Renault confirms new Megane coming to Frankfurt this year

The next generation Renault Megane has been confirmed for a 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show debut.

Speaking to IndianAutosBlog at the Renault Kwid’s world premiere, Laurens Van Den Acker, Senior Vice President, Corporate Design at the French company, revealed the 2016 Megane will receive its debut during in the second week of September. “The new Megane will be launched in the Frankfurt motorshow. It’s a segment which is a hugely competitive because you’re competing against the VW Golf, Peugeot 308 etc.”

Based on the CMF platform that also underpins the Nissan Pulsar, the new Megane will feature a completely new design, sharing most of its lines with the current Clio and the Captur. “We will have a very sexy, very sensual, very attractive sporty looking vehicle with all the new technologies which will install itself nicely in the lineup,” Van Den Acker also commented.
