The pieces of the puzzle are starting to add up concerning the all-new A7 as after finding out it will lose the distinctive rear end, now we are hearing the body will be widened and the car is going to be lowered a bit. It will be influenced by the Prologue concept styled by March Lichte who is now the man with the difficult task of elaborating new designs in Ingolstadt. He promised more differentiation between the models, and according toAutomobile Magazine the second-gen A7 will "combine subtle elegance with extroverted sportiness."

The report mentions it will have a more powerful visual presence while providing a high level of craftsmanship combined with active aerodynamic aids and a reinterpreted single frame front grille. It's also getting sharp-looking LED headlights and more bulged fenders while on the inside it will ditch some of the physical buttons and knobs in favor of a touchscreen-operated infotainment system.

One of the engines planned is an inline-four 2.0-liter engine with e-turbo technology that will deliver as much as 326 bhp (243 kW) and there's going to be a new S7 with 500 bhp (373 kW) from an upgraded V6 3.0-liter turbo. As for the range-topping RS7, it will use an evolution of the twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter with as much as 575 bhp (429 kW) while the hottest diesel will be a V6 pushing out 350 bhp (261 kW).

For those who value fuel economy, a plug-in hybrid version will combine a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor, but there's also going to be a punchier hybridized V6 model.

Motivo per cui le proporzioni dovrebbero essere piuttosto diverse da quelle attuali, rendendo l'auto più larga e basse con influenze prese dal concept Prologue.

Avrà anche più presenza scenica dell'attuale grazie a nuovi dettagli di design.

Si. Temo che diventerà davvero "troppo" se non lo contestualizzano in modo sapiente.

 

Bello l'andamento da fastback, meno male che lo hanno tenuto come elemento stilistico e fortemente caratteristico di A7.  Però.......quello sbalzo posteriore.......si poteva ridurre un pochetto IMHO......
