McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt has revealed the company's entry-level P13 will go on sale in September of 2015 and cost around £135,000.

Speaking to Top Gear, Flewitt said the upcoming model will be the "best driver's car in its segment" and be similar to the 650S which recently debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. As he explained "Both are two-seaters, both mid-engined but with different engines and suspensions. That's how the 650S will justify its premium [price]."

The similarities will carryover to the car's styling as the executive confirmed the P13 isn't "noticeably smaller" than the 650S. That won't appease everyone but Flewitt said the P13 needs less cooling than the 650S so its styling will reflect that.

Flewitt went on to say the model will use a version of their twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine. He declined to provided performance figures but previous reports have indicated it could produce anywhere from 444 bhp (331 kW) to 500 bhp (373 kW).

Da quando le GranTurismo si fanno a motore centrale?

Penso che abbia usato il termine GT con estensione di significato: una vettura più votata all'aspetto turistico di quelle prodotte sinora. Un po' come la Europa era una sorta di Exige GT; sebbene fosse priva di un bagagliaio.
