Stellantis - architettura STLA One
I know that the next gen Jeep Compass for North America will be on STLA One. That's certainty. The same for the European Jeep Renegade. All other is pure speculation based on some indication. STLA most likely will not be upgraded. Why would it be? And that's the potential problem for any car on it especially for North American market including next generation Tonale. 2.0 turbo engine and mechanical AWD are still a must there especially for a premium product which Alfa still is. AFAIK "Giulietta" or Alfa C-SUV could be related to a future Peugeot C-SUV slotted below 3008. Peugeot Low C segment models will be a replacement for 308 and 308 SW. Such model isn't planned planned for Alfa Romeo. I would argue that such model is a perfect for for Fiat's lineup to directly replace Fiat Tipo and to be produced by Tofas.

I was talking about STLA M in general. Both STLA and Renault have one huge problem with the current generation of cars. Their B segment and low cost cars are selling well but there's a bloodbath with a C segment. And guess what? Both have a very bad choice of ICE engines. On the other hand VW with Tiguan and T-Roc holds #3 and #4 for European car sales. Yes, Germans in general prefer larger cars but IMO something is rotten with STLA strategy. Let's not forget that 3008 II had good sales numbers.

@cruzmaltino How about North American Jeep Compass? Will it switch to STLA One? Rumor says that the new Dodge GLH and Chrysler Airflow will be produced at Belvidere. Those two are based on STLA One. Will Jeep Compass joined the? Besides STLA M doesn't offer a mechanical AWD which is very important for US marker but also a unique selling point for Jeep brand in South America. We know that the Jeep Renegade should be based on STLA One in Europe and is slated to be one of the first four STLA One based cars in Europe. Will Brazil keep Small Wide for Jeep Renegade, Compass and Commander or will they switch to STLA One? Mix of STLA One and STLA M at the same factory doesn't sound viable to me.

Lancia Gamma 2026
It has 136 HP... And based on many reviews I've seen it struggles on higher speeds not just at the performance level but also with a fuel economy. There's a reason why direct competitors have 1.5 and 2.0 4 cylinder petrol engine and also a 2.0 diesel engine. Stellantis has a modern 1.5 petrol engine with 160 HP sitting unused. Stellantis has a 2.2 diesel. Stellantis has GME T4 M, GME T4 D and GME T4 Evo waiting to be used. CO2 penalty? Just offer what customers want and what it takes to stay relevant and competitive. Rules and laws are here to change.

Classic PSA. Differentiation is almost non existent. Some body panels and always doors but also interior bits must be shared across the board. But engine choice is ridiculous for this class size and especially for premium products. Are they even benchmarking against non French competitors?

Fiat -> FCA -> Stellantis - Filosofia su una holding multinazionale
Opel is 2nd best selling brand fo STLA in the EU. Right? But keep in mind that in early days after the merger Fiat was the #2 brand. It was better selling than Opel or Citroen. Fiat is the one which ba potential to become #1 selling brand for Stellantis in Europe and is alrewd #1 selling Stellantis brand globally. Opel was once upon a time direct competitor to VW and now it's a mere shadow of it. Peugeot/Stellentis it Tavares way of doing things and focus on mechanically poor and small cars even had a worse effect on Opel.

The problem with CMP and related cars is width. Namely width for shoulders. In my opinion CMF-B based cars are better, i.e. wider on the inside.

Fleets? Different rules and taxation systems across the EU. Some still prefer diesels. And lets not forget on open roads and motorways diesel is still and will be the best choice. One digression about the new generation Puretech, the small one 1.2 EB. AFAIK Miller cycle engines should be better at constant loads but the new 1.2 is no better that the old one. Fuel economy in real life scenarios for open roads and motorways hasn't improved on previous generation non hybrid engine.

@led zeppelin That's valid for Italy but not Europe wide. Anyway all I can see in the last 5 years is market share increase for VAG while at th same time STLA has fallen from almost 24% to mere 14% of marker share. Obviously something is deeply wrong with their strategy. Is it a pricing, products... I don't know although my personal opinion is that almost all is wrong. Platforms, engines, electrification strategy... Just to name a few but the list is substantial.

Medium is a design failure. SUV only platform without a proper 4x4 and terrible packaging for a given wheelbase length. New generation of 1.6 EP and 1.2 EB? They say they're Miller but compression ratio is (too) low. And 1.2 EB Gen III still has the same fuel economy issues as the previous generation. This is something which would be solved by a proper Miller.

Guys... Do you really want 1.6 PSA HEV with EVT? I'm not so sure that Europeans are on live with scooter like effect. Yes, Toyota offers if in Europe but it's Toyota. Two other big players at HEV market in Europe are Renault Group and Hyundai Group and none of them is offering EVT for HEV. Speaking about 1.2 TCe with LPG it has dual injection. The engine has both direct injection and multipoint injection. Problems with 2.2 Multijet and GSE? I'm unaware of anything terribly wrong. Multijet has the same problem as any other Multijet.

I wouldn't agree. 1.5, actually 1.46, from ex FCA is a very compact engine and a true Miller cycle unlike 1.2 and 1.6 from ex PSA although they're saying they're Miller but compression ratio just isn't there. And to some extent or covers domain of both 1.2 and 1.6 from PSA. And they also can make less powerful versions. Just look at the newest 1.5 TSI which starts at just 115 HP from an internal combustion engine. 2.0 GME of done properly and a true Miller cycle can take over from more powerful 1.6 versions.

Engine list inadequate but it's what it is. No diesel, no 4 cylinder petrol engine which aren't small 1.2 and which aren't PSA sourced. Sometimes it's good to look what Germans are doing.
