Ennesimo mulo su base Touran ibrido, che WCF ha catalogato come Skoda Roomster II basato su new Touran.

Mi chiedo da cosa siano partiti per affermare ciò... aspettiamo info dagli addetti al settore.

Scritta sul posteriore e grafica del camuffo sono le stesse del primo mulo della Yeti FL...

...e anche dell'attuale Octavia...

Skoda is working on a new Roomster – but it will be a very different car from what we know at present.

A senior insider at the company told Auto Express that the next-generation model will be based on the passenger car version of the Volkswagen Caddy, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

The move will see Skoda enter a sector where the likes of the Citroen Berlingo Multispace and Peugeot Partner Tepee have enjoyed success.

And the new Roomster could go on sale as early as next year. The insider told Auto Express: “We are working on a project for the successor to the Roomster within the group, with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

“You can imagine having a Skoda out of the Caddy – and we are working on it. The new car will be based on the Caddy.”

The move is likely to be confirmed in summer, with the model possibly hitting showrooms in 2016.

The insider continued: “It can come to market pretty soon. The Caddy goes on sale in the middle of the year, so we won’t be that far away. It’s possible that we might see [the Roomster] later this year, with it going on sale sometime next year.

“But it will be a totally different, a new approach. As an MPV in the small commercial sector it is a completely new car. Roomwise, equipment wise, price wise – it’s a major change.

“It’s a brand new car that is not a direct replacement for the actual Roomster – it’s a jump into another sector.”

The Roomster’s typical annual sales in Europe have been between 40,000 to 50,000 and it is simply not economically viable for Skoda to develop a successor on its own at this level – hence the decision to use the Caddy.

Praticamente, un furgoncino imbellettato? Il concetto di MPV non è questo. Sarebbe una toppata clamorosa, IMHO

Cambio di rotta rispetto al primo mulo o due cose diverse?

C'è anche da considerare il fatto che il primo mulo potesse essere un laboratorio ambulante per qualsivoglia cosa, nuovo Touran compreso.

In ogni caso, confermato che il futuro Roomster - sempre che si chiami così - non sarà altro che un Caddy rimaneggiato.
