T-Roc competitor should came under 500 badge. Kamiq competitor under Fiat. Because of 500 subbrand Lancia is surplus.VAG models are on B, C and D segment platforms. Namely MQB A0, MQB A1 and MQB A2. Yes, Tiguan and Q3 share platform with Passat or Superb and not with Golf. T-Roc is a model which is certainly more trendy than rational. Speaking about FCA SUVs, CUVs. IMO they can cover it with Small Wide platform. There are two versions. One is 4x4 capable and has IRS while the other one is not. Look at Fiat 500L dimensions an habitability. Can they offer rational crossovers with similar dimensions? IMO they can. Of course it shouldn't be as tall as 500L. X2 is nothing more than a warmed up hatchback just as the first generation Merc GLA. Tonale will be taller and will have exterior dimensions more in line with X1. In the last decades Lancia was always more appreciated by German car fans. Italian car fans were always after Alfa. I'm talking about situation outside of Italy. But German car fan will always buy German car. Lancia may be more popular than Alfa but only in Italy and maybe France. We are talking about brand which was basically killed in late '60's and which was completely merged into Fiat except for the badge.Weight! Handling is related to weight. Just for example. Compass weighs some 200 kilos less than Q3. I'm talking about measured mass and surely not about listed one. If they can keep such a low mass for Tonale and even improve rigidity and bring down unsprung mass they will have the winner. And od course if they are after low CO2, lower than 50 g/km, they will need a big battery.
