  1. ..con 50k Stelvio/Giulia al anno? Bella sinergia 🥶
  8. GM aims to stop selling gasoline vehicles by 2035 in carbon neutrality pledge GM CEO Mary Barra speaks at an event last year detailing the automaker's electric vehicle technologies. DETROIT — General Motors plans to stop selling gasoline-powered vehicles worldwide by 2035 as it works toward a goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2040. The seismic shift in product strategy will have a significant impact on showrooms and manufacturing plants in China and North America, where the company is a leading producer and seller of light trucks and cars. "General Motors is joining governments and companies around the globe working to establish a safer, greener and better world," CEO Mary Barra said in a post Thursday on LinkedIn. "We believe that with our scale and reach we can encourage others to follow suit and make a significant impact on our industry and on the economy as a whole." GM's commitment to carbon neutrality follows promises from other automakers, including Ford Motor Co., Volvo Cars and Nissan. GM's goal is a decade ahead of the targets Ford and Nissan have set but in line with Volvo's. "To get there we'll have 100 percent of our portfolio fully electric, and that's the vision we're setting," Dane Parker, chief sustainability officer, said on a call with reporters. GM has said it will invest $27 billion in electric and autonomous vehicle development and launch 30 EVs globally through 2025. GM aims to sell zero-emission vehicles across a range of price points and segments, power its facilities with renewable energy and work with stakeholders to build a charging infrastructure and promote customer adoption of EVs. The automaker signed a pledge called the "Business Ambition for 1.5 Degrees Celsius" to help limit global warming and meet the goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement, which the U.S. rejoined shortly after President Joe Biden took office last week, GM said in a statement. GM said it also will work with the Environmental Defense Fund to eliminate tailpipe emissions from new light-duty vehicles by 2035, when California plans to ban the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles. "GM is making it crystal clear that taking action to eliminate pollution from all new light-duty vehicles by 2035 is an essential element of any automaker's business plan," Environmental Defense Fund President Fred Krupp said in GM's statement. "EDF and GM have had some important differences in the past, but this is a new day in America — one where serious collaboration to achieve transportation electrification, science-based climate progress and equitably shared economic opportunity can move our nation forward." Rep. Debbie Dingell, a Michigan Democrat, commended GM’s carbon neutral announcement. “We have had discussions for months with the auto industry, labor unions and the environmental community on concrete actions like this that must be taken to reach carbon neutrality,” Dingell said in a statement. “We have a lot of work ahead of us.” As the U.S. ramps up efforts to transition to an electrified future under the Biden administration, Dingell said she will continue to “engage with all stakeholders to create an electric vehicle infrastructure to support these efforts and help our domestic auto industry compete globally” while also focusing on “creating jobs, confronting climate change and the transformation of an innovative mobility industry.” Meanwhile, the UAW said it is working closely with the new administration on policies related to the long-term development of EVs in the U.S. “Even with these new product goals, it will be some time before the transition occurs,” the UAW said in a statement. “But the important thing is that President Biden agrees with our position that any new jobs replacing combustible engines are union wage and benefit jobs that are created right here in the U.S. And we believe the Detroit 3 will locate these new products right here in the U.S.” Steps to carbon neutrality GM says it will decarbonize its portfolio by transitioning to EVs or other zero-emission vehicle technology and sourcing renewable energy. Despite the sweeping actions, GM still expects to invest sparingly in carbon credits or offsets to account for remaining carbon issues, the statement said. "Where removing emissions is not possible — for example if the technology does not yet exist in those timeframes — we will compensate for those emissions through carbon credits or carbon capture," Barra said. "Our preference will always be for removal of emissions. This is a critical step on the path to a net-zero-carbon future." GM will also increase fuel efficiency of its gas-powered vehicles with fuel economy improvement technology, such as stop-start, aerodynamic efficiency enhancements, downsized boosted engines, more efficient transmissions and other vehicle improvements. The automaker aims to have all of its U.S. sites powered by renewable energy by 2030 and global sites by 2035. GM has created a sustainability council with its suppliers to share best practices and create new industry standards, the statement said. For many consumers, Barra said, owning an EV today is unreasonable because the right vehicle isn't in the market or access to charging is limited where they live and work. "That is why it is critical we improve the fuel efficiency of the gas- and diesel-powered vehicles many people still rely on for their families and their livelihoods," she said. "This is also why it is so important we deliver a full range of electric vehicles. It's why we are working to improve access to renewable-energy charging and why, with our Ultium technology platform, we are advancing the technologies necessary to increase the range of EVs."
  9. Perche? Ci sono soluzione molto compatte come quella di GKN e altri che sono sicuramente integrabile senza fare tutto l'auto di nuovo.

  12. Stuttgart, Germany – Daimler completed the financial year of 2020 in a challenging environment with a very strong fourth quarter, in particular with regard to Industrial Free Cash Flow. All divisions contributed to this success. Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans exceeded key financial metrics of the financial year 2019. Industrial Free Cash Flow, Daimler Group EBIT, Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans Return on Sales adjusted and Daimler Mobility Return on Equity adjusted are all significantly above Daimler’s guidance or significantly above market expectations for the financial year 2020. The Industrial Free Cash Flow in the fourth quarter reflects the continued extensive cost and cash preservation measures and strong operative performances across all divisions leading to favorable cash-conversion ratios. “Our strategic initiatives and our intense operational efforts are combining to deliver a significant improvement in financial performance across the company. We have continued to keep a tight grip on cost and cash while on the commercial side we have seen strong demand for our products across all major markets and divisions. At Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans, we were able to combine a rapid acceleration in xEV sales with a strong financial result in Q4. At Daimler Trucks, the recovery of the US-market has accelerated and we are beginning to see a positive impact from new efficiency measures in our European operations. We intend to continue to make further progress on cost-efficiencies in 2021 and will accelerate the implementation of our strategic initiatives,” stated Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG. The following stated figures for the FY 2020 are preliminary and unaudited: Industrial Free Cash Flow: € 8,259 million (consensus: € 5,296 million); Industrial Free Cash Flow adjusted: € 9,155 million (consensus: n/a) Net Industrial Liquidity: € 17.9 billion (end of Q3 2020: € 13.1 billion) Daimler Group EBIT: € 6,603 million (consensus: € 5,245 million); EBIT adjusted: € 8,641 million (consensus: € 7,120 million) Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans EBIT: € 5,172 million (consensus: € 3,850 million); EBIT adjusted: € 6,802 million (consensus: € 5,390 million); Return on Sales (RoS) adjusted: 6.9% (consensus: 5.5%) Daimler Trucks & Buses EBIT: € 525 million (consensus: € 556 million); adjusted EBIT: € 678 million (consensus: € 689 million); Return on Sales (RoS) adjusted: 2.0% (consensus: 2.0%) Daimler Mobility EBIT: € 1,436 million (consensus: € 1,318 million); adjusted EBIT: € 1,595 million (consensus: € 1,449 million); Return on Equity (RoE) adjusted: 10.9% (consensus: n/a) (Daimler-Benz)

  17. Jaguar Land Rover appoints creative chief McGovern to board as it redefines strategy Reuters LONDON -- Jaguar Land Rover appointed creative boss Gerry McGovern to the board of management to help redefine the Jaguar brand as the UK automaker reviews its strategy under new CEO Thierry Bollore. Bollore took over the company in September and faces a number of challenges including electrification, managing underutilization of its plants, handling the rapid fall in diesel sales and the effect of COVID-19 on the industry. The Jaguar brand has also underperformed Land Rover in recent years with some model overlap. Bollore said McGovern would be "developing the character, distinction and personality of each" brand and the role includes leading the design function at the marques. "Jaguar Land Rover continues to transform its business at pace and redefine its strategic direction," the Tata Motors-owned company said in a statement. "In his new role McGovern’s recognized creative mindset along with his business acumen will also take on the curation of the Jaguar brand with a remit to redefine its future." After leading Land Rover design since 2006, McGovern was promoted to Jaguar Land Rover's chief creative officer, overseeing Jaguar design boss Julian Thomson and Land Rover design head Massimo Frascella.
