The hand-crafted Rich Oak veneer is new to XJ Portfolio, and there is the choice of two unique interior themes – Navy or Ivory. Each features contrast piping to the softgrain leather upholstery, special twin-stitched door casings and headrests embossed with the Jaguar ‘Leaper’ design. The alloy gear selector, with aluminum gearshift surround, is also trimmed with Navy leather, and there are ‘Portfolio’ branded treadplates and special leather-edged carpet mats.

Jaguar XJ Portfolio

Il non plus ultra del Giaguaro, ma in Italia non arriveranno

Tre anni fa, al Salone di New York, Jaguar varò la prima edizione della serie limitata Portfolio, la Jaguar Super V8 Portfolio, un allestimento top che venne poi offerto anche sulla più performante XJR e sulla sportiva XKR. A Ginevra 2008, sia il modello più lonegvo della gamma che la spider del Marchio di Coventry, si presentano col prestigioso allestimento, dedicato a chi vuole il meglio che Jaguar può offrire in termini di lusso ed esclusività.

AMMIRAGLIA NON PER CASO

L'unico limite di questa versione sembrano essere le tinte di carrozzeria, visto che la XJ Portfolio è disponibile solo con due colorazioni - Celestial Black e Astral Gold - sulle quali contrastano in maniera ottimale gli sfoghi d'aria in alluminio lucidato posizionati appena dietro i passaruota anteriori. Le poche modifiche a livello estetico per questa XJ sono riassumibili negli specchietti retrovisori cromati e nei cerchi da 20 pollici che ospitano pneumatici 235/35 con stampigliato sul mozzo l'antico logo Jaguar.

Quelle "attenzioni" che all'esterno sono state, volontariamente, limitate trovano all'interno libero sfogo. Un tripudio di pelle chiara (in alternativa è disponibile un blu scuro) e legno di quercia lavorato a mano accoglie elegantemente i passeggeri. Un uso intensivo di alluminio satinato è stato fatto per realizzare molti particolari dell'abitacolo che non concede nessuna deroga al comfort con sedili anteriori riscaldati o raffreddati, impianto audio Jaguar ad altissima fedeltà, navigatore satellitare con schermo touch screen, connessione Bluetooth in grado di gestire fino a 5 telefoni cellulari, climatizzatore bi-zona con comandi anche per i passeggeri posteriori, cruise control ed un sistema DVD con schermi integrati sui poggiatesta anteriori.

Tre i motori con cui verrà commercializzata a seconda dei mercati: il celebre V8 sovralimentato da 4.2 litri e 395 CV in grado di fra arrivare la XJ Portfolio a 100 Km/h in 5,3 secondi, oltre alla sua versione senza turbo da 298 CV e all'altrettanto noto V6 Diesel da 2.7 litri con 207 CV, tutti abbinati a cambio automatico a 6 rapporti.
