In Horse Powertrain, Aurobay’s owners Geely (Geely Holding and Geely Auto) and Renault Group have formed an independent company at an exciting time for the industry. Each year, its subgroups, Horse and Aurobay, produce c. 5 million next-generation powertrain solutions, including engines, transmissions and hybrid systems. Horse Powertrain is headquartered in London, UK, and has €15 billion in yearly revenues.
Aurobay brings to the new business around 10,000 employees, 9 manufacturing sites in China and Sweden, and 2 industry-leading R&D centers. Horse Powertrain’s complementary product portfolio and regional footprint have the potential to offer solutions for 80% of the growing hybrid and combustion powertrain market. Many OEMs are currently looking to team up with a large player with cutting-edge R&D and manufacturing capabilities in hybrid and combustion technologies.
As part of the Horse Powertrain team, we will help to develop and supply future powertrain technologies capable of addressing all market expectations, notably in the field of alternative fuels such as green methanol, ethanol and hydrogen.
Horse Powertrain will supply multiple industrial customers including Renault Group, Geely Auto, Volvo Cars, Proton, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors Company. The company is ready to engage with customers and partners around the world to support them with end-to-end solutions in powertrain technologies and will welcome partners to further strengthen the value chain.
Geely and Renault Group have agreed on a global governance scheme as well as strategic appointments for Horse Powertrain. Matias Giannini is appointed CEO, Lee Ma Chief Financial Officer and Juan Ferrera Chief Human Resources Officer.
