  3. @Davialfa MQB is not a single platform. What's the point of posting article which is written in ill fate?
  4. @AlexMi This new 1.3 should be different than the older versions. This should have a smaller turbocharger which spools quicker. Let's say that by default it's more suitable for the better fuel economy. Of course mapping improvements also helped. But remember how 1.6 diesel has improved during its life cycle. I'm expecting from the FireFly/GSE to get even better in the future.
  5. Yes, of course. You said that PSA has batteries in the floor? Ah, you didn't. You said that PSA has a platform which can potentially maximize battery capacity put in the floor? Ah, you didn't. You said that PSA has a PHEV platform with around 100 km electric range and no penalty for fuel tank and cargo volume? Ah, you didn't.
  6. @Dodicicilindri Have you seen placing of batteries on CMP? It's not like skateboard. According to yesterday's PSA Q2/H1 Earnings Call CMP will be at that evolutionary step in 2025.
  7. eMini is already here in 2020.... The next iteration of CMP will come out in 2025. EMP v4 which marketing department rechristened as cVMP will come out in 2023. It's still valid to say that FCA is 3 years in front of PSA.
  8. @shadow_line You have right. This platform should be capable for BEV, PHEV, MHEV and ICE. AFAIK this is the first platform of this kind in the world. It should be followed by FCA Giorgio Global and BMW CLAR II in 2021. PSA EMP2 v4 now known as eVMP will come only in 2023. It's interesting to see how much more advanced is FCA engineering team than PSA.
  9. Hmh, they can't if it's not cleared by the EU. Oh, EMP2 v4 with the new marketing name. I don't know how much are you reading news but this platform development was known for quite some time. Actually they are following trends which AFAIK are set by FCA and BMW. Making a single platform with PHEV/BEV and ICE/MHEV subversions. To have a classic platform with skateboard like version. But AFAIK they are 2 years behind the schedule.
  10. This means that there will be no deal. Elkann is well known for walk away from the deals where the other side wants to renegotiate it.
  11. This was known as EMP2 v4. Obviously PSA marketing did a great job.
  12. @nucarote AFAIK Ralph Gilles is native French speaker raised in Francophone part of Canada and is of Haitian descent which means he is native French speaker.
  13. https://moparinsiders.com/caught-autocar-india-catches-the-2022-jeep-compass-interior/ From what I've seen infotainment screen and vent integration will be ala Volvo. It's definitely vertical.
  14. Maybe.. But IMO Small Wide covers B+ all the way through D- segments. Or will cover it. Much or less similar to EMP2. The question is can a Small Wide offer a proper B segment hatchback? I'm not sure about it. Surely not with 4 meters in length. Maybe with 4.1 m or 4.15 m in length. And it would be tall as is Tipo. I see Small Wide as a perfect FWD platform for SUV segment.
  15. Currently most CMP based cars are selling bellow expectations. It may be due to COVID19 but who knows. On the other hand Renault has nailed it with new Clio and Captur. They are selling like hotcakes. But then I always preferred merger with Renault. Elkann preferred it. Merger with PSA was Manley's idea.
  16. 2008 II Unfortunately it also doesn't offer much in terms of leg room. 208 II should be around 250 liters for luggage volume. PSA? It's excellent in terms of cost cutting but their platforms are not to rave about in terms of technical excellence. Poor crash structure, poor packaging, cost cutting on 1.2 liter engine with no hydraulic valve lifters... And so on and on. AFAIK currently new 208 II is selling below expectations. It's interesting to note that the old 208 offered more combined leg room than the new one.
  17. I'm pretty much sure that you can't make a proper A segment car on a CMP platform. Already 208 II is the smallest in class inside. In general PSA platforms have big issue with packaging. So yes moving to PSA platforms for people movers is step backwards.
