    Something else makes more sense to me. Canada or Mexico. Both are part of NAFTA. Both have signed FTA with EU. When we are talking about FTA. It will be interesting to follow Mercosur and EU negotiations. FCA has huge production footprint in Mercosur.

    LOL First of all. It's a Grand Commander. A model made currently only for China. The main engine will most likely be a 2.0 turbo with option for a PHEV. It's a FWD car on a Compact platform. Basically it's still related to Giulietta. It's a long wheelbase Cherokee. Start of sales in 2018 in China. New Grand Cherokee codenamed WL will most likely come out on 2020. AFAIK already at the start of production it will have new GME T6 engine. Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are Body on Frame SUV models with codename WS. They will be based on new RAM 1500 which will be presented next month in Detroit. Most likely that WS will be presented in 2019. It's planned as debut for new GME T6 engine.

    What kind of products or which products can be sold or can be successful in American and Chinese markets? Basically for compact models just to will do fine. One is a SUV/crossover. The other one is a sedan. But it can be acceptable in Europe if it has a 5th door.

    IMO, Alfa could shot itself in a foot of they opt for Giorgio platform in a compact segment. It will be to expensive, to heavy, and most likely with cramped claustrophobic interior. Will there be next generation 500X, Renegade, Compass? That's where Alfa must find a reason or solution to build a compact models.

    An internal JL info sheet provided to one JLWF member may have just answered many key remaining questions about the 2018 JL Wrangler including: Sport, Sport S, Sahara and Rubicon pricing, 2.0-liter turbo engine fuel economy figures and a preview of several new and upcoming exterior paint colors.The info sheet provides both 2- and 4-door MSRP showing a price increase of between $2100-$2750 across the lineup.     Engine blocks are most likely identical. Both are open deck. And most likely they are HPDC. Teksid invested a lot in HPDC production in last couple of years. Most likely Teksid produces both GSE and GME blocks. About low revving engine? It's not related to long stroke. BMW B48 has even longer stroke, BMW N20 had similar stroke. So it could be achieved. I expect more from 350 HP version. Trenton has flexible engine line. Most likely they share it with some other engine or engines. So I presume there are some bottlenecks there. What a stupid phrase. "Wrangler must come from Toledo". It's actually funny to me because in the past Wrangler was also produced in Canada.

The 2.0-liter I-4 engine's fuel pump supplies the engine's 2,900-psi high-pressure common-rail injection system. These high pressures produce better fuel atomization and allow for more precise fuel delivery than port fuel-injection systems, which in turn improves both performance and efficiency. The 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine is part of the Global Medium Engine architecture family and features Double Overhead Camshafts (DOHC), dual independent camshaft timing, and a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (C-EGR) system. This is the first time that the combined use of a twin-scroll turbocharger, C-EGR system, Central Direct Injection and the independent liquid cooling intake of air, throttle body and turbo have been employed together. This combination of technologies enables the high levels of performance and reduces fuel consumption.

It is engineered to provide a broad torque band with a focus on low-end torque – an essential trait needed for extreme off-roading. An all-new six-speed manual transmission is standard on all Wrangler models equipped with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, and a new-to-Wrangler eight-speed automatic transmission is optional. Known for its refinement, power, efficiency, and adaptability, there are more than five million 3.6-liter V-6 Pentastar engines on the road today. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler benefits from the popular V-6 engine's low-range torque, which is needed when out on the trails or whenever the conditions call for it. 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine will be available starting in 2019. Wrangler 4-door models will offer the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, rated at 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque, with Engine Stop-Start (ESS) standard. A new eight-speed automatic transmission is standard and is designed to handle the increased torque output. FCA US engineers adapted the engine – manufactured by FCA-owned V.M. Motori – to meet the NAFTA region's regulatory requirements. Starting in 2019, the EcoDiesel V-6 engine implements new turbocharger technology with a low-friction bearing designed for low end and transient performance.     Half doors are coming for 2019 model year (first for the Rubicon and then for the other trims). Ecodiesel is coming for 2019 model year. Sky One-Touch Power Top features a canopy that scrolls back. Aluminum used on doors, door hinges, front fenders. Rear tail gate is constructed from magnesium.
