It should be on STLA One from a get go.
Tonale I? From what I one 3 different technical solutions were under consideration, 2 on Small Wide and Giorgio.

Audi... BMW on their C segment cars have an independent rear suspension. And that's it.
For those who are mentioning STLA One. It's a multi energy platform for a C segment cars and low born / elongated D segment cars. It's not for a proper D segment car platform and it's a FWD based.
STLA Large LP3 which was fortunately cancel was born as BEV only and thanks God it's cancelled.
Then we got back to root of problem in my opinion.
Next to a cost cutting ex PSA ehm STLA had a very bad product planning. Their delusions are ithwith small engines, BEV only or BEV first car launches has a long effect on a company. A very bad one.

I have my doubts that Brasil will see STLA M products. Doesn't make sense. My money is on STLA One.

If the new "Giulietta" is a hatchback then this one is also a hatchback.
The truth is. Both are crossovers.

Mu biggest concern is interior width. Every CMO and every smart car suffers from narrowness at the shoulder height. Renault did it much better with CMF-B based products.
And I see Dacia's proportions as better. It's a more planted car. JMO

Hmh... All STLA electric cars suffer from inefficiency. It's not just a a software, it's also due to inventers and electric motors which technologically lags behind competitors and unfortunately it's by much.
But STLA One for example AFAIK is already under development with mechanical AWD and Hurricane 4 which is something what's lacking on STLA M.

For sure US will not get STLA M based Compass but STLA One based is in the plans.
