Come M.Y. 2018, Mercedes-Benz aggiornata la AMG GT Roadster, inserendo l'allestimento S.

A metà strada la Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster e la Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster, la GT S Roadster ha il suo V8 4.0 litri Biturbo che eroga 522 CV, 46 CV in più della GT Roadster "base".

L'allestimento sospensivo, cambio e differenziale ricalca quello della variante Coupe'.
