Quest’anno, il quindicesimo consecutivo al Salone di Ginevra, l’Istituto Europeo di Design presenta una reinterpretazione del dune buggy, una concept ispirata a praticità e divertimento e progettata per la Hyundai. Si chiama Kite ed è il risultato del progetto di tesi del gruppo internazionale di giovani designer del Master biennale in Transportation Design dello Ied di Torino, finalizzato seguendo i processi come in un vero Centro stile di una casa automobilistica. Dalla sabbia all'acqua. Il punto di partenza è stato lo storico dune buggy, icona degli anni Sessanta e Settanta che ha interpretato il sogno di libertà, di divertimento e di off-road non impegnativo, ma che ha anche avuto applicazioni in campo militare e professionale. La Hyundai Kite, in realtà, racchiude due veicoli in uno: il dune buggy, infatti, diventa anche un jet-ski monoposto, avvicinando i tre elementi terra, acqua e aria. Propulsione elettrica.
