The 2010 Jaguar XF, as well as the 2010-2011 XK models equipped with the 5.0-liter engine have been recalled due to a faulty electric fuel pump which may cause the engine to unexpectedly cut out.

The issue only effects the models equipped with the 5.0-liter V8 engine, and the issue occurs as the fuel pump is not properly activated due to the failure of the fuel pump relay not energizing after a vehicle start-up cycle. As a result, the lack of fuel could cause the engine to cut out unexpectedly, potentially causing a safety concern.

As many as 5,048 Jaguar vehicles could suffer from this issues.

Jaguar will begin fixing the issue on August 30, 2010.
