Vero, è capitato pure a me, ma in questo caso le misure riportate sono confermate da altre fonti, tra cui Quattroruote.

Su Quattroruote, oltre che alla Edge, fanno riferimento anche alla Mustang. Mi chiedo, dunque, se non si tratti delle rispettive nuove generazioni, attese tra il 2013 ed il 2014.

Tra l'altro pare anche che la prossima Edge avrà piattaforma in comune con l'S-Max.

Ford will introduce the American market Edge into Europe in 2014. The move is an attempt to provide an answer for the trend of European buyers flocking towards road-biased SUVs in place of conventional hatches and estates.

Today’s Ford Edge is a mid-size SUV, sold mainly in North and South America, where it is pitched against the Nissan Murano and Dodge Journey among many others. Although its also sold in China and Russia.

The next-generation model is slated for production late in 2014 and will be based on the mid-size platform. Whether it’s a further development of the CD391 platform underpinning the new Ford Mondeo, or one of the first models from an all-new architecture, hasn't been revealed.

The new platform will allow Ford to engineer it for right-hand drive and European-friendly powertrains, which means diesels. Today its main engines are V6 petrols and a 2.0-litre EcoBoost.

Ford sales and marketing boss, Jim Farley said: “The expanding European SUV market is a unique opportunity for Ford and lands right in our sweet spot. No other company can touch Ford’s expertise, global portfolio and credibility when it comes to SUVs.”
