Kia's mid-sized SUV will wear the Borrego nameplate when it goes on sale in the United States next summer, the automaker said Tuesday.

The Kia Borrego will get an auto show debut in Detroit in January. It will go on sale as a 2009 model and be imported from South Korea.

The Borrego will be a body-on-frame SUV, and equipped with either a base V6 engine or an optional V8, Kia said.
