Jaguar has unveiled Type 01, the most technologically advanced and powerful Jaguar in the brand’s history.

New York, USA, 6 October 2026: Jaguar has unveiled Type 01, the most technologically advanced and powerful Jaguar in the brand’s history. A luxury four‑door GT that never arrives unnoticed.

Type 01 inspired a celebration of contemporary culture across New York. This was a one‑of‑a‑kind premiere, from large‑scale digital displays in Times Square, DUMBO and the Lower East Side, to its dynamic arrival for an exclusive gathering at STORIED in West Chelsea, zip code 10001.

Type 01 is defined by exuberant proportions, with its low roofline, long bonnet, sleek silhouette and dramatic presence. Starting from a single line and a blank sheet of paper, it is the most aerodynamic and powerful Jaguar road car. A bold, one‑of‑a‑kind that breaks convention, with a clear lineage to the great Jaguars of the past including the E‑type and XJS.  

Beneath Type 01’s clean surfaces is a bespoke Jaguar Electric Architecture which offers more than 1,000PS, always with power in reserve, for a drive that is unmistakably Jaguar. Powered by an 850‑volt electrical architecture, it delivers a 400‑mile range (EPA) and adds 200 miles in 13 minutes using 350kW charging. Type 01 represents a new standard of power, aerodynamics and technological advancement for Jaguar.

At the world premiere of Type 01 at STORIED in New York, Jaguar announced acclaimed actor Florence Pugh as the inaugural brand ambassador for its new era. Embodying the originality, fearlessness and creative spirit that define Jaguar.

Pugh joined guests and friends of the brand to celebrate the global arrival of Type 01 with a night dedicated to bold creativity and artistic expression. British singer‑songwriter Sienna Spiro, Best New Artist at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, performed an intimate set. Celebrated chef Roze Traoré conceived an exclusive culinary programme inspired by Jaguar's fearless creative vision.

New York provided the brand with an international stage from which to celebrate originality and British innovation – a city where art, fashion, film, music and design create one of the world’s most influential centres of reinvention.

At STORIED NYC, guests encountered a series of product artefacts exploring the artistry that brought the Type 01 vision to life: 

• Creative engineering: The single line penned by Jaguar designers in the beginning, hung from the ceiling in aluminium form as a symbol of a design vision made possible by creative engineering 

• Relentless dedication: The Impossible Panel embodies the unwavering commitment to bring the exuberant, dramatic body shape to production

• Dual character: Tyre marks from a section of test track illustrate the hundreds of thousands of kilometres of testing that shaped Type 01’s dual character – composed and dynamic

The STORIED reveal sequence began with Type 01’s dynamic arrival, driven by António Félix da Costa from the World Championship‑winning Jaguar TCS Racing team.

This was the biggest moment since the Jaguar name was born in 1935. A fitting tribute and a powerful expression of Jaguar's dramatic new era. A new chapter for the brand begins with Type 01. Jaguar is back. Orders open early 2027 with first client deliveries expected in the second half of the year. Prices start from 130,000 GBP.
