Certo però.. mi fanno tutto questo popo' di macchina, mi si potevano sforzare un po' di più e fare le porte coi finestrini a giorno invece che col telaietto non dico che sia fondamentale ma sarebbe stata la ciliegina sulla torta. Forse il disegno della finestratura non lo permette.

Per il paraurti anteriore chissà, potrebbe rimanere in un'eventuale OPC.

Hot Astra 'has Lotus input'

Vauxhall/Opel has turned to British roads - and Lotus's engineering division - to fine-tune the forthcoming Astra VXR for UK buyers.

Most development work on the next-generation three-door Astra, likely to carry the badge GTC, has been conducted around Opel's traditional engineering base in Germany.

However, for the high-performance version of the car, which is expected to have between 280bhp and 300bhp, the firm is said to have turned to the chassis experts at Lotus for assistance. It's not the first time that Lotus has worked on a hot Astra; it was widely recognised as a strong influence over the set-up of the previous VXR.

Official confirmation of the involvement is unlikely to be forthcoming, however, since it is said to have been conducted on a consultation basis.

While the old VXR had an electronic 'limited-slip differential' system, Vauxhall/Opel is said to be switching the next version of the car to a mechanical set-up. It's likely that one of Lotus's main missions will have been to tune this set-up, aiming to reduce torque steer. The car is also likely to get the Hyperstrut front suspension that was developed for the Insignia VXR.

The new VXR will arrive at roughly the same time as the regular three-door Astra - but that's not expected to be until the end of next year.

Una bella bestiona.. chissà come sarà il profilo degli scarichi nelle versioni "tranquille". Peccato che per aver un buon rapporto peso-potenza ci vorranno dei motori che spingono (e che bevono) .

Mah, per quanto queste notizie e certi accorgimenti tecnici siano interessanti, c'è appunto il problema del peso che non solo accresce il rapporto peso/potenza, ma comporta un sovradimensionamento di freni, gomme, ecc...

Ho letto che la GTC Concept Paris è l'anteprima della versione SRi/GSi , mentre l'allestimento VXR/OPC avrà un look più aggressivo e sarà ancora più potente il motore. Anzi sembra che avrà più dei 305cv della Focus RS, "will be the most powerful car in its class".

We first clapped eyes on the Astra GTC Paris on the stands in the French capital earlier this month. But now, Auto Express has been given exclusive access to Vauxhall’s stunning show car.

It previews the three-door Astra, due late next year – yet it can barely be called a concept. Vice president of design Mark Adams explained: “As we’ve proved with the Insignia and Meriva, we can bring dramatic cars from concept to production, and the final Astra three-door will be no exception.” Some features will be axed for the showrooms, though. Adams confirmed that the striking red paint is too expensive to offer on road models, while those huge 21-inch wheels will make way for a smaller set.

The cabin is essentially production-ready, and neat touches such as the contrast-stitched leather and Alcantara seats give a sporty feel. However, the writing on the bases – a quote about speed and beauty from Richard Bach’s novel, Jonathan Livingston Seagull – won’t feature on roadgoing models.

Despite the sporty bodykit, Vauxhall sources tell us the Astra GTC doesn’t preview the new VXR performance model, but an SRi warm hatch. The flagship will get an even more aggressive design and, as with past VXRs, will be the most powerful car in its class. That means the direct-injection 2.0-litre turbo will give more than the Ford Focus RS’s 301bhp.

effettivamente sul Concept GTC non c'è scritto OPC ma GTC su cambio, volante, sedili, mentre su tutte le OPC c'è sempre stato scrritto OPC…mah...
