Ferrari 488 GTS reportedly confirmed for Frankfurt debut in September; 488 GTB Scuderia planned

488 GTS will have a twin-turbo V8 3.9-liter engine

Dutch media has learned from sources close to Ferrari that the Spider version of the 488 GTB will debut in September at IAA 2015.

A prototype has already been caught on camera recently and it seems the production-ready car will be shown in Frankfurt and will likely be called 488 GTS. Needless to say, it will carry over the 488 GTB's newly developed 3.9-liter V8 twin-turbo engine rated at 670 PS (493 kW) and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft). Performance figures should be very close to those of the coupe which hits 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3 seconds and tops out at 205 mph (330 km/h).

The report also states Ferrari is cooking up a 488 GTB Scuderia which will likely come with a weight loss, power bump, more aggressive body and other hardware tweaks. It's not known at this point when the hardcore 488 will be out, but chances are Ferrari will wait until at least 2017.

Prega che non facciano una 488 GTO: quella si che arrotolerebbe l'asfalto dietro di se.
