Esempio di notizie alla ***** di cane

Originale, di cui il sunto: Il futuro Freelander nascerà sotto l'ala della famiglia Discovery. Ci saranno così tre pilastri Range Rover, Discovery e Defender.

[h=2]Current Land Rover Freelander will be replaced by a new model rebranded as Discovery[/h]Land Rover is planning a major shake-up of its range structure – and it’ll start with the replacement for the Freelander, codenamed L550.

As our exclusive image shows, it will be rebranded as a babyDiscovery, and will sit below the full-size model in the line-up when it arrives in 2015.

Official details on the new Discovery range will begin to emerge in the first half of 2014 (possibly at the Geneva Motor Show in March), to coincide with the Discovery's 25th anniversary. The full production version will then star at September’s Paris show.

The radical rethink is part of Land Rover’s long-term strategy to divide its products into three distinct ‘pillars’. The ‘luxury’ pillar already contains the three Range Rover models; it will be rounded off by a luxurious £120,000-plus Range Rover Ultimate at next month’s Dubai Motor Show, plus a long-wheelbase Range Rover that’ll debut at the LA show, also next month.

The ‘dual purpose’ pillar will contain the new Defender family. This leaves the Discovery and its new baby brother to fill the ‘leisure’ pillar – hence the Discovery lettering on the nose, which takes cues from the recently revealed 2014 model.

Elsewhere, the new baby Disco distances itself from the more stylised Range Rover Evoque with rugged, slab-sided proportions, roof rails and chunky underbody protection. The front end features a more three-dimensional grille and narrower headlamps with daytime running lights.

The model shown here is a five-seater, like the current Freelander, but a stretched-wheelbase 5+2 version will also be offered for the first time. Yet while the bodywork, interior, engines and badge will be new, the underpinnings will be carried over from the current Freelander.

Articolo travisato da WCF, di cui il sunto: il futuro Freelander perderà il suo nome e si chiamerà Defender.

A new report indicates the next generation of the Land Rover Freelander will be sold with the Defender moniker. In May we heard a rumor about Land Rover dropping the Freelander nameplate for the next generation and now British media reports the car will receive the Defender moniker. Internally codenamed L550, the new generation will essentially be a baby Discovery and will allegedly be shown in production guise in September 2014 at the Paris Motor Show.

A Land Rover representative told Automotive News Europe "the Defender will go out of production by the middle of the decade due to legislative reasons" but didn't want to elaborate on the story.

Auto Express mentions this decision is part of Land Rover's new long-term strategy to have three distinctive pillars in its model lineup. The first one is "Luxury" with the trio Range Rovers and an additional upper-spec 120,000 GBP Range Rover Ultimate which will be shown in November at the Dubai Motor Show. There will also be a fifth model in the form of a long wheelbase Range Rover which we shall see at next month's Los Angeles Auto Show.

The second pillar, dubbed "Dual Purpose", will encompass the revamped Defender family, while the "Leisure" pillar will contain the Discovery. The latter will look more rugged than the stylish Range Rovers and will be offered at first as a five-seater, but a 5+2 model is already planned. While the underpinnings will be taken from the current Freelander, the new Discovery will boast new engines, interior and body panels.
