Non lo capisci tu forse Il successo della Soul era all epoca stato citato parecchie volte dal management Fiat per "giustificare" il fatto di portare 500L in USA anche con target di vendita abbastanza ottimisti. Si puo dire che era vista come benchmark di piccola "people mover" di successo.

per discutere su numeri, riporto le vendite EU ed USA di 500L . Restano fuori le vendite in Serbia , Canada ed altri paesi extra EU

Is Dodge taking Journey to Italy?

Fiat Chrysler will shift Dodge Journey production from Mexico to Italy when the compact crossover is redesigned for the 2019 model year, supplier sources say.

The next-generation Journey is expected to share a platform with the Alfa Romeo Giulia. That means a transition from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive would likely continue to be an option.

Moving production to Europe would help FCA free up capacity in North America, where the company wants to expand output of Jeep SUVs and Ram pickups. It would also boost plant utilization in FCA’s European assembly operations, which remain underutilized as Europe continues to recover from its economic downturn.

The Journey is currently sold in Europe as the Fiat Freemont.

Fiat Chrysler’s 2014 Product Plan called for the redesigned Journey to be introduced this fall. However, as Automotive News reported in April, the current model will soldier on for at least two more model years and continue to be built at FCA’s Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico.

Production on the 2017 Journey is scheduled to begin July 25 and the 2018 model will enter production in Toluca on July 17, 2017, an FCA source said.

Toluca Assembly also produces the Fiat 500. However, FCA is building pilot vehicles in Toluca for the successor to the Jeep Compass and Patriot. Full production of the Compass and Patriot successor is scheduled to begin at the plant on Jan. 30, 2017.

The Journey is one of FCA’s oldest models — significant U.S. sales began in 2008 — and has one of its oldest powertrains. It has a four-speed automatic transmission in its most fuel-efficient model, which is rated at 19 mpg city/26 highway.

If the redesigned version moves to a rear-wheel-drive powertrain, as expected, it would likely mean a shift to an eight-speed transmission and a significant increase in fuel economy.

They Journey received its last major freshening for the 2011 model year. Through May, sales are down  9.7 percent in the U.S. to 37,423.

Possibile produzione del nuovo Journey (se si chiamerà ancora così.....) in Italia per liberare capacità produttiva in NA a beneficio di trucks e suv.

Secondo me è più probabile che si tratti di una Crossover "pseudosportiva" piuttosto che un vero erede di Freemont\Journey che potrebbe invece passare a marchio Chrysler immagino su piattaforma C come la Pacifica.

Esatto è una indiscrezione che gira da tempo su Allpar, non sarà una vera e propria sostituta del Journey ma un suv ''sportiveggiante'', un suv assimilabile al Journey probabilmente lo faranno a marchio Chry su base Pacifica.

 

Su Allpar si staranno stracciando le vesti... per me MAGARI lo fanno in Italia, anche sè mi suona un pò strano, lo venderanno anche da noi? Se no, ok saturare e sfruttare gli impianti Italiani che lavoreranno su quelle piattaforme, fare spazio per altri mezzi negli impianti USA, ma costruire qui un mezzo solo per esportazioni mi pare un pò strano, non impossibile ma strano.

Potrebbe avere senso se avesse un fratello a marchio Alfa, un pò come 500x/Renegade.

Il fratello a marchio Alfa è lo Stelvio, con le dovute differenze sottopelle chiaramente, ma credo che potrebbero costruirlo anche in uno stabilimento diverso da Cassino dove faranno lo Stelvio, tipo Poimigliano dove pare faranno altre Alfa su base Giorgio.

Maybe there is no other vehicle on Giorgio from US part of FCA before 2020 or even 2021? In that case it's not reasonable to make Dodge D-SUV in USA which will be 2019 model year and they could be even make it from first half of 2018. That timeframe is very close to next generation Giulietta. Could this car use a space in Cassino which is now occupied by Giulietta? We are talking about car which will most probably be sold at a ~100k rate in US at best.

Italian magazine Quattroruote, some years ago, said that new Bravo will be a crossover (this was said in 2010 I think).

 

Now, consider that in Eu the city-suv or crossover are trendy, is it possible that the new Freemont/Bravo will be something similar to Mercedes GLA?
