Cmq negli usa il disel costa di più della benzina, non ci sono i vantaggi fiscali che abbiamo qui in europa. BMW steigert Absatz im März deutlich FRANKFURT (Dow Jones)--Der weltgrößte Luxusautohersteller BMW hat seinen Absatz im März genau wie die schärfsten Wettbewerber Audi und Mercedes-Benz erneut deutlich gesteigert. Weltweit seien 141.701 Fahrzeuge verkauft worden, teilte der Münchener Dax-Konzern am Montag mit. Das entspricht einem Plus von 12,1%. Die Kernmarke BMW legte dabei um 12,7% auf 117.696 verkaufte Wagen zu, der Stadtflitzer Mini wurde 23.880 Mal verkauft (+9,1%). Im Auftaktquartal 2010 brachten die Bayern damit 315.614 Autos der Marken BMW, Mini und Rolls-Royce an die Kundschaft in aller Welt (+13,8%). Die Kernmarke verkaufte sich 265.809 Mal (+13,8%), der Mini 49.526 Mal (+13,6%). Neben der krisenbedingt schwachen Entwicklung im Vorjahr war für den deutlichen Zuwachs vor allem der boomende chinesische Fahrzeugmarkt verantwortlich. Im Reich der Mitte verkaufte BMW in den ersten drei Monaten des Jahres fast 35.000 Wagen. Das sind mehr als doppelt so viele wie noch im Vorjahr. Daimler, Renault set to share car platforms, engines Greg Kable AutoWeek -- March 31, 2010 16:57 CET Print Email Reprints STUTTGART -- Following a year of intensive high-level talks and secretive strategy meetings, Daimler AG and Renault SA have agreed on plans that will see their car-making divisions -- Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Renault and Nissan -- share resources on a wide range of products. The move signals more consolidation within the European automotive industry. Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche and Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn have set out three primary areas of cooperation that will see the carmakers share small-car and light-commercial-vehicle platforms, small gasoline and diesel engines, and electric drive systems. The carmakers will also have joint component, logistical and production programs, all aimed at netting what one Daimler source has described to AutoWeek as billions of euros in annual savings. Daimler and Renault also will enter into an equity swap, likely to be about 3 percent for each company. The common shareholding is aimed at binding each carmaker to an agreement that will allow further expansion of cooperation between the two beyond the initial projects. Insiders have confirmed to AutoWeek that Zetsche and Ghosn are set to announce the tie-up ahead of Daimler's annual shareholder meeting in Berlin, Germany, on April 14. Up to 120 senior managers from Daimler and Renault have been involved in the talks. BMW talks broke down Discussions on a similar collaboration between Zetsche and BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer broke down in early 2009 because of crucial differences in engineering philosophy on small cars and engines, according to AutoWeek sources. The sources say BMW will now seek closer working ties with French carmaker PSA/Peugeot-Citroen. “We have talked to just about everyone in recent years, but over time it became apparent that Renault provided the best fit both in terms of operations and business culture,” said a Daimler source familiar with the talks. “The various agreements . . . will provide each company with dramatic improvements in production volumes and overall scale for small cars and light commercial vehicles--something that is vitally important in today's car-making business.” Project Edison provides new Smart cars A key program for the Daimler-Renault venture is Project Edison -- a new small-car initiative centered on the platform for the third-generation Smart ForTwo. A longer version of the platform will be used for a successor to the Smart ForFour, which was cancelled in 2006 because of slow sales. Sources tell AutoWeek that the new ForFour will use a rear-engine/rear-drive layout. That's a change from the conventional front-engine, front-wheel-drive architecture used in the first-generation model developed with Mitsubishi. The steel-based unibody structure of Project Edison, now undergoing development at Mercedes-Benz's engineering headquarters in Sindelfingen, Germany, uses the same space-saving rear-engine layout and exposed Tridion safety cell as today's second-generation ForTwo -- features considered unique selling points for the struggling Smart brand. But the platform has been extensively reengineered for greater crash protection, improved packaging and weight savings. In addition to the Renault deal, Mercedes-Benz is studying building a new high-tech small car to rival the BMW Mega City Vehicle. The effort is named Project 50. Insiders describe the car as having the dimensions of the original Mercedes-Benz A-class, with extensive use of carbon fiber and an electric drivetrain. It could use the rear-engine/rear-wheel-drive platform from the Project Edison Smart ForFour. Edison spawns new Renaults, maybe Nissans Renault will use the Project Edison platform for a new two-seat city car modeled on the Twizzy concept car shown at the 2009 Frankfurt auto show, as well as the third-generation Twingo. The new Twingo is set to be built alongside a new Smart ForFour at Renault's plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Although not yet part of the cooperation agreement, Renault is investigating the possibility of building a Nissan derivative of the two-seat city car, and perhaps a Renault version of the four-door Project Edison car at Samsung's plant in Busan, South Korea. Together, Daimler and Renault expect combined production of more than 350,000 units a year of Project Edison vehicles--nearly triple the average 120,000 units a year Daimler has achieved with the first two generations of the Smart car. “The future ForTwo was never going to be hugely profitable at the sales levels it has established in recent years,” a high-ranking Mercedes-Benz insider told AutoWeek. “Even with the addition of a mechanically similar ForFour off a lengthened version of the same platform, the long-term returns for Smart would have been marginal at best. The additional production volumes and increased economies of scale brought on by the cooperation with Renault will ensure solid profitability throughout the life cycles of each model at the sales levels projected.” In addition to gasoline and diesel engines, the Project Edison program calls for an electric drive system to be shared between Daimler and Renault. It will draw on the electric driveline technology found in the soon-to-be-launched Smart ED, combined with Chinese-sourced lithium-ion batteries from BYD, with which Daimler recently signed a cooperation agreement. New four-cylinder gasoline, diesel engines The second part of the alliance will see Daimler and Renault jointly develop a new range of turbocharged four-cylinder direct-injection gasoline and common-rail diesel engines for use in Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Renault and Nissan models. Set to range in capacity from 1.2 liters to 1.8 liters, the all-aluminum units aim to provide Daimler and Renault with a dramatic improvement in production efficiency. Sources close to the deal say annual production volumes of up to 4 million units are achievable in the longer term. The new engines, engineered by Daimler and produced by Renault, are aimed at a range of models, including Mercedes-Benz's upcoming second-generation B-class, set to debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show, and the third-generation Mercedes A-class, scheduled to appear in 2012, as well as future versions of the Renault Clio and Megane. The new engines are in development at Daimler's R&D center in Sindelfingen, Germany, with input from a group of 30 Renault engineers. But it will be at least three years before they are ready, according to AutoWeek sources. Until then, Mercedes-Benz will rely on the existing M271 EVO gasoline engine used in the C-class. Originally conceived as a 2.0-liter unit, the engine will be reduced in capacity to 1.6 liters and 1.8 liters for the future A- and B-class models. The new small Mercedes cars will no longer use the underfloor engine-mounting arrangement of the current models and thus require a new family of engines. The smaller-capacity engines go under the internal code name M274. Earlier proposals by Ghosn for Renault to supply its current range of four-cylinder engines for use in the A- and B-class were blocked by Zetsche, who is keen for both companies to develop contemporary units that satisfy all future emission standards without expensive reengineering to current engines. Daimler and Renault have also agreed on the development of new three-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines for Project Edison. Details remains scarce, though it is expected the three-cylinder units will use the same cylinder bore spacing as the new four-cylinder engines. Along with future Smart and Renault models, the three-cylinder unit is planned to be used as a range extender in future Mercedes-Benz models previewed by its series of BlueZero concepts. Shared commercial vans The third major area of sharing between Daimler and Renault covers light commercial vehicles. According to those close to the talks, Daimler has agreed to use the next-generation Renault Kangoo as the basis for a new entry-level commercial vehicle to replace the Mercedes-Benz Viano. Sources tell AutoWeek that the Kangoo's floorpan will be reengineered to accommodate a new side structure that shifts the A-pillar farther forward and provides the new Mercedes-Benz a distinctive one-box profile. It results in improved packaging as well as visual differentiation from the Renault product. Engines for the new Mercedes commercial vehicle, which is expected to compete with the Volkswagen Caddy, are likely to be sourced from Renault, although Zetsche and Ghosn have also raised the possibility of developing a less-expensive and less-advanced range of engines specifically for commercial vehicles. Plug-in electric versions of the van, using the same battery technology from China's BYD as Project Edison, are planned. A future small Infiniti? Although not part of the initial deal, Daimler sources say Ghosn is also looking at using Mercedes-Benz's new front- and four-wheel-drive MFA platform from the new A- and B-class for a proposed entry-level Infiniti model. Also under discussion is an expansion of the agreement so Daimler could supply Renault with V6 and V8 gasoline and diesel engines, and a new automatic transmission to replace today's seven-speed 7G-Tronic unit for use in future Infiniti models. Further talks center on sharing an all-electric version of Mercedes-Benz's Vito commercial van which is set to be unveiled at this year's Hanover commercial-vehicle show. Insiders say it could be rebadged as a Nissan for sale in select Asian markets La stampa francese è riuscita a mettere le mani su gran parte dei dettagli dell’ alleanza tra Renault/Nissan e Daimler. Mi fa morire dal ridere il fatto che quando Daimler controllava Chrysler , Mitsubishi e Hyundai-Kia non era mai arrivata a questo grado di condivisione, invece adesso vuole andare ben oltre. E’ sicura anche una piccola partecipazione incrociata con Daimler che dovrebbe arrivare al 3% di Nissan e il 3% di Renault e viceversa. Diversi progetti sono stati decisi: 1) Progetto Edison: Daimler e Renault svilupperanno insieme una nuova piattaforma a trazione e motore posteriori, da essa deriveranno la futura for2, una nuova forfour ( ben diversa da quella del 2004 dato che avrà motore posteriore), una Renault a 2 posti e la futura twingo. La twingo e la forfour saranno prodotte in Slovenia nella fabbrica Renault mentre la for2 e la Renault izzy ( nome provvisorio) saranno prodotte nello stabilimento francese di hambach della Smart. Anche Nissan potrebbe utilizzare questa piattaforma. In più Zetsche sta spingendo per sviluppare una nuova piccolissima Mercedes sui 3,50 metri che riporti in vita la prima kl. A. 2) Progettazione e produzione di motori 4 cilindri diesel e benzina più motori a benzina e diesel a 3 cilindri. Questo progetto segue lo schema Peugeot-Bmw. Daimler progetterà i nuovi motori mentre Reanult li produrrà. Si andrà da 1.2 a 2.0 litri e verranno utilizzati nelle future piccole Mercedes e da Clio , Megane etc. I 3 cilindri verranno utilizzata su gamma smart e Twingo. Renault fornirà a Mercedes i suoi cambi a doppia frizione. 3) Veicoli elettrici: entrambe i costruttori sono a buon punto e metteranno insieme know how e ricerche per giungere più rapidamente alla produzione in massa di veicoli elettrici 4) Mercedes utilizzerà il pianale della Kangoo per poter offrire un piccolo veicolo commerciale contro Volkswagen Caddy e Fiat doblò 5) Ci sono altri progetti ancora in discussione ma che ancora non sono stati decisi. Infiniti potrebbe utilizzare il pianale MFA ( Mercedes piccole) per una vettura di segmento C per america ed europa. Mercedes potrebbe inoltre offrire ad Infiniti V8 e V6 più il suo nuovo cambio automatico a 8 rapporti. Il campo di collaborazione è sterminato e legherà i due gruppi per molti anni. Non è una vera e propria fusione ma poco ci manca. Potrebbe essere l’ inizio dell’ inglobamento di Daimler nell’alleanza Reanult-Nissan. Per quanto Daimler possa sembrare decisamente più forte dei concorrenti francesi non ha un’ azionista forte ed è troppo debole nei segmenti A-B-C. Daimler ha molto più bisogno di Renault/nissan che non il contrario.
  7. Non la stanno accellerando perchè Mercedes ha già dichiarato che la nuova kl. C entrerà in produzione nel 2014 quindi dopo i canonici 7 anni. A parte i gusti personale, da più parti gli ultimi design Mercedes sono stati criticati.
  8. Mercedes-Benz will make public long-held plans for a new entry-level four-door coupé at next month’s Geneva motor show, with the unveiling of the F800 Style. The new four-door concept previews the styling, dimensions and packaging of a replacement for the CLC, which should reach UK showrooms by the end of 2013. Described to Autocar as a baby brother to the larger and more opulent CLS, the new car will form part of Mercedes-Benz’s next-generation A and B-class family. See the official Mercedes F800 Style pictures It will share its front-wheel drive mechanical architecture with those cars, although this concept is also designed to show off a new modular rear-wheel drive platform. There will also be a four-wheel-drive, 300bhp turbocharged AMG range-topper. The F800’s exterior dimensions are said to be very close to the production car’s. At 4738mm long, 1938mm wide and 1445mm high, the car will also be similar in size to the forthcoming C-class coupé, a two-door version of today’s C-class due this time next year. Unlike that car, which will look more like a two-door saloon, the production F800 will have a more radical profile overlaid with futuristic styling referenced first by the Mercedes-Benz Bionic and, more recently, by the BlueZero line of concept cars. This new look has been overseen by Mercedes’ recently appointed design boss, Gorden Wagener, who has taken little time in stamping his mark on the look of the firm’s future models, first with the Concept Fascination shown at 2008’s Paris motor show and now with the F800 Style. Apart from removing the concept car flourishes such as the complex sliding rear doors, 20in wheels (with narrow 215/45 low-resistance tyres) and futuristic interior architecture, the production car will look much like the F800. “There will be some alterations to satisfy crash regulations and the like, but the character will remain much the same,” a Mercedes source revealed. “You will instantly recognise it again, even though we’ll have to wait a few years until it finds its way into showrooms.” The car’s appearance also previews the second-gen CLS that’s due to be unveiled at this September’s Paris show — including its SLS-inspired ‘soft’ front grille, extreme bodywork creases, coupé-like roofline, high-set bootlid and wide, angular tail-lights. The production coupé will use Mercedes’ new MFA platform. Developed to replace the firm’s expensive sandwich-floor architecture, it will also be used in the A and B-classes and a new small SUV. It can support differing wheelbase and track widths. The F800 Style has a lengthy wheelbase of 2924mm that provides it with ultra-short front and rear overhangs and a roomy interior, with up to 440 litres of luggage space. But the car is not just about previewing a new coupé. It has also been created to showcase developments in Mercedes’ hybrids and fuel cells, as well as a new modular rear-drive platform that will feature in the new C-class, due in 2015. The first of these powertrain concepts features a new turbocharged, 3.5-litre, direct-injection V6 petrol engine producing 300bhp. It is supported by a 109bhp electric motor mounted inside the seven-speed automatic gearbox. It’s powered by a lithium ion battery sited low down beneath the rear seat for optimum weight distribution and a low centre of gravity. Like the hybrid system developed by Volkswagen for the new Touareg, the F800 uses an automatic decoupling clutch. When the driver lifts off the throttle, a clutch positioned between the engine and the electric motor opens to disconnect them. This set-up is designed to use the car’s momentum to achieve optimum battery recharging through the electric motor, which acts as an alternator to collect kinetic energy. Mercedes-Benz’s figures claim a 0-62mph time of 4.8sec and a 155mph top speed for the F800 hybrid, with combined fuel consumption of 97mpg and CO2 emissions of 68g/km. It can also travel on electric power alone for almost 19 miles, during which top speed is limited to 75mph. The F800 Style has also been designed to accommodate a new fuel cell as part of the second stage of a customer lease programme. The first phase was kicked off recently by the B-class Fuel Cell, which will soon be available to selected customers. Packaged completely within the new car’s front end structure, the fuel cell feeds a slightly more powerful electric motor than its petrol engine-assisted hybrid sibling, producing 136bhp. The 0-62mph time is put at 11.0sec, while top speed is limited to 112mph. With claimed consumption of just 0.9kg of hydrogen per 100km (the equivalent of three litres of diesel per 100km), overall range is put at 373 miles. Greg Kable Qualche informazione da autocar
  9. Mercedes F 800 Style auf dem Genfer Autosalon 2010 - Der Mercedes von morgen - autobild.de Da autobild Lunghezza 4,75 metri, altezza 1,42 larghezza 1,94 metri e passo 2,92. Le concepì Mercedes della serie F generalmente in casa Mercedes non prefigurano nessun modello specifico ( in quel caso si chiamano Vision) ma sono dei show case per le nuove tecnologie. Difatti questa f800 ha il diesotto,il distronic plus e tecnologia elettrica. Secondo autobild alcuni elementi di stile saranno presenti nella prossima kl. C.
  10. L’ alleanza con Renault riguarderebbe solo la Smart secondo auto motor und sport. Le 2 case svilupperebbero un pianale a trazione posteriore per 4 veicoli : la futura smart for2 e una versione Renault che saranno prodotte ad Hambach a partire dal 2015 e una nuova smart fofour a posti e 4 porte, trazione posteriore con una versione Renault da produrre a Novo Mesto in Slovenia a partire dal 2013.   11. Mercedes, per sostituire kl. A e B, ha deciso di abbandonare l’ attuale pianale a sandwich perché costa troppo e non è abbastanza flessibile, ad esempio non può montare la trazione integrale e richiede motori specifici. Dopo l’ abbandono di Chrysler, Daimler ha iniziato trattative soprattutto con Fiat e Bmw per condividire un pianale ma questi tentativi sono stati infruttuosi. Nel 2008 Mercedes ha annunciato che aprirà una nuova fabbrica in Ungheria che insieme alla fabbrica di Rastatt produrrà a partire dal 2011 4 differenti varianti: Minivan, compatta a 5 porte, berlina a 4porte tipo cls e suv ( chiamato blk). Il pianale permetterà la condivisione di componenti con la kl. C soprattutto motori. Entro maggio Daimler dovrebbe annunciare un’ alleanza con Renault per produrre insieme la nuova For2 e una smart a 4 posti-4porte e trazione posteriore. Renault avrebbe una sua variante di entrambi i modelli.

Dovrebbe essere la cla: una berlina a 4 porte che farà parte delle 4 varianti delle future kl. A e B. Sulla fiancata si vedono 2 “tagli” già presenti sulle concepì Bluezero e sulle ricostruzioni della prossima kl. A da parte di autobild.

Insomma, Renault-Nissan è un gruppo mondiale con quinta posizione in Brasile, è il primo azionista di Volvo trucks che è il secondo gruppo di veicoli commerciali al mondo ed è fortissima in Cina. In Cina Nissan piazza quasi 600.000 auto l’ anno quindi non direi male. In più è vero che le finanze di Fiat sono messe meglio di quelle di Psa e Renault ( quasi metà della perdita annuale della Regie è dovuta alle partecipazioni in nissan, Autovaz e Volvo Trucks) ma ciò è dovuto al fatto che questi due gruppi non hanno niente di paragonabile a Cnh e ad iveco e non hanno tagliato in modo così draconiano il lancio dei prodotti. Basta un semplice raffronto Debutti sul mercato europeo tra il 2008 e il 2009 Renault: Clio restyling, megane 3, 5 porte, scenic, sw, koleos, Laguna coupè. Fiat: Qubo, 500c, Punto evo Inoltre è pure importante sottolineare che Marchionne millanta sul fatto che Fiat-Chrysler sia il quinto gruppo mondiale: fiat ha venduto 2.2 milioni di auto nel 2009 e Chrysler 1.1: arrivano a 3.3 indietro anche a Psa.Il gruppo è assente ( o qualora scarsamente presente) dai principali mercati asiatici dove avverrà gran parte della futura crescita.

La legge del 1960 prevedeva che nessun azionista potesse esercitare più del 20% del diritto di voto qualsiasi quota azionaria avesse.ssonia era azionista unico. Dopo un fallito tentativo nel 2001, la commissione europea riuscì a imporre che la Germania abolisse la legge. Il governo Merkel, sostenuto da vari politici socialdemocratici, democristiani, da Piech e dai sindacati, la modificò solamente lasciando intatto il blocco di minoranza al 20% invece che al 25% come avviene per tutte le altre società tedesche. In tal modo e grazie anche al fatto che nel consiglio di supervisione di Volkswagen gran parte delle decisioni devono avere una maggioranza qualificata di 2/3 ( così i sindacati hanno potere di veto su tutto) la scalata di Porche è fallita miseramente. Porche, pur avendo il 74% di Vw tramite azioni e opzioni, non ha potuto esercitare un vero controllo sulla società e non ha avuto accesso all’ alta liquidità di Vw che le sarebbe servita per pagare la scalata. Ecco spiegato perché Vw tratta i sindacalisti e gli operai quasi meglio dei manager, senza di loro niente può essere approvato.
  16. Vw attualmente è il gruppo automotive con la maggiore liquidità pari a 13,5 miliardi di euro a fine terzo trimestre. In più nella prima metà del 2010 dovrebbero arrivare circa 4 miliardi di euro dall' emissioni di nuove azioni. Effetivamente Vw ha messo il turbo alle acquisizioni, oltre a Porsche e Suzuki a breve annuncerà la fusione tra Man e scania che dovrebbe portare via ancora della liquidità.

Chrysler Slows Cash Losses After Restructuring, Marchionne Says July 1 (Bloomberg) -- Chrysler Group LLC has stemmed the pace at which it uses cash after emerging from bankruptcy June 10 as a slimmer company, Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne said. Chrysler, which reorganized around what it considered its best assets and $6 billion in fresh financing from the U.S. and Canadian governments, went through $9.6 billion in cash in 2008. “We are still burning cash, but it’s slowed down by far,” Marchionne said in an interview in New York yesterday. “The question is how quickly we can stop the bleeding. That is priority No. 1.” He declined to say how quickly the company is using cash. Marchionne, also the CEO of Italian carmaker Fiat SpA, is seeking to fix Chrysler after two previous owners failed. He’s cutting inventory and adding new platforms and engine technology to redefine the product portfolio. Fiat acquired 20 percent of the new Chrysler formed from the bankruptcy. Combined, they form the world’s sixth-largest carmaker with annual sales of 4.5 million vehicles. Marchionne, who is pushing consolidation in the car industry because he expects only six global players to thrive in the long run, said he wants to disclose Chrysler’s financial information even though the automaker, based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, near Detroit, isn’t listed on any stock market. “It would be very useful for the public, and the people who have funded us, including the taxpayers, to know how we’re doing,” he said. Marchionne said he is working with the U.S. Treasury to decide what information Chrysler might report and when. Muscle Cars By the end of the month, Marchionne wants to decide how the new company will manage its Dodge and Alfa Romeo brands, which he sees as American and European counterparts. “The level of competition between these two brands is tremendous because they are both going after the same customer,” Marchionne said. “Dodge is the American muscle car, while Alfa Romeo is the European muscle car. How we dovetail these two brands is very important.” One solution might be to sell Alfa Romeo models under the Dodge brand in the U.S. and Dodge cars as Alfa Romeos in Europe, Marchionne said. Executives at both Fiat and Chrysler have said they will build a new car in the U.S. based on the mechanical underpinnings of Alfa Romeo’s 149 that hasn’t gone on sale yet. Meanwhile, Chrysler should be able to take control of its European dealer network, by September, Marchionne added. Certain operations are still controlled by Daimler AG, which owned Chrysler from 1998 to 2006, said Gualberto Ranieri, a Chrysler spokesman. No Search Marchionne, 57, said he isn’t searching for another partner in Europe or Asia even though his offer for General Motors Corp.’s Opel unit is coming up short. He said June 26 he won’t sweeten his bid to top front runner Magna International Inc.’s offer to buy the company, even though he’s still interested in the German brand. “We don’t need to own the world,” he said. The executive, who travels frequently between Detroit and Turin, Italy, where Fiat is based, said a plan to spin off or list the Italian company’s car-making operations has been put on hold since its bid for Opel isn’t moving forward. ‘We need a very clear industrial plan to get that done,” Marchionne said. “Opel would have been a real opportunity, which would have allowed us to get to 6 million units, but we’re not there yet.” Managing Cash Fiat doesn’t need cash, he said. The company met its operating profit and cash-generation objectives in the second quarter, Marchionne said. It plans to release results July 22, Ranieri said. “We said our position was going to improve in the second quarter and it has,” said Marchionne. “We’re OK with operating profit, and we’re hopefully going to generate the level of cash flow that’s required.” Marchionne said he expects Fiat to generate even more cash over the next 12 months as market conditions improve. “These things are great cash machines when production runs,” Marchionne said. “When they don’t run, they are huge cash absorbers. One of the things we’ve shown we know how to do is manage operating leverage.” If Fiat decides to issue bonds, it would be to lengthen maturities on its debt, not for getting fresh cash, he said. Fiat has about 4.5 billion euros of debt coming due this year. Fiat gained 1 cent yesterday to 7.16 euros. Its shares have risen 56 percent this year. The Italian automaker is close to selecting a new candidate to replace former Mobil Corp. CEO Lucio Noto as its third representative on Chrysler’s board, Marchionne said. Noto had a conflict with his role as a director at Penske Automotive Group Inc., which has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire the Saturn brand from GM, making it a potential competitor to Chrysler. Marchionne said he is still interviewing candidates, and a choice could be made today or tomorrow. Marchionne and another Fiat executive, Alfredo Altavilla, are the Italian automaker’s other two board representatives.

Fiat non prenderà parte all' odierna riunione per Opel. Solo magna continuerebbe a dialogare con Gm. Sostanzialmente Fiat non vorrebbe prendersi eccessivi rischi e alcuni esperti ritengono che Gm non voglia raggiungere un compromesso con la controparte governativa tedesca.

Pertanto Piech può ritenersi più che soddisfatto. Porsche è con l' acqua alla gola a causa di investimenti spericolati ma si salverà senza dubbio può vendere la porsche retailer che vale ben 4 miliardi di euro, può vendere il marchio Porsche alla Vw ( come vorrebbe Piech ma non come vorrebbero Piech e Wolfgang Porsche) oppure accogliere un investitore arabo.Il fondo sovrano del Qatar ha già detto di essere dipsonibile all' ingresso in un' eventuale gruppo Porsche-Vw. Hanno parecchie opzioni. Con quale quota Fiat s.p.a. rimmerrà nel nuovo gruppo? E soprattutto con quali soldi? Le alte richieste di Marchionne ( alte rispetto a quelle formulate dal management Opel) indicano che per adesso non ci sono investitori pronti ad aspettare che l' ipotetico gruppo torni in utile e completi la sua ristrutturazione. E' anche piuttosto logico ritenere che non ci siano molti investitori desiderosi di entrare nel capitale di un gruppo che richiederebbe grossi investimenti e prometterebbe prima perdite poi scarsa redditività. Diversi matrimoni, all' apparenza più solidi e con più capitali come Bmw-Rover e Daimlerchrysler-Mitsubishi-Hyundai-Kia sono falliti. Puoddarsi che Marchionne abbia una bravura nettamente superiore agli altri manager e che possa realizzare questa avventura imprenditoriale. A parer mio non è giusto che lo faccia a spese del contribuente. Chiudo il mio intervento dato che non è il caso di accendere i toni.
