La versione base ha un motore da 2.0 litri TDI da 90 CV. Inoltre, troviamo altre tre configurazioni  con 110, 150 e 199 CV rispettivamente. Per inciso, Volkswagen ha progettato un modello elettrico insieme ad ABT, che eroga 112 CV. Il sistema elettrico è associato ad un pacco batteria da 77,6 kWh che gli garantisce un'autonomia di 400 chilometri, ma secondo ciclo NEDC, quindi nel ciclo reale sarà minore.
