Citroën has confirmed a production version of the DS Wild Rubis concept will be launched next year in China.

The car will receive the "DS X7" nameplate and will be manufactured only in China by the Changan-PSA joint venture. Production is scheduled to commence in late 2014 while first deliveries will be made in the first part of 2015. For the moment there aren't any plans to sell the car in Europe, but this could change in the near future.

It will utilize the same platform as the DS5 and will get its 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 163 bhp (121 kW). Various sources are indicating the car will also be offered with a beefier 1.8-liter turbo but Citroën hasn't confirmed this engine.
