Acura NEXERA Vision Debuts at Monterey Car Week, Redefining the Future of Acura Design

August 13, 2026 — MONTEREY, Calif.

  • NEXERA Vision concept ignites a bold new era for Acura, introducing new exterior and interior design language for the brand

  • New Acura lighting signature on NEXERA Vision will debut on the next-generation Acura models, beginning with RDX Hybrid arriving in the coming years

  • Acura NEXERA Vision makes its global debut Aug. 14 at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering

Acura today unveiled the Acura NEXERA Vision, introducing a new design direction inspired by the brand's challenger spirit – a defining tenet of Acura since its inception 40 years ago. Making its global debut at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on Aug. 14 during California's famed Monterey Car Week, the NEXERA Vision ignites a bold new era for Acura with a unique fusion of timeless beauty and high-tech details, inside and out.

Designed at the Acura Design California studio in Los Angeles under the guidance of Yasutake Tsuchida, the new Acura Creative Director and Vice President of Auto Design, the NEXERA Vision will influence the styling of future Acura models, beginning with the 4th-generation RDX Hybrid arriving in the coming years.

"We are using the 40th anniversary of Acura as a springboard to our future, with the Acura NEXERA Vision serving as the design language for future Acura models," said Yasutake Tsuchida, Acura Creative Director and Vice President of Auto Design. "Our goal with this new design direction is to define Acura performance through disciplined proportions, sculpted form and the seamless integration of advanced technology, creating an expression that is both progressive and authentic to the brand."

Acura NEXERA Vision Exterior Design Delivers Visual Exhilaration

Demonstrating Acura's commitment to performance, the NEXERA Vision combines timeless design and proportion to deliver visual exhilaration with dramatic dual-hinge butterfly doors, active aerodynamics and a distinctive new lighting signature. Finished in Matte Titanium, a sleek exterior color with arresting metallic depth, the NEXERA Vision has a striking profile defined by its wide, powerful stance, long dash-to-axle ratio and one-motion cabin.

The Acura NEXERA Vision exudes confidence and high-performance capability through sculpted muscular surfaces and an aero-channel fascia. An active rear spoiler manages airflow across the rear decklid to enhance aerodynamic efficiency, high-speed stability and braking performance. The coupe's dual-hinge butterfly doors create a bold, dramatic entry, expressing Acura performance DNA from the first interaction.

High-performance carbon ceramic Brembo brakes show through the 22-inch centerlock wheels, a first for Acura, with a distinctive 3D directional design and matte anodized finish with forged carbon fiber inserts. Forged carbon also forms the coupe's aero-channel fascia, rear diffuser, rocker panels, inner door structures and other performance details.

New Acura Lighting Signature Applied to NEXERA Vision

Hidden behind the NEXERA Vision's bodywork, innovative "phantom lighting" is dramatically revealed when illuminated, giving the coupe uninterrupted sculpted surfacing. The ultra-thin headlights and taillights were inspired by the brand's ‘A' mark to create a unique new lighting signature that will be found on future Acura production designs, starting with the next-generation Acura RDX Hybrid.

"To reinforce the new Acura styling identity, we developed a unique lighting signature inspired by the Acura ‘A' mark—an unmistakable design element created to make this new era of Acura instantly recognizable," said Tsuchida. "The NEXERA Vision sets the course for the next generation of Acura design, and we are committed to evolving that direction with clarity, consistency and purpose across future Acura products."

Acura NEXERA Vision Redefines the Sports Car Cockpit

The Acura NEXERA Vision interior redefines the sports car cockpit by balancing spaciousness with precision-focused intimacy. Every detail is crafted for performance and expressed in pure form, function and material. The cabin is a refined driver-focused environment, designed for performance, by eliminating distractions while amplifying the visceral thrill of driving.

For a grounded feel, the front seats are integrated into the floor in a fixed position. This significantly lowers the driver's seating position, while the coupe's pedals and steering wheel adjust to meet the driver.

The black-and-white interior of the Acura NEXERA Vision pairs premium sustainable materials and forged carbon alongside gloss black finishes and high-contrast pink accents, creating a sharp, contemporary performance cockpit. Sustainable materials featured throughout NEXERA Vision include recycled aluminum, Alcantara® incorporating certified post-consumer recycled polyester, and CircuLeather®, a genuine leather material designed to support a more circular material lifecycle.

"Sustainability is playing an increasingly important role in how premium quality and performance are defined, and the Acura brand is embracing innovative material technologies that bring fresh possibilities to the customer experience while supporting broader environmental ambitions," Tsuchida added. "These advancements help reduce the carbon footprint associated with our products and create new opportunities to challenge conventional ideas of quality, inspiring a new perspective on what premium can be."

Following its world premiere at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on Friday, Aug. 14, the Acura NEXERA Vision will be showcased at the historic Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Concept Lawn on Sunday, Aug. 16.

Boh.
