Mazda has announced a sedan version of the recently unveiled 2014 Mazda3 will be launched.

The new generation of the Mazda3 was unveiled yesterday and the Japanese marque told AutoBlog that a sedan version will be available, without giving a specific launch date. For Japan, Mazda is also preparing a hybrid sedan variant of the new "3", while United States could receive the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine if the diesel-powered Mazda6 will be a success.

There are no details at the moment regarding a Mazdaspeed3 version, but previous rumors have indicated such a model will be launched after the regular variant.

Sales of the 2014 Mazda3 will commence this September in United States and will be followed shortly by other markets.
