  1. From media: Dodge Barracuda convertible, next-gen Charger among surprises for FCA dealers in Las Vegas Up to 30 new or refreshed products coming within 2 years, they're told The next-generation Dodge Charger, which resembles the 1999 concept (pictured here), will be based on the flexible rear-wheel-drive platform designed for the return of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, company executives told dealers. http://www.autonews.com/article/20150826/OEM04/150829921/dodge-barracuda-convertible-next-gen-charger-among-surprises-for-fca
  2. Hahahaha. They are very offensive on Allpar. I mean some users back there. And all that is tolerated by moderators. They have very nazi-like stance. And after all of their bashing it seems that new models for them are coming. If I need to guess platforms. modified CUSW - Chrysler minivan and CUV new RWD platform - 'Cuda, Charger, Grand Wagoneer
  3. @ RVC You men this: Ok so lots of news from the dealer show, some unexpected stuff, stuff we kinda knew was coming and confirmation of other things discussed here. They were told everything shown is 12-24 months out from being on the lots. Jeep 1. Grand Wagoneer is official as expected and will be going after Land Rover. 2. Wrangler was shown at the end of the show, SM specifically mentioned that it will get at least 30 mpg(diesel, but wasn't specifically mentioned) was announced as a 2017. 3.Grand Cherokee Trackhawk- 700 hp, AWD Hellcat powered, 0-60 in under 3 seconds(2.7). 4. New Subcompact Jeep was shown. 5. New Compass is based off the Renegade platform and looks like a mix of the current version and the Grand Cherokee. Chrysler 1. New SUV/CUV that's bigger than the Durango(possibly shared with the Grand Wagoneer) 2. T&C- plug in hybrid confirmed, much simpler stow and go. As expected the Grand Caravan is done in the US. It will continue on in Canada and the rest of the world. Ram 1. New Power Wagon, apparently much more focused than the current model 2. They showed the 2018 Ram and I was told it's going to be a game changer. I'm trying to get more details. Dodge 1. Durango SRT is official. 6.4 RWD 2. They showed the next gen Charger, much more streamlined and takes cues from the 99 Charger R/T concept 3. They showed a street legal Challenger Drag car with some version of the Hellcat making more than 707. 4. Showed the Dart refresh, no SRT version. AWD will be an option. 300 HP engine will be optional across ALL trim levels. Basically you will be able to get the performance with whatever level of equipment you want instead of having to pay for a R/T or SRT. 5. Brand new Cuda coupe and convertible, smaller than the Challenger with modern styling. My eyes didn't stay for the Fiat part since they don't sell them. He did say that the Giulia was there and looks awesome. ?
  4. I'm shocked because I expected it will have a longest wheelbase in class. And not only that I expected that but in press material they stated it has longest wheelbase in category. World preview of the Alfa Romeo Giulia - Press Releases - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles EMEA Press All this translates into a very generous wheelbase - the longest in its category - but contained in one of the most compact bodies.
  5. Fortunately much larger than Vitara. It would be weird if they are following Cherokee design language. On the other hand, mini Grand Cherokee design language is safe bet even here in Europe. I'm still wondering about dimensions but here on last pictures it seems huge, but maybe it's somewhat lower than last Jeep models. It was planned to start sell in Q2 next year. I don't know if they changed plans. Didn't some guy said that Wagoneer will be showed to Jeep dealers?
  6. They plan to produce 100k sedans per year and in Turkey they sold slightly above 30k Lineas per year. So obviously they are going to sale other 70k somewhere. That somewhere are eastern EU markets and some western markets where sedans are popular like Germany or Spain. If I remember correctly past interviews they said that they will sell sedan in Germany and Spain but surely not in France or maybe Italy.
  7. FIRE is near of end of life. They started Small Gasoline Engine (SGE) at least back in 2011. IMO, we can expect SGE very soon.
  8. Did you read press release? It states Giulia has the longest wheelbase in its class without stating how much it is. So if we know that C-class had a longest wheelbase with 284 cm we know that Giulia has longer wheelbase than that. RCV is correct when saying that Giulia's wheelbase is 287-288 cm territory.
  9. Salon Francfort 2015 : Alfa Romeo Giulia Avec ses 4,73 mètres de long posés sur la nouvelle plate-forme Giorgio... So they said Giulia is 4.73 meters long?
  10. http://www.ukintpress-conferences.com/uploads/SPEXNA11/Day1_7_David_Schmidt.pdf In that document it's said that 1.4 liter FIRE has 77 mm bore spacing.
  11. So boring, so old design. Nothing new with VAG products.
  12. I thought that they changed postion of intake and exhaust when they updated GEMA to Tigershark? Maybe it's a good block but it's huge with 96 mm bore spacing. If I'm correct Pratola has 90 mm bore spacing while FIRE is extremelly compact with 77 mm. I'm also not sold on idea for big 2.4 I4. I would much rather see 2.5 I5.
  13. I think they did a remarkable job with this engine regarding fuel consumption in such a big and heavy vehicle. Fuel consumption is on par with renewed VW Tiguan with 184 HP 2.0 TDI and 7 speed DSG and that VW is weighing about 300 kg less. I expect that 2.0 Multijet will be updated to 2000 bar CR system and be bored out to 93.8 mm.
  14. It's not impossible. It's a matter of will from FIAT's side. Maybe I wasn't clear. I want see this car with 2.2 JTD under Abarth badge to take on Škoda Octavia diesel vRS.
  15. What's downsizing? For me it's anything which results in less vehicle weight and with less fuel consumption. They way to achieve that is irrelevant.
  16. I would like to see a new 2.2 JTD in this one paired with ZF 9HP.
  17. Regarding new engine. Didn't someone told it's (Pratola) unsuitable for longitudinal application? If it is than they can make 1.6 and 2.0 JTD for longitudinal application. Didn't BMW with B47 switched to solenoid injectors for all single turbo versions?
  18. I don't know why they have so weak press office. If this is VAG news it will be screaming in all newpapers and web portals.
  19. Didn't call it 4-link suspension? It' essential for Audi to eliminate torque steering.
  20. I expect aluminium for Giulia at least for doors, fronte and back of the car. That will significantly reduce weight of the vehicle while retaining of good NVH properties thanks to steel body. Full Aluminium body like in new Jaguar is mostly nthing more than a good marketing because you loose weight gains with more usage of isolation if you want to achieve good NVH. CFRP roof will be just icing on the cake for new Giulia and will be excellent fit in goal to have more centered and more down mass distribution.
