Nanjing Fiat Automobile, joint venture di Fiat con la cinese Nanjing Automobile, ha registrato un aumento del 37% delle immatricolazioni nel 2005 rispetto grazie all'elevata domanda del mercato.

Attualmente Nanjing Fiat vende tre modelli in Cina: Palio, Siena e Weekend. Intanto l'associazione cinese dei costruttori di auto (caam) stima che le immatricolazioni di auto nel Paese saliranno del 13% quest'anno a 6,4 milioni di unità. Il tasso di crescita ha rallentato decisamente il passo negli ultimi due anni.
