  1. It is not coachbuilding, it is a separate model. Coachbuilding should propose special bodies using standard chassis. Look at Nuvola as an example or Sportiva Evoluta. For coachbuilding should be created special chassis intended only for this purpose.
  2. As I remember he promised AR customization from famous carrozzerie, something like a special coachbuilder program. Or the story with Tonale, when he complained about handling and postponed the production for 1 year of the ready model.
  3. Sometimes I wonder if I would want to work with individuals like Imparato, Tavares, or even Trump. Would I want them as colleagues, managers, or would I consider hiring them? To be honest, they would not pass an interview if I were the hiring manager. I would raise concerns with HR about their behavior, particularly their tendency to lie consistently. These are individuals I find it difficult to trust, even based solely on their appearance.
  4. Tavares basically destroyed italian automotive engineering. Or am I wrong? I don not want to buy any new italian car model anymore, because all of them are french And italian car manufacturing is in the collapse mode now.
  5. Eventually this idiot is out of the game. I hope that clown lmparato will leave as well as a rat from the sinking ship
  6. I would be interested to see a design of Pontiac or Oldsmobile coupe based on the 164.
  7. It has so many unnecessary lines! It's heavy with the details that this car does not need. Instead of lightness it exposes heaviness. It looks like a 57 years old pornostar.
  8. It looks to me that VW sold the right to use Audi name to the Chinese manufacturer. Something similar to the retail market, when Benetton, Nautica, Reebok, Ralph Lauren, Polo, Eddie Bauer, etc. give the right to use their brand to some chinese manufacturers and sell the product in retail stores as Walmart or Costco.
  9. @PaoloGTC if i'm not mistaken, it is a 118 (future Alfa 6)
  10. This is the second example (actually it is the first, that was presented in Monza) However the first car (which was actually built the second) has a provision for the 4WD.
  11. CRF still used the X1/23 in 1979 and 1980!
  12. Probably it was made in this way because it's cute, it makes you smile and curious and you feel that the car is friendly. All the components that any modern vehicle is missing. They explored a new niche, that was non existent back then. The car was made intentionally as a city commuter. They tried to make a cheap electric car for everyday. The concept that can be easily achieved with the modern technology, but nobody want's it
  13. Just for comparison, 155, which is generally considered a flop, during the first month on the market (February 1992) collected 6000 orders in Italy only. Production was running at 400 cars/day. During the second month (March) 155 collected 7000 orders on the domestic market. In April Alfa delivered 10000 cars but already had a backlog of 11000 cars! At the end of May 1992 Alfa 155 got 15000 registers in Italy Does Junior produced with a pace of 400-450 cars per day? If not, I would question the number of orders P.S. Alfa 33 at that time was produced at the pace 420 cars per day
  14. I just can't understand how a person without previous automotive experience could decide anything regarding the model range.
  15. Talking about 33 3 volume we should understand how it supposed to be positioned and when. By the last independent 10 years model plan (June 1985) AR marketing team thought about 33 3v as Giulietta replacement. They wanted to add a model between 33 and 75. 33 3v was planned for the first quarter of 1988 however in the beginning of 1992 33 3v and 75 supposed to be replaced by the new 434 model
  16. Yes, but before Alfa thought about this car, Alfasud Tempo Libero with Oto Melara transmission. Now the car is in the Lopresto collection
  17. The project started in 1980 during the preparation of the 10 years Master Plan. Alfa Romeo reviewed Giugiaro's market review from the 70's where he pointed that people are no longer interested in sports cars but in the cars that allow to explore. Basically future SUV's. Alfa Romeo reviewed Talbot Rancho, Citroen Mehari, Land Rover 90/110, Range Rover, VW Iltis, Mercedes-Steyer G 240-280. This is what AR presented to IRI, in 1980. It was planned for production in 1986
  18. The progress in turbocharging allowed to have 2-3 engines across the model range. Basically 3, 4 and 6 cylinders with the displacement from 1 to 3.5 liters can cover all model line. 3 engines allow to have a range from 85 to 700 hp. With naturally aspirated engines it would require 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 and probably 16/18 cylinders engines with displacement from 1 to 8.2-9 liters Alfa did the same experiment with 33.3 V8. but Triflux was much more efficient.

  20. My GTI was made in Mexico and Alfa Spider was made in Grugliasco. Dodge Dart was made in the USA from Italian parts, and Alfa 155 was made in Italy My father's Mazda's were made in Japan, my sister's and brother in law cars were made in Germany and USA. But yes, my laptop was made in China, back in 2014, when I did not care about the origins of the products. To be honest Chinese high tech products are almost disappeared from Canadian and USA markets. During the first Trump cadence many companies supported the closing of the factories in China, and Biden continued the trend. I think Iphone's are sold here are made in India. The purchase is always the choice of the customer. Chinese products do not have any pricing advantages over the products made in India, Indonesia, Taiwan, etc. And in Costco (large retail chain) there is always a selection of everyday products made in North America, from jeans to pullovers. And local clothing almost always made from natural materials (cotton or merino wool), but chinese products are made literally (it written on the packaging) from plastic garbage collected from oceans. I prefer a light merino t-shirt (12 Euro) over products made from garbage sourced from ocean (7 Euro)
  21. I personally always check where the product was made, and try to avoid anything made in China. Half of my clothing was made locally in Canada. Just don't buy their products, always check where it was made.

  23. The final design of 923 AF or 156 Powerwagon was ready in January of 1998. So probably the proposal was done few months before, exactly as Paolo mentioned The I.De.A proposal was created by Antonio Sassi (at least he presented it at his personal web site) https://www.antoniosassidesign.it/portfolio/progetto-alfa-romeo-156-sport-wagon/
