Print Send

ALSTOM, the world leader in technologies for high-speed rail travel, will attend the 5th Eurailspeed International Congress which will be held in Milan from November 7th – 9th 2005.

PENDOLINO

This year, ALSTOM will highlight the full-scale model of the Giugiaro-designed new PENDOLINO, the latest TGV train and its ERTMS systems confirming the company’s continuous commitment with respect to innovation and research.

For the first time, visitors will be able to discover the new PENDOLINO train manufactured by ALSTOM for Trenitalia. ALSTOM has organized a road-show in co-operation with Trenitalia to take a mock-up of the new PENDOLINO to six squares in six Italian cities : Milan, Naples, Rome, Bari, Reggio Calabria and Turin. During the Eurailspeed event, the mock up will be exhibited at Duomo Square in Milan, the first city to host it.

Furthermore, ALSTOM will show the powercars for the TGV East which will connect Paris with eastern France, southwest Germany, Luxemburg and Switzerland. They are the first powercars to be equipped with an asynchronous traction drive.

ALSTOM is a member of the Saturno Consortium and has been active in the implementation of the new ERTMS technologies (European Railway Traffic Management System) in Italy on the Milan-Turin, the Florence-Rome and the Rome-Naples high-speed lines. At Eurailspeed, ALSTOM will highlight the Rome-Naples line, the first line equipped with ERTMS level 2 to become operational. From December 12 th onwards, European trains will be able to run safely on this line at 300 km/h.

As a transport solution provider with a complete product range, ALSTOM will also show examples of its infrastructure, train-life-services and signaling activities within the high-speed sector.

At Alstom’s stand (Pavilion 17 – 1st floor – Stand 1070) visitors from all over the world will be able to see the progress which has been made in high-speed transport over the last 25 years. The stand shows the past, present and future of high-speed systems through Alstom’s most important successes.

With more than 35 product lines and a presence in more than 60 countries, ALSTOM's Transport sector offers complete products and services for new rolling stock, signaling, and electrical and mechanical infrastructure as well as maintenance and rehabilitation services to four distinct types of customers: urban transit authorities and operators; intercity passenger rail operators and rolling stock owners; rail freight operators; and intercity railway infrastructure owners. ALSTOM's Transport sector, with sales of 5.1 billion euros in financial year 2004-2005, is among the world's leading suppliers to the railway industry.

A me viene l'incazzatura a pensare che il primo treno ad assetto variabile era marchiato nel bene e nel male FIAT.....ora dobbiamo cedere ai francesi...bah....
