Sono incappato in questo video di 4R dove si parla della prossima vettura destinata alla Polizia USA per sostituire la Crown Victoria Interceptor.

Ebbene, sono rimasto un po' spiazzato perché qualche anno fa si è parlato di altri modelli, tra questi la Ford Taurus Police Interceptor, nonché la futuristica Carbon Motors E7 motorizzata con un motore diesel by BMW.

Ora non mi è chiaro se coesisteranno o se l'ha spuntata la Chevy, tanto meno ho notizie sulla Carbon che sembrava più un concept che non una vera proposta, ma probabilmente erro...

In ogni caso per questa Caprice si parla di TP ed un V8 6.0 benzina da 355 CV, ma il motore standard dovrebbe essere un 3.5 V6 da 300 CV. Entrambi abbinati ad un automatico a 6 rapporti e capaci di funzionare anche con E85.

Sfiora i 240 km/h accelerando da 0 a 96 km/h in 6,01 sec per oltra 1.800 kg, che diventano quasi 1.900 per la V8.

La 6L biodiesel BMW doveva fare 12,5 km/l ed accelerare fino a 96 km/h in 6,5 sec per durare almeno 400.000 km... Sarà stato quest'ultimo dato a rallentare le cose? :)
